A rare opportunity to stay in a detached 17th century traditional Welsh cottage in the village of Abersoch.

with thick stone walls and slate roof the cottage stands in its own south facing garden and the gravelled driveway provides ample off road parking for cars and boats.

The accommodation comprises ground floor with living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom with double bed and conservatory. Upstairs there is a crogloft with two single beds, the access to the crogloft is a steep open plan staircase.

The kitchen has been refitted and includes a full gas cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave.

Fully refurbished the bathroom provides a full size bath, basin, wc and shower above the bath.

The cottage includes a television, Wi-Fi , DVD player and mini Hi-Fi.

The conservatory includes patio furniture which provides a very popular alternative living and dining space.

Being south facing the cottage is very light and the conservatory is often very warm. The cottage is available for family bookings only.A pet can be accepted by arrangement.

Please note that the staircase to the crogloft bedroom, being steep and narrow, is not suitable for the very young nor for elderly or infirm adults.

The conservatory also provides a very convenient level access into the cottage right alongside the parking area.

In the Spring and summer the front of the cottage is festooned with rambler roses.

Ceiriad Bach is a traditional Welsh cottage with thick stone walls and a slate roof.It is one of the oldest cottages in Abersoch village. We have retained as many of the original features as possible whilst making the cottage comfortable for everyday living.

The cottage stands on the edge of Abersoch village about a ten minute walk from the shops and a leisurely fifteen minute walk to extensive sandy beaches.

The location of the cottage makes it an ideal base to enjoy the sailing, fishing, walking and swimming which are all available along the adjacent coastline.

Snowdonia National Park is within easy driving distance and the area also has a host of castle and other visitor attractions including the Italianate village of Portmeirion and the Festiniog railway. The RSPB osprey project is also within easy reach.
Our normal rental period runs from Saturday to Saturday. We do offer short breaks,a minimum of three nights,in the early and late season. This is indicated in the fees table.

Good value well located

By Anne M on 20-Jul-2017

Lovely garden tight drive but we followed their advice about the gate and it helped. Kitchen and bathroom compact but modern and well equipped. The conservatory made a good addition to the space and was light and bright where the main room and bedroom were quite traditional . Good value and well located.

Quaint cosy cottage

By Liz Brennan on 17-Apr-2017

We have returned to this cottage as it is perfect for us. It is a lovely walk into the centre of Abersoch and the enclosed garden is an ideal space for the kids to have a run around. The property was clean on arrival and the owner (John) is a pleasure to deal with - I have no doubt that we will be back!

This was a last minute break my son booked for me so I didn't anticipate too much. Just needed a break. This cottage is idyllic! Complete with roses around the door. Lovely safe garden that my dogs enjoyed. Everything spotless. Pleasure to keep clean. Loved it so much I wanted to book again immediately. John Booth professional, helpful and approachable. Thank you so much! Definitely be back! Hells Mouth beach at sunset is beautiful, and dog friendly.

Beautiful quirky cottage in Abersoch. Cottage had everything we needed for our weeks holiday. 5 minutes walk to the beach and centre of Abersoch is perfect. Would definately book again. John sent all information through when needed and kept in contact before we arrived. Just a brilliant week for my family.

Great cottage

This is a lovely little cottage on the outskirts of Abersoch, an ideal location if you want to walk to all of the pubs and restaurants, but don't want to be in the thick of it. The cottage is small but perfectly formed. The kids loved the crog loft which they quickly turned into their den (I would say it is not suitable for toddlers as the steps are steep). The enclosed front garden is a bonus, and a great space for the kids to play whilst you enjoy sitting in the sun. The owner was great to deal with. We have no complaints at all.

We are a family of 4 with a small dog and stayed in this lovely little cottage for a week over Easter. The garden was perfect for our dog as it was fully enclosed with lots of room to run around. Although very small, the cottage provided all the accomodation we needed and we felt very at home by the end of the week. It is in a lovely spot just on the outskirts of Abersoch and was just 10 minutes walk to the centre. We will definitely be back at some point next year!

Pretty cottage in good location

Pretty cottage with well equipped kitchen and bathroom.Lovely well kept gardens with good privacy.Quite small but very suitable for couple or family One thing to be aware of but not mentioned is that there is a very deep/high step from living area and bedrooms to kitchen and bathroom which may cause anyone with limited mobility a problem. We chose this cottage because accommadation was on one level and the step did present us with a challenge! However this is only a small issue ,the cottage is really lovely and we had a great week!
My Response
We really welcome this feedback which will prove invaluable in helping future visitors to choose a holiday home which is well suited to their needs.

The cottage is in a lovely setting being just a few minutes walk from the village and beaches. The gardens were a little overgrown but this is a minor point and it is such a quaint little place.Everything inside worked perfectly and we would have no hesitation in returning.

we stayed this year and had a fantastic time. The cottage is close to the beach, village, and golf course..probably 15 minutes walk...there's also a Spar 5 minutes walk away..inside it's clean and tidy with all the facilities you could want and the conservatory is a bonus if you just want to relax and read if the weather isn't perfect...the garden is enclosed and safe and there's a table and chairs outside for breakfast...can't fault it

Enjoyable Stay

My husband, 11 month old twin babies and I stayed here for a week in June and had a lovely time. The cottage is very quaint & cosy & easily within walking distance of the town centre and beach. The conservatory was ideal for drying all the baby clothes overnight!! We felt right at home from the minute we arrived and the babies must have too as they slept very well every night! The south facing aspect of the garden and decent sunshine meant that we could spent quite a bit of time outside enjoying watching the twins play. The crogloft has lots of character but as it is accessed via a steep staircase it was not suitable for us to carry the babies up, however there is plenty of room in the main bedroom for a travel cot. A great place to retreat to..did not want to come home!!

This adequately equipped Cottage is situated in a magnificent part of Wales. The property is very quaint, extremely comfortable and has a very cosy feel about it. Beaches are clean, many flying the blue flag. The Cottage is within easy walking distance to the beach, small supermarkets, shops and various places to eat or just have a cup of coffee. Large supermarkets are a short drive away as are many attractions. The surrounding country side is ideal for walkers, fishing and keen photographers.

Excellent Position

Having spent a week at Johns cottage in May, the kids have already asked if we are staying there next year. The cottage is ideally positioned and you can walk into the centre of Abersoch no problem and for my 2 little ones aged 9 & 6 not to moan, it must be ok :) Cottage had everything that was required and I could not fault John when he sorted out a slight technical issue himself immediately. Tight entrance by car into the property and definately best route is to U turn and turn right into the driveway. Looks like we will be back next year anyway :)

A handy haven after a day on the beach.

By Team HS on 08-Jun-2010

We enjoyed our stay in this quaint, historic cottage and had a wonderful week of blistering sunshine. The conservatory is a lovely addition as with two busy schoolboys space is key! The cottage is small, but contains the basics. Dubbed "the mouse house", our children slept upstairs in the crogloft which they thought was great, we learned to duck (low doorframes - clearly people in previous centuries were shorter!), the kitchen contained the essentials and the lounge was a cool haven after a hot day on the beach. As regulars to Abersoch, we chose this cottage due to the closeness to town beach/golf course etc and location-wise it's ideal - esp.in the sunshine. However, it's a tight turn from the road so head past the cottage and do a 'U' turn a few yards further up to save your paintwork! The light conservatory is perfect for meals, we'd have loved access to an outside BBQ as it was so hot all week (the conservatory was v.v.warm when we returned from our days out) - maybe something worth considering for the future? The garden's big enough for the children to play football and a happy, family break was had by all in the sunshine.

Quaint, cosy and handy to Abersoch village

My Husband, Jack Russell and I stayed at this quaint/cosy cottage from 14th through to 17th April and we were blessed with the weather, the sun shone and the sky was blue the whole time we were there! The updated kitchen/bathroom bring the cottage into the 21st century and the bedrooms/lounge areas are quaint and cosy. The electric shower with powerful and constant hot water was very welcoming. The warm conservatory also came in very handy. We would definitely stay here again, hoping to re-book for September :o)

So pleased we found this delightful little cottage for Easter as it was ideal for our 13 year old daughter and Milly our Cavalier . I agree with everything JimboF said in his review .The cottage is lovely and has a very modern bathroom and kitchen but the original rooms have ,quite rightly ,not been touched and are very quaint and full of character . The location is wonderful as it is minutes out of Abersoch in the car - certainly walkable and very close to amazing beaches .

Visit late October

House clean and well-maintained. Far enough out of town to be quiet, but still close enough to walk into town. House lovely and cosy, but unsure whether would be suitable for cold weather stay. Conservatory lovely and warm in good weather. Garden small but very nice. Access from road somewhat tricky. Steep stairs unsuitable for small children.
