Craven Cottage is a beautiful Grade II listed, early 19th century cottage in Appletreewick, one of the loveliest villages in the Yorkshire Dales.

The cottage has links to Sir William Craven - Wharfedale's Dick Whittington - who was born in the village but moved to London to make his fortune, eventually becoming Lord Mayor.

​Appletreewick makes the perfect base for a relaxing and reviving Dales holiday - with its 36 cottages and two pubs, the village is just two fields away from the beautiful river Wharfe and surrounded by perfect countryside for walking.

​Craven Cottage sleeps four comfortably, in its two main bedrooms; one with a kingsized bed and one with twin beds. Bunk beds (full sized singles), in a third bedroom allow additional accommodation for another two guests (a small additional charge applies for extra linens and towels). The south facing seating area at the front of the cottage is perfect for a relaxing drink at the end of a sunny day.

The beautiful, original range fireplace is the focal point of the living room at Craven Cottage. Renovated in 2004, the original flagstones throughout the ground floor are characterful and practical.

​The living room has two three-seater sofas, a dining table and chairs, TV etc. The cottage also has fibre broadband so staying connected or streaming are both an option (if you wish!).

​The kitchen has a large electric range cooker with ceramic hob. Microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Traditional stone steps lead upstairs where the bathroom is huge, with a spacious and powerful shower and a free standing bath. Three bedrooms accommodate up to six people (although the cottage is probably best suited to four, as there is only the one bathroom). The king and twin bedrooms are at the front of the cottage and the bunk room is at the rear.

Would recommend this place to anyone wanting to relax and take in the countryside. A charming, warm home that has been transformed with modern sittings and facilities. Charming friendly village.
Stayed there for 3 nights in 2019 and didn't want to leave.
Suitable for families or couples wanting a cheeky getaway.
