Beadnell is a popular holiday destination renowned for its extensive range of quality water sports including sea kayaking, wind surfing and scuba diving. There is a rocky outcrop scattered with rock pools great for children to explore which leads on to an expansive sweep of golden sand. A few miles inland is the historic market town of Alnwick renowned for its majestic castle, the location of the Harry Potter movies. Horse riding and fishing can be enjoyed locally and the area has several splendid golf courses.
Alexandra Cottage is nestled in the heart of Beadnell with fantastic views across Beadnell Bay towards Dunstanburgh Castle and only a 5 minute walk to a lovely sandy beach or great rockpools. The log burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere on chilly evenings, while the range of DVD’s, books and children’s toys will ensure everyone is entertained. The secure sheltered garden has rattan style garden furniture and a barbecue for relaxed alfresco dining. For wet weather, or just a spot of pampering we have recently added membership to the local Ocean Club in Seahouses, giving access to pool, spa, gym and classes (charges apply)

Perfect Location and Great Views
By S Doyle on 24-Sep-2018
“A lovely cottage, perfectly positioned to explore and enjoy both Beadnell and the wonderful Northumberland coast. The beauty and the peacefulness of the area are a joy.
This was out fifth stay and it’s just as good each and every time. The changes to the cottage only improve the already great views out the back and they, along with the decor, have obviously been carried out with great thought and care.
I don’t really have a bad word to say. Although my only complaint is that with each visit to this cottage, the village and the area, makes it harder and harder to return south and settle back down into everyday life. We’re already dreaming of our next visit”.
Another gorgeous week in Northumberland

We've been to Alexandra Cottage lots of times - the recent work makes it even better while still homely and cosy - and the view to Dunstanburgh is still fantastic. We'll be back again no doubt!

First time in Northumberland and couldn't have had a better base to explore, Beadnell and especially this gorgeous house!
We felt at home straight away and it has everything you need for your stay - wonderful!
Beautiful decor, great taste and high quality

We have had a super time at Alexandra Cottage. The cottage has all we wanted for the week....and more. We particularly enjoyed the view of Dunstanburgh Castle and watching the sheep in the nearby fields. We hope to be back next year.
Cute house with everything you need and more! Best setting in Northumberland!

We've stayed in Northumberland a few times but this was the best. Sandwiched in the centre of Beadnell (2 great pubs within a stones throw) this is a great base to explore the area. Beadnell has a shop, playpark, pubs, beautiful beach and a lovely cafe. Just perfect for our family if 4. As soon as I walked into this house I felt at home. Beautiful garden with decking (ideal for morning tea in the sun) and 2 good sized bedrooms. The shower is huge and great. No bath but not a problem for us. Lounge, dining area and lovely kitchen too. Great space for our family. The thoughtful owners had an array of toys too which kept my 2 occupied. We've already booked to be back next year and can see us being regulars! Thanks Charlie for a great stay!!
Lovely cottage with fantastic sea views.
By Chris B on 24-Jan-2018
A great cottage in a superb location to visit all Northumberland has to offer. A short walk to great beaches that stretch for miles or to explore rock pools at low tide. The cottage offered everything you would need for a comfortable stay and there is much more room than you would imagine as sometimes pictures tend to enlarge the spaces but this cottage really is roomy and comfortable. The living accommodation upstairs takes advantage of the great sea views across Beadnell Bay towards Dunstanbrough Castle. I would definitely recommend this cottage and I would love to go back at some point in the future. Congratulations to Charlie and Andrew who have carved themselves a little gem.......
Fantastic location, beautiful cottage

Alexandra Cottage was everything we wanted for a restful break in Northumberland. The view is lovely, the rooms are excellent, plus the freeview and internet great. We’ve been to Beadnell many times and this is the best cottage we have stayed in – like the upside down living! A great week in this really well thought out, comfy cottage…we’ll definitely be back

We have had a very relaxing 2 weeks in this lovely cottage. We would recommend Corbridge for a lovely small village to spend an afternoon. We loved seeing Twelfth Night at Bamburgh Castle too. The walks from here to Low Newton and from here to Bamburgh were fantastic.
A peaceful get-away

As good as we had expected and more! Clean, lovely furnishings, and fantastic view. Glad we could contact you when we were a bit worried about water on the road - it seems that it had come from around the corner. We would definitely recommend the cottage to friends and family. We also enjoyed Howick Hall, both the gardens and the tea-room. We tended to eat in a lot, bringing seafood back from Seahouses. Also visited OneCoffee1 in Seahouses twice - lovely!
Excellent as ever!

Third stay in Alexandra Cottage and it gets better with each visit. The cottage itself, Beadnell and Northumberland in general all make for a wonderfully relaxing break and we already booked again for September even before this holiday ended. I cannot recommend this as a holiday destination highly enough. Also the owners are very efficient and helpful and they have our thanks for making out stay an excellent one.
Home away from Home

Our third trip to Alexandra Cottage (we visited at the beginning of February) and as always we had a really wonderful time. It is like a home away from home and such a relaxing place to stay. The weather was kind to us for February and we enjoyed lovely walks on the beach and lunch in Seahouses. Thanks again for a fantastic stay - can't wait to come back again very soon!
This place really has everything that you could wish for
By P Matthews on 04-Sep-2016
We have just returned from a fabulous week here in Alexandra Cottage. This place really has everything that you could wish for from a holiday rental. Ideal for a family of 4, it is so close the the beach, in the centre of the village next to pubs, restaurants and a lovely cafe and lost of things to do as well as places to visit nearby. The only thing that can't be guaranteed is the weather which i'm pleased to say, for us, was absolutely bloody brilliant!
Great house, ideal for exploring Northumberland

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Alexandra Cottage. The house has everything you need and more. Great place for kids to stay, lots of toys available. Excellent location, easy to walk to the beach, play area and pubs.
Excellent Cottage and Location

We have just returned from spending half term here. It was absolutely lovely, excellent cottage and location
By Kathryn P on 21-Feb-2016
We visit Beadnell on a regular basis but this was our first stay in Alexandra Cottage. The cottage was fabulous, the topsy-turvey layout made the most of the fabulous views. The cottage had everything we needed and was lovely and warm. It suited our family of four down to the ground. It's ideally located in the village, just seconds from the playground, both pubs and the new Salt Water cafe. All of which are very welcoming and family friendly. The shop and fabulous beaches are a few minutes away. We have enjoyed sand boarding in the sand dunes, beach combing for treasure, rock- pooling and painting stones. My husband who is a keen cyclist brought his bike and enjoyed a number of rides around the area. On our only wet day we headed to the swimming pool at Alnwick then off for lunch at Barter Books. We have throughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying at Alexandra Cottage.
Everything we needed and more

We have had a wonderful week at Alexandra Cottage. The weather was kind to us at some point every day. Your cottage had everything we needed and more. Nice touches with the toy box, welcome essentials, log burner fuel and BBQ equipment. So much to do north & South of Beadnell we did not fit it all in to one week, so we'll be back soon. Thank you
