Arrived and welcomed with fresh flowers, thoughtful provisions and very tasteful furnishings throughout.
Wonderful temporary home from home, a joy to come back to every evening after savouring the delights of Berwick upon Tweed and surrounding area. Owner very helpful and was there within 5 minutes to help us when technology had us stumped.
Every amenity and appliance made living in the cottage a joy. Will definitely recommend Causeway Barn to friends and family.
Superbly equipped. Very comfortable. Excellent!

Causeway Barn is very well located for visiting interesting places eg Alnwick Castle and especially the gardens, Lindisfarne, Floors Castle, Farne Islands, Bamburgh Castle, St Abbs (little fishing village), and Craigside where Armstrong was the first person to generate hydro electricity.. We could have easily visited Edinburgh and Hadrian's wall, had time allowed. My NZ relatives and I were absolutely delighted with our stay.

We found the Barn very easily, thanks to the comprehensive directions provided. Although it is in a peaceful location, Berwick is very convenient and the A1 brings many other places within easy reach, we enjoyed our days following the coastal route from Bamburgh down as far as Warkworth.
The Barn was furnished and fitted out to a very high standard, and extremely spacious and comfortable. We felt completely at home as soon as we opened the door for the first time, and it was as much of a pleasure to spend time there as it was to visit both familiar and new places around the area.
Any communication with the owners was prompt and helpful, we would not hesitate to recommend Causeway Barn and in all honesty we feel it is the best standard of self-catering accommodation we have stayed in anywhere in the U.K., from the Highlands to Cornwall.
One Of a Kind Converted Barn

We chose Causeway Barn as the pictures looked great from the website. We certainly didn't expect the attention to detail that's been put in to this accommodation upon arrival. The quality of decor, furniture and layout has been carefully thought out to ensure the guests are not only made to feel welcome, but also to feel that they made the right choice in having the perfect holiday in a perfect property and location. Everything was brilliant which made our stay here lovely.
The beach is amazing... Park up, short walk and you're on the most luscious huge beach.
There's plenty of restaurants, castles, and breathtaking walks all within a short distance.
If you want a holiday to remember and to feel you're in accommodation that gives the Wow factor,.... get booking!!

The cottage was amazing. Kept to a very high standard and would say it was 5 stars. The owner went out her way to call to see if everything was ok. Well located to visit the beautiful Northumberland coast.

This was a great luxury barn conversion. Very quiet rural location. Lovely coastal walks and even the weather obliged. - November 2016
Quiet, peaceful, tastefully done with a comfortable homely feel.
By Marion S on 07-Sep-2016
The whole property was tastefully done in pale modern colours, was clean and well maintained. The kitchen/dinner was bright, spacious and fully equipped with patio doors leading to a private, well attended sitting area which gets the pm sun. The sitting room had the calming effect, with comfortable chairs, ideal for reading, watching TV or savouring the peace and quiet. The bedrooms enjoyed lovely land/sea views and were, again tastefully fitted with comfortable beds. While the combed ceilings gave character, they proved a little challenging in the en suite (tall people). This did not spoil our stay.
The area is full of things to do, places to visit and things to see.
We would highly recommend this property and would like to return.

We had a great holiday at Causeway Barn. The property was of a high standard and had everything we needed and more. The amenities of Berwick are close by with very good places to eat. Edinburgh is accessible (we used the park and ride). Also Bamburgh, Holy Island and The Farne Islands are within reach. Altogether this was a great choice for the family and I'd recommend this property to anyone.

The property is very well equipped and has great quality fixtures and fittings. It really was a home from home set in a quiet farm buildings environment. We would have no problems to recommend the property. The owner is very helpful, friendly and also lives locally.

Exceptional cottage in a peaceful rural setting. Great location for exploring all of Northumberland. 5 of 5
By Wesley D on 12-Apr-2016
The exceptionally high standards of finish and cleanliness in this cottage really made the difference to how enjoyable our holiday was. We looked forward to time in this beautiful cottage at the end of our day exploring with the kids.
On one sunny Sunday afternoon in Spring we returned to the cottage, flung open the french doors to the garden and cooked in the evening sun as it flooded the kitchen.
The little touches made the difference - fresh flowers, guides to Northumberland, games and books, a fully equipped kitchen with nothing spared, lounging chairs in the living room, luxury roll top bath and everything sparkling clean.
We left wishing we owned this property ourselves. Our many thanks to Ros
A Patch of Paradise

Causeway barn is in an idyllic spot ideally situated for many local attractions and recreational pursuits. Ros has designed the interior with careful thought and an enormously high attention to detail. The house was warm and comfortable and we were made very welcome. I hope to be able to go back and enjoy the barn again in the near future
Lovley property, it looks good in the pictures & description but was better than the pictures
By Christine R on 04-Apr-2016
Stay was very good, ideal location for exploring the Borders and Northumberland. I would highly recommend this property. The property was spotless and to a very high standard. I don't know how the owner can bear to let it out to strangers. We enjoyed our stay very much and will return to the same property.
