Cottage in Langham, Nr. Holt, North Norfolk, England - Ideal location, two miles from Blakeney and the coast in the pretty village of Langham.

Bluebell Cottage is a pretty semi-detached quaint village cottage. It even has roses round the door! Langham is close to the coast; Blakeney and Morston are two miles away, the attractive Georgian town of Holt is six miles away and Wells-Next-The-Sea is just seven miles along the coast road. Bluebell Cottage has been in the Rogers family for many years and the family also ran the village pub for over a hundred years too. You will see links to the Blubell Inn throughout the cottage! Although recently modernised, the cottage retains great traditional charm. It contains many interesting antique pieces of furniture and is very well equipped with everything one needs for a very relaxing and restful holiday. The cottage comprises a kitchen with all modern conveniences including a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave, ceramic hob and oven, a dining room with table, chairs and antique Victorian armchair, a cosy sitting room with a three piece suite, antique tables, bookcase and books, TV and DVD [DVD's available], Upstairs there are two attractive bedrooms [one double and one with two singles]. The bedrooms both have wardrobes and antique dressing tables. The cottage also has a downstairs loo with wash hand basin and a bathroom upstairs with loo, full sized bath and separate power shower enclosure. Both have been recently refurbished. There is an enclosed back courtyard garden, with table and benches, plus a BBQ. We also have a large garden to the side of the property, with ample parking. The cottage has steep stairs and is not suitable for young children or those with mobility difficulties. We do allow one small well behaved dog, although it must sleep in the kitchen (dog gate provided from kichen to dinng room) and must not be left in the house when you go out. Dogs are not allowed on any of the furniture and must not be allowed to go upstairs at all.

The Bluebell, in the village, is a relaxed traditional pub which also provides excellent food. Dogs are allowed in the bar area.

The 'Harper', Langham's new hotel and spa, is due to open in 2018. The bar, dining facilities and spa will be open to non residents. There are also many excellent pubs and restaurants in the area offering a wide variety of food, from hearty bar snacks to a la carte dining. There is a wealth of things to do in the area and Langham is ideally placed in this delightful area of North Norfolk. We are always happy to answer more detailed questions about the cottage, the area and local attractions, so please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Lovley historic cottage

Lovely historic cottage

4 of 5

This is a beautiful cottage. Pretty little patio just right for breakfast. Lovely field for the dogs too. Very well equipped and in a good position for exploring North Norfolk. Don't miss Langford Glass which was most interesting. Good modern kitchen and bathroom and comfortable lounge. Stairs were a bit steep but we very much enjoyed our stay.

charming comfortable cottage in a great location

4 of 5

We have stayed in North Norfolk before so know the area fairly well. We found the location of Bluebell Cottage ideal to explore the surrounding coastline and towns. Wells-next-The-Sea, Holkham, Sheringham, Cromer, Holt, and Burnham Market all within easy reach. Blakeney is only a couple of miles away and is a beautiful place to visit.

The Cottage itself was big enough for a family of four (the children shared a room). Comfortable lounge, well equipped Kitchen with separate dining room. Furniture is in keeping with the age of the cottage, giving a real olde-worlde feel to the place. Small enclosed Courtyard garden which was safe for the dog to be in and a much larger garden to right with parking. The Bluebell pub/restaurant is only 2 mins walk away which we would recommend. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would certainly recommend the cottage to others.

Ideal relaxing location and accommodation for seeing the best of North Norfolk coast

Ideal relaxing location and accommodation for seeing the best of North Norfolk coast

5 of 5

We stayed for one week at Blue Bell cottage in Langham from mid September 2017. It was an ideal base for seeing what must surely be some of North Norfolks' best and most interesting scenery. The coastal areas from Brancaster to Mundesely kept us busy and we found the Seal boat trip from Morston well worthwhile and priceworthy. The Cley Marshes Visitor Centre, is a lovely place to take a tea or coffee break after a long walk round the Cley marshes. Having spent some time there, I now see what attracts so many bird watchers - it kind of grabs you!

An excellent alternative to Cornwall.

A Holiday cottage with all you need for a relaxing break near the sea but in a peaceful village

By Helan P on 12-Sep-2017

Great care has been taken over the contents of the cottage, which makes it "home from home". All of the information and simple instructions allowed us to settle in very quickly. The owner is only a phone call away if you have any concerns. We can also recommend the dog friendly walks and pubs listed in the area, and we added a leaflet from Sheringham which lists dog friendly beaches etc.. A visit to the "Langham Dome" was a complete surprise and certainly worth a visit. Thank you for making our holiday special. Helen & Malcolm, Warwickshire + Oscar & Bailey or course!

Charming country cottage

By Suzan D on 26-Aug-2017

A lovely well appointed, traditional style cottage in the village of Langham, just two miles inland from the north Norfolk coastal villages of Morston and Blakeney. Langham has a thriving pub serving lunches and evening meals. The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds, a cosy sitting room and separate dining room adjacent to the kitchen. The bathroom upstairs has a separate shower, as well as bath, WC and wash basin and there is also a downstairs WC and wash basin. Lots of great country and coastal walks nearby and good access to larger seaside resorts, such as Cromer and Sheringham and near to National Trust owned Fellbrig Hall.

Comfortable, cosy cottage

By Emily N on 20-Aug-2017

We had a great week in Bluebell Cottage. It has everything you need for a really comfortable stay and is in a good location to visit Wells and the surrounding beaches. Our children loved the beach at Wells, crabbing on the quayside and taking a boat trip to see the seals at Blakey Point. We had lovely weather (mostly) and will definitely be back again.

Bluebell Cottage is a warm and homely cottage.

By Patricia W on 21-May-2017

Well equipped Cottage with everything you could possibly need to make your holiday all that you want. The single beds were a bit bouncy for my husbands liking as he is use to a firmer bed. The owner was very helpful with lots of useful information. The location was good as it was only a few miles to the sea. I had hoped to walk to Blakeney but no foot paths along the road so was not safe to walk. The Blue Bell pub a short walk from the cottage which has good food and is also dog friendly. I would recommend Blue Bell cottage for anyone who is looking for a relaxed and comfortable place to stay. If we make it to North Norfolk again we would not hesitate to book the Cottage again.

Bluebell Cottage, Langham, Nr Blakeney

By Christine M on 10-Sep-2016

Charming cottage, set in a brilliant position for exploring the wonderful north Norfolk coast. The cottage is so comfortable, homely and dog friendly. The little enclosed garden was a delight for all meal times, especially watching the sun rise. One of the nicest places we have stayed in. The owners couldn't have been more helpful.

A well appointed and characterful cottage in a lovely quiet village convenient for the coast

By Anonomous Wetherby on 10-Aug-2016

The cottage was clean and tidy, and had everything a visitor could need. We appreciated the information folders provided, giving details of every thing a visitor could possibly want to know. The cottage is very nicely appointed and furnished in a way to suit its age and character. The parking was easy, and I enjoyed reading in the sunny garden. We really felt at home, and very comfortable. The friendly neighbour came out for a little chat one day and gave us some very useful tips about free car parks in the area. Our intention was to walk on the North Norfolk Coastal path, which we did on most days. We parked up and returned to the car at the end of our walk via the brilliant Coasthopper bus service. In addition, we spent an afternoon at Holkham Beach, visited Holkham Hall, where we enjoyed open air theatre, and visited Fellbrigg Hall. We fell in love with the Artemis cafe in Cley and the brilliant deli just opposite - eating far too many delicious treats! We were blessed by dry and sunny weather up until the final day, and really feel we saw the coastline at its best. We have returned relaxed and rested. I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to friends and family. Thank you very much!

Beautiful country cottage

By Cynthia O on 30-Sep-2015

Bluebell Cottage was emaculately clean and we loved the way it was furnished in keeping with the character of the cottage. Very well equiped - everything we needed was provided and we didn't want for anything. This cottage is cosy and confortable in every way. The Sherringham 1940's weekend (19th-20th Sept.) was very enjoyable and we recommend the the pub in Wiveton for an excellent meal. The owner provided a very good customer service and we would certainly recommend this cottage to relatives and friends and whenever we visit Norfolk again would definetely stay here again.Cynthia & Bob Owen

A marvellous cottage

By Christina on 06-Aug-2014

The Blue Bell Cottage has got everything you'd wish for on a holiday:

rooms superbly decorated with a very personal touch, very clean;

beds highly comfortable;

loved to prepare full English breakfast in the well equipped kitchen :-)

and enjoyed to sit in the little courtyard with an early espresso (or a late glass of wine) and having a chat with the neighbours once in a while.

To sum it up: we had a marvellous time in the Cottage.

It is perfectly locatd to explore the North Norfolk Coast and - if you are interested - NT properties and gardens.

Conversations with the owner via email very convenient and dealings with payment very straightforward. Thanks a lot!

We will certainly spread the word on the Continent!!!

PS: Try the Blue Bell Pub. Hospitality & food are excellent!

Chocolate box cottage in Norfolk

By Riannon Cambridge on 06-Jun-2014

This is a lovely cottage. The owners have managed to fit it with all the mod-cons without losing its traditional charms. The bedrooms are comfortable, the living room cosy, and the kitchen excellently equipped! We also found lovely suppliers of locally caught fish and seafood which was a lovely treat and I thoroughly recommend you try out the (many) amazing local restaurants.

The cottage is in a great location for visiting local beaches, towns and other beauty spots and you won't be stuck for walks as the Norfolk coast provides an amazing backdrop!

We will definitely be visiting again! :)

A welcoming retreat!

By Anonomous Stamford on 28-May-2014

I would highly recommend this charming, cosy property in a lovely village location. Our family of four plus pet dog spent four days there over Easter and we were all delighted with the cottage and surrounding area.

From the outset, everything was well organised and instructions are clear and precise. Cupboards are generously stocked and both inside and outside of the cottage is well maintained. The owners have thought of everything, including helping you plan your walks and where to visit.

Blakeney ( King's Arms Pub, great for a glass of wine after a walk with the dog) and Moreston are close by and Holt, a lovely little Georgian Town with unique shops is well worth a visit. We enjoyed a walk from Holkham to Wells using both beach and pine forest.

We ate at the Anchor in Moreston and the Dun Cow at Salthouse, both of which were very busy over the Easter weekend but went out of their way to accommodate us- the food was great at both!

It was a great choice for us, we would definitely go back!
