Set in the heart of the Dordogne this beautiful barn conversion is the ideal base to explore all that the region has to offer. Ideal for visiting the vineyards of Monbazillac, Bergerac and the Bordeaux regions. Within easy reach are the fabulous Chateaux’s and prehistoric sites of the Dordogne.

Chez Rosemary can be found in a quite hamlet in a peaceful rural location surrounded by sunflower fields in the summer months and an abundance of wildlife. The villa has been designed with rustic charm and convenience all in mind to ensure that your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

The large lounge area with open ceiling to the second floor provides comfortable and communal living with a delightful log burner for the colder months. Exposed beams throughout the property add the extra charm you would expect from this type of rural French property. A small mezzanine reading area on the first floor provides a cosy snug for those quite evenings. Satellite TV provides all the usual terrestrial English channels plus a DVD player, Wi-Fi and board games for those quieter times when not exploring the local area or taking a dip in the pool.

Outside the property can be found a self-contained and child friendly play area. This includes a cool and shaded seating area for al-fresco dining for up to 10 people underneath the veranda. Beyond this lies a heated swimming pool (10 x 5 meters) reaching temperatures of up to 26 C in the summer months. The pool is completely secluded by hedgerows and has a consistent depth of 1.2 meters. Beyond the pool area is a further garden space with fruit trees and is an ideal spot for quite reading, meditation or a game of badminton.

Of particular local interest to the property is Lake Jermaye (15 mins drive) This is a beautiful spot which provides a manmade beach which is popular with local families for swimming and water sports. There is also a large children’s play area and delightful walks around the lake. Also, to be found is the medieval town of Aubeterre-Sur-Donne (20 mins drive) with numerous restaurants, boutiques and a stunning monolithic church carved out of the rock. Brantome (Known as the The Venice of the Dordogne is also 40 mins drive away. Supermarkets, cafes and restaurants can all be found in Riberac (10 mins drive)
