Perfect for cycling on the 200km of New Forest cycle tracks the cottage has a secure store for up to 8 bikes. Bramshaw also hosts 2 golf courses for those looking for some quality time on the green together.

For those looking for a simpler pursuit why not explore the Forest on foot directly from the cottage door! This side of the Forest is quieter than some other parts so lots of areas to explore and adventures to be had. That being said it won't be long before you stumble across a good Forest pub for lunch!

The fabulous games room in the garden provides the perfect opportunity to just stay in. No need to spend money and no need to worry about the weather! Why not challenge the children to a game of pool or team up with grandma for a game of table tennis? Maybe this becomes the boys domain while the girls enjoy a glass of wine watching the deer and ponies from the conservatory?

Although the Forester Lodge retains many original features it has been modernised to an exacting standard and contains luxury fittings throughout.

With all of the accommodation, except the twin bedroom, on the ground floor The Foresters Lodge is ideal for those not wanting to be challenged by stairs on holiday. The soft pallet of colours promote the natural surrounding and this together with the light and airy feel make you instantly relax and feel at home.

Individually designed, the rooms all have their own character. The relaxed 'blue' master bedroom entices you in making you want to throw open the French doors onto the garden and let the outside in! The heavenly 'lilac' room invites you to snuggle up on the window seat with a book and watch the wildlife go by(this room can be configured as a 5ft double or 2 singles). The serene feel of the green room and fabulous Forest view makes you want to leave the curtains open all night watching the Forest go by. Whereas the fun 'red' room up stairs feels like you have just stepped into a 'gingerbread house' - great fun for the children, plus stargazing through the skylight!

The Foresters Lodge has a resident large herd of deer that pass by the cottage at dawn and dusk. The conservatory is the perfect place to relax with a cuppa while wildlife spotting - whatever the weather!

The lounge is cool in summer with its high vaulted ceiling and cosy in winter around the log burner - especially welcome after a nice long walk in the Forest on a winters day.

Dining is made easy with a breakfast bar seating 4 over-looking the Forest and adjoining table for 8. Lots of space for a relaxed evening get-together or Sunday roast lunch.

Don't forget the fabulous family bathroom with supersized Jacuzzi bath - space for 2! Drencher shower and twin basins. The perfect place to scrub up after a muddy walk or relax tired muscles after a busy day of Forest pursuits!
Our delightful cottages provide a special place to take time out for you. We can include retreat packages during your stay which can include holistic therapies and walking coaching in the beautiful New Forest. All of our programmes are designed to improve physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Choose from one of our 4 packages or ask about a tailor made programme for you. See more at http://forestviewcottages.com/retreats/

Impressive New Forest setting

By Claire B on 16-Nov-2018

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a beautiful semi forest setting, which provided fantastic photo and wildlife watching opportunities. Further from main roads than we had expected from the photos, making it extremely peaceful but not at all remote and very well located to explore the New Forest. We appreciated a very warm welcome from Donna on our arrival!

Beautiful accommodation in beautiful location

By Brian B on 21-Sep-2018

It was our 50th wedding anniversary and we spent a lovely weekend with our family at foresters lodge. Everything was perfect we felt at home as soon as we walked through the front door. Donna gave us a full tour of the lodge and told us about the local area. All the rooms were very well presented and comfortable and we all had great fun in the games room. This is a wonderful place and every day we watched the forest animals from the windows and conservatory. Truly fantastic.

Fabulous cottage with idyllic surroundings

By Carol P on 04-Aug-2018

We couldn't have asked for more in this well equipped cottage. With high quality fittings we were all comfortable throughout our stay. Added bonus of the well kitted out games room with extra fridge for all our drinks while we were having our competitive family games night. The forest was right outside the door and it was just magical as we saw the deer walking past, Such a memorable holiday. Strange hotel up the road, advertised cream teas on their sign at the bottom of the road, but I don't think they've seen anyone up there for years, we went in to the bar, stood around for 15 minutes then came out as there was no sign of life. On the up side, that made it quieter on the track by the side of the cottage , 2 lovely pubs only 5 mins drive serving good pub food. Donna was a great host, and I felt well looked after from the first email , to our first day of meeting and on our return.

A very nice property in the heart of the Forest

By Olga B on 21-Jul-2018

The house was very nice . It accomodated the 6 of us ( four adults and two children ) comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed sitting in the sun room and the garden. The location for walks in the New Forest is fantastic and we enjoyed waking up in the morning and seeing the ponies. We also enjoyed the local pub. We would recommend this wonderful house and the owner is very nice and helpful.

Fabulous holiday at the Foresters Lodge

By Alison E on 13-Jul-2018

We enjoyed a wonderful break staying at the Foresters Lodge, the cottage was lovely and clean and very well equipped. We were greeted by Donna, the owner and given a nice cake to welcome us which was a lovely touch. The location of the cottage is great and it is true all sorts of animals wander by. The cottage is a good size, it seems bigger on the inside then it looks outside. Having the games room at the top of the garden is a great idea, we spent a few evenings having little competitions between ourselves which was a great laugh, we kept the beer fridge well stocked. If you are looking for a lovely cottage in a beautiful area to use as a base or just to get away from it all the Foresters Lodge is the place to stay. I would highly recommend a visit to the New Forest and stay at the Foresters Lodge.

By Iain K on 01-Jun-2018

Stunning location location and facilities, five children and four adults had a wonderful time. The children enjoyed the games room and roaming in the forest around the house. The adults enjoyed the ensuing peace. Grandparents stayed at a local Inn and spent all day at the lodge, ideal.

Fantastic weekend break

By James M on 17-May-2018

As 6 individuals, we stayed in Forrester's Lodge for a weekend reunion. The house is well suited to a party of this size. It is well furnished and in a good state of repair. The owner welcomed us on arrival and nothing seemed too much trouble. She also left a cake! I would happily recommend this house.

Exceeded expectations

By Marie B on 26-Mar-2018

Simply a wonderful holiday from start to finish! We saw ponies and deer from the cottage windows and enjoyed lovely walks straight from the cottage door. The cottage has every comfort and is very well designed. The owners provided lots of information before our visit and on arrival to help us make the most of our time in the New Forest. This cottage really is "In the Forest" - wonderful! Would definitely recommend and we look forward to returning again soon!

The perfect house in the forest

By Julie M on 08-Mar-2018

We have just spent a lovely weekend in this beautiful house - cosy living room, spacious kitchen and dining area, pretty bedrooms, great conservatory for watching the ponies and a garden looking out on the forest where we saw deer near the house. Excellent heating and plenty of hot water. The games room was also great fun with choice of pool table, table tennis, table football and darts. The house is a short drive away from several good pubs serving food, as well as picturesque villages. The owner, Donna, was the perfect hostess, advising us on local places to go and answering all our queries promptly and with a smile - thank you very much! Highly recommendable and to be repeated!

Wonderful cottage/owner

By Alex D on 16-Feb-2018

My family love a weekend away in the UK, been very lucky with the cottages we have stayed in but this one was the best by far. We stayed here for my wife's birthday, the owner knew and made every effort (I wont say what, so it is not expected every time!) to give her a special stay. Aside from that, the cottage was immaculate, kitchen fully equipped and the location ideal. No other buildings nearby, pubs (with good food!) up the road and the missus loved the big bath. So peaceful, so many walks/bike rides to go on, so many roaming animals - perfect for a break in the New Forest.

By Alicia M on 18-Jan-2018

Our family of 6 adults and 3 dogs had a wonderful few days staying at Foresters Lodge. The games room was very popular with the younger generation. The conservatory is well positioned for forest views, we saw the deer each day. The photos of the house do not do it justice. Also the cake on arrival was delicious. Thank you Donna
My Response

Thank you for such a positive review. We are pleased you enjoyed yourselves and that The Foresters Lodge provided the ideal base for your family get-together. We were delighted to be able to be flexible and allow your very well behaved tiny dogs to come with you as it was out of season.

This is a stunning property in an amazing location

My family spent a wonderful weekend at the Foresters Lodge on 11th December. The house was very clean and well maintained with lovely furnishings to make for a comfortable stay. All of the bedrooms were a decent size and had great views over the forest. The games room was a great addition and was well used during our stay. The host, Donna, was very friendly and left us a delicious cake to enjoy. She was very welcoming and gave us a tour of the property which made us feel at home. The location was very picturesque as the Lodge is set within the forest itself. It was only a short drive to the local village shops and pubs. I would highly recommend a stay at the Foresters Lodge

A superb, well equipped cottage!

By Kath M on 27-Sep-2017

We rented this cottage for a family celebratory weekend. We had a party of 8, ranging in age from 13 up to 85. The cottage is tucked away in a lovely quiet, wooded area, so you feel wonderfully isolated; yet you're only a short distance, by car, from 'civilisation'. The interior is beautiful, with plenty of space (and a variety of areas) for our party to relax. The kitchen is large, modern and very well equipped with a large double cooker - we cooked in for 2 of our evenings and we had absolutely everything we needed (and more!). As well as leaving some 'essentials' (milk etc), the owner had left us a delicious home-made cake - a wonderful welcome and lovely touch. The cottage is well heated (with individual controls in each room), with comfortable beds and good storage space. However, it's 'crowning glory' has to be the superb games room (which our competitive family loved!) and the lovely warm conservatory, which looks out onto a forest clearing. We spent many an enjoyable moment relaxing there and watching the plentiful wildlife passing by! Booking was easy and the owner was quick to respond to any questions I had. I would highly recommend this cottage - there is absolutely nothing negative I can say about it!!

Incredible location and fantastic place to stay

By Rachel Ephgrave on 11-Sep-2017

We recently found this gem of a cottage which is right in the middle of the New Forest surrounded by woodland. The cottage itself is beautiful inside having been thoughtfully renovated and furnished making it a very comfortable home from home and the surroundings are incredible. We saw New Forest ponies, deer, cows, pigs and lots of squirrels just by looking out of the kitchen window! The bedrooms and lounge are really comfortable and the kitchen is really well equipped. Lots of nice English country pubs in close proximity. All in all a perfect place for us to stay as a family and we will definitely be back. Thank you Donna for your hospitality and the lovely homemade cake we received arrival.

Bank holiday weekend birthday celebration

By Anthea P on 24-Apr-2017

We were a party of 5 adults, a 3 year old, a toddler and a baby. Donna had provided all the necessary 'extras' - 2 highchairs and 2 travel cots - and the additional 'extra' of a delicious Victoria Sponge on arrival. The house was superbly equipped, comfortable and a joy to stay in. What a bonus the garden, surrounding scenery, conservatory and games room were. We felt so at home that we didn't want to leave. We walked, enjoyed a spa experience and afternoon tea at nearby Carey's Manor (one of the best my daughter and I have experienced) and a visit to Peppa Pig World (just minutes away by car and a must for the 3 year old). The Montague Arms at Beaulieu provided a superb 'surprise' 7-course tasting menu with wine pairing on the Friday evening and then on Sunday night we were fed by our visiting private chef from La Belle Assiette, certainly to be recommended. All in all it was an unforgettable weekend with Forest Cottage being the perfect base. Definitely to be recommended to friends and hopefully we will be returning as well.

Lovely family holiday

By Linda D on 14-Apr-2017

The cottage is beautifully maintained with plenty of space. The conservatory is especially nice with the ponies, deer and squirrels right outside. It really feels 'away from it all' but there are plenty of places to visit nearby. We enjoyed the beach at Highcliffe, Furzey gardens, Mottisfont house and horse riding at Brokenhurst. Donna is very welcoming and helpful and we can strongly recommend this property.

Forest Cottage Review

By Mel C on 24-Mar-2017

Forest Cottage was the perfect venue for a group of 8 friends to enjoy a lovely weekend in the New Forest. The cottage provided plenty of space including a lovely conservatory which provided a lovely place to relax, enjoy the sunshine and watch the wildlife walk by. At breakfast time we fully utilised the kitchen facilities but also enjoyed the view into the woods to see herds of deer and horses feeding. The cottage is well positioned just off the M27 and yet is not far away from the coast and places such as Lyndhurst and Lymington. There is plenty of space in the garden to enjoy the fresh air plus the use of the table tennis, table football and pool in the games room. An excellent choice which we would happily book again.

A wonderful holiday in a beautiful cottage

By Kerry J on 17-Feb-2017

We recently stayed at The Foresters Lodge to celebrate my Mum's 70th birthday. Trying to find a property to suit the needs of several generations of our family was a real challenge, however I can honestly say that we could not have found more perfect accommodation. From the initial enquiry through to answering all our of questions, meeting us on the day (with cake!) and returning the deposit on the day we left, Donna is the ideal owner. The property itself is beautifully presented and fully equipped with everything you could need, including towels and bedding. There is ample room for 8 people to be together or have their own space and the games room at the top of the garden is the icing on the cake. We all spent several very happy hours in fierce competition during the week and Mum discovered a talent for table football! We didn't want to stray very far at all, although managed to visit the local shop and also the Green Dragon for a fabulous birthday dinner. We have some great photos of the local ponies and deer who venture almost to the front door. This is an idyllic place and we have some wonderful memories - hopefully we will have the chance to return again in the future.

Lovely family break

By Helen F on 03-Feb-2017

The property is clean & very well maintained. It is in a lovely setting and we were given a warm welcome by Donna, who was easily contactable and helpful. We had a great family get together, going out for walks straight from the lodge and playing games when the weather was really bad. The whole place has a real home from home feel and if anything the lodge was better than its description. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to returning ourselves.

The house is in a stunning location with no other houses as far as the eye can see. Donna was a great host and met us at the house to run through everything. Beautiful home in the perfect rural setting, exact

By Grant B on 23-Oct-2016

We have been to the new forest many times and stayed in many nice properties but we certainly hit the jackpot this time around. Direct forest access in the perfect rural setting, the conservatory provides a great place to relax after long forest walks and watch the Deers, Horses, Cows & Pigs relaxing & enjoying their freedom. The games room is great for the kids & adults alike. The rest of the house is full of charm & history & all very well presented and equipped. Donna the owner was there to greet us with a home made cake and to show us around and settle us in. We all loved our break here and the only bad bit was leaving. We would be thoroughly recommend this holiday home.

A lovely, comfortable home from home.

By Susan E on 20-Oct-2016

We found the house well-equipped for catering for our large family, comfortable rooms which were warm given the autumnal chill and touches of luxury - great jacuzzi bath! Directions to the house were excellent and we were met promptly by Donna whose instructions were thorough and helpful, plus the lovely welcoming cake. There was plenty of useful local information in the folder and we loved exploring the local forest, up round Bramble Hill, as well as venturing further afield. The games room great for the older children amongst us! Would love to come again.

Full of character and charm, a stunning lodge

By Paula B on 07-Oct-2016

A group of 7 ladies stayed at Foresters Lodge for a long weekend to celebrate my up & coming wedding. Being the person who booked it, the feeling of apprehension that the chosen, away from it all accommodation would live up to everyone’s expectations soon melted away as we approached the Lodge, it was so pretty & and had so much presence, a beautiful location with a pretty garden, it was a warm, clean & welcoming Lodge Spoilt for choice for places to sit and unwind, from the seating in the garden and just outside the front door to the conservatory, lounge and kitchen. The breakfast bar was favourite in the morning as we chatted over tea & coffee, glancing out of the kitchen window often spotting deer, ponies, squirrels, birds, some retired to finish their coffee in the conservatory to watch the day wakeup, we used the lounge and treated ourselves to a cosy fire on the Saturday evening. The breakfast bar came into its own again in the evening as we sipped our favourite tipple. All the rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. It is by no means a negative comment but we personally felt that the twin room in the attic is more suited to younger members of a family group, or those who don’t have to get up in the night to visit the bathroom due to negotiating fairly steep stairs in a sleepy state. We visited The Lamb at Nomansland for an evening meal, The Green Dragon for a lunch time sandwich and The Royal Oak at Fritham, twice, for lunch, so suffice to say The Royal Oak was our favourite, we loved the rustic ploughman’s lunches. Donna was amazingly helpful and informative, from my initial enquiry, leading up to our stay, and welcoming us at the Lodge in person to returning the security deposit within hours of checking out, not to mention the homemade cake, thank you Donna.

Wonderful cottage we didn't want to leave!

By Sue G on 20-Jun-2016

This cottage is so special and even more impressive than the website! The location is perfect and we passed (and had to wait for) ponies, cows and pigs on the road to the cottage! When we arrived at the cottage we saw a herd of deer in the trees just next to the garden! It is a truly 'get away from it all' retreat. The cottage is beatifully refurbished and has everything you need for a multi-generation holiday. We were able to unwind straight away. It is a real home from home and clean and well maintained. The garden was beautiful and the surroundings just out of this world. It really is in the middle of the forest! The local shop had most things and the nearby farm sold eggs and bbq packs. We ate out at the Green Dragon pub and the Bell Inn both of which we would recommend. This cottage is a perfect place to unwind and get the family together. The games room was a real bonus and kept the younger members busy and entertained the rest! We enjoyed days out to Lepe beach, Longdown Activity Farm and the younger members enjoyed cycling - the bike shed was useful to store the bikes. We really appreciated the useful information sent before hand and on arrival, plus the tasty cake that Donna left for us. The whole experience from initial enquiry to return of the security deposit was easy, friendly and professional. We would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to return very soon! Thank you

Short, family, Autumn break…

By Michelle L on 13-Nov-2015

In short, everything was spot on! From our original enquiry to the return of the security deposit Donna has been exceptionally helpful, contactable, responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Her insights to the forest and area are worth their weight in gold. Plus she bakes a mean Victoria sponge! The property is charming, spotless and even better than we expected. We had more space than we anticipated and so none of us (6 adults) felt on top of each other over the 3 days. It was warm, cosy, light and comfortable (with lovely touches like blankets to snuggle under round the fire). The games room was a real bonus and source of much ‘healthy’ competition. We are already trying to figure out when we can go back so would have no qualms recommending it. There is so much to do and see but (with the risk of pointing out the obvious), you do need a car to pop to the local shop (5 mins for essentials – they are lovely!), 2 decent local pubs (Bell and Green Dragon, we recommend both) and the nearest ‘big shop’ is about 15 mins away (in case you want to stop on the way down instead as once there you won’t want to leave!)

The property is amazing, I stayed there with 7 friends for a long weekend of relaxing. Donna was fabulous and we'll definitely be back!

A place to just 'be'

By Happy Rentals on 24-Oct-2015

2 families, 4 teenagers one peaceful week! The lodge has many zones, but the conservatory early in the morning, with a cup of tea, book, deer, ponies and squirrels for company - magical! Walking into the woods from the back door was great, lots of walking and lovely pubs, we ate at the Lamb Inn, lovely food. By car, nothing was more than 20 minutes away, so much to see. We feel like we did everything yet did nothing. The Foresters did not disappoint. A couple of things need replacing but that's wear and tear with letting. Apart from visitors to the Bramble Hill hotel, going over the cattle grid outside the lodge, it was total tranquility and peace and would not hesitate in recommending to anyone.

Brilliant cottage and excellent location

By Rupert Bagilhole on 08-Sep-2015

Well appointed cottage with plenty of room and different areas to sit. Loved the sun lounge and the games room. Best of all was seeing the deer from the kitchen window while making tea at dusk and early morning. We all liked it so much that we have already booked for next year

Stunning setting - a real treat!

By Donna on 01-Sep-2015

The Foresters Lodge proved to be the perfect location for our 3 generation holiday. The cottage was ideal with a number of different rooms for us to separate when needed and the games room to bring us back together for lots of entertainment! We found the cottage beautifully presented with every detail thought of to make a perfect holiday home from home for us all. The setting was absolutely stunning with deer, ponies and donkeys walking right up to the windows, the stars at night were also a real treat - no light pollution here! Every window from this property has an ever changing view of the Forest and wildlife within it. It is such a peaceful place, yet only a short walk from the little shop, with friendly owner. We walked right through the Forest to the Lamb pub for lunch and also had a nice meal at The Green Dragon. Day trips included crabbing at Lepe beach - an unspoilt shingle beach with tea shop and play area, Furzey gardens - our girls loved looking for the fairy houses! Horse riding in the Forest and Beaulieu motor museum. We are all hoping to go back again in the near future. Thoroughly recommend a trip to this beautiful cottage in a real 'get away from it all location'.

Perfect holiday home

By Irene M on 08-Aug-2015

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful holiday at the Forresters Lodge. It was spacious, very well equipped and perfectly clean. The garden was beautiful and the addition of the games room perfect. Donna was there to welcome us when we arrived and showed us around giving us lots of useful information. She even left us a delicious cake that we very much enjoyed sitting in the garden! Everything was very efficient from booking confirmation to the directions we were sent. There were lots of books and leaflets advising places to visit and about the area. There is a local store about a 15 minute walk away which stocked most things and were very friendly and helpful. We also found the food and staff at the Green Dragon were great, about a 20 minute walk. We had a lovely time and were all sad to leave, especially my 7 year old grandson. We can't recommend this place highly enough. Thank you very much Donna.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location

By Carol N on 01-Aug-2015

This was our third year in this cottage over the summer with our family and we all feel like it is a second home now! Donna could not be more friendly and welcoming and we use this as a base to visit family in the area and enjoy the wonderful countryside - which is right on the doorstep. Donna has thought of everything you might need to make your stay comfortable. Will be booking again for next summer - and we all can't wait.

Immaculate and picturesque

By Anonymous on 25-Jul-2015

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful week at the Foresters Lodge and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful and tranquil get away. Each room is beautifully designed and had everything we needed. The owners had clearly thought of everything to make guests feel right at home. We even had a homemade cake to greet us on arrival! If you like the wildlife and outdoors, this is definitely the place to stay. The woods are a stone throw away from the lodge and we never tired of the frequent visitors of deer and horses passing throughout our stay. If you're thinking of booking this, do it! You won't regret it.
