Swallows’ Nest is our ground-floor annexe in Briston, nr. Holt, situated inland, 8 miles from the nearest beach at Salthouse.
We welcome short breaks all year and we have no set changeover day.

The Nest comprises self-contained single-storey accommodation in the annexe, adjoining our Victorian home, Devonshire House.
There is a shop, pub, bakery, butcher, greengrocer, Co-op and post office all within walking distance. Fresh crab, lobster and fish are available (in season) from the Norfolk Larder which is also within walking distance, and there are plenty of lovely rural walks for you and your dog. (We do not charge for our four-legged guests.)
Open plan sitting room/kitchen area: Stained glass front door opening into pleasantly furnished living area with two sofas, TV, DVD player, CD hi-fi/radio, bookshelf, WiFi. Dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, dining table and chairs.
Bedroom: Double bed with wisteria-clad window affording view across patio area and enclosed cottage garden. Tallboy with hanging space and three-drawer storage.
Wetroom: Electric shower, washbasin, heated towel rail and w.c.
Hallway/utility: With coat hooks leading into utility room with tiled floor.
Boot tray for wellies/walking boots, washing machine, steam iron and ironing board provided.
Garden: Utility opens on to patio area and leads to secluded shingle container garden (fully enclosed) with leafy seating area, coffee table and chairs to relax in.
Parking: Shared gravel driveway with owners. Garden access for dog owners with muddy paws.
Heating: Oil-fired central heating included.
Pets: One well-behaved dog welcome (no fee): see our dog policy.
Included: Bed linen, tea towels and towels provided (not beach towels).

What a gem this cottage is. Fully equipped with all you need and more, for a relaxing stay or to return to after a day out exploring in North Norfolk. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. From the moment you arrive you know you will enjoy your stay. Loved It. C&G.

Our stay at Swallows Nest was all too short, but (as Mary Poppins herself) practically perfect in every way. Lucy is the perfect host with fresh flowers and the most delicious home-baked brownies awaiting our arrival. The accommodation is in a lovely quiet location and is relaxing and comfortable, providing everything we needed. We cannot wait to return - hopefully longer for next time! Swallows Nest is a lovely place to stay. Our thanks to Lucy for going over and above to make our stay so warm and welcoming.

Swallows' Nest is a great base for exploring North Norfolk, about 5 miles from Holt and 10 miles to the lovely North Norfolk coast.
It is clean and very comfortable, there are lots of touches of luxury, super fluffy towels, delicious home made cake and flowers on arrival. Lots of up to date magazines, books and films are provided, everything you could need (dishwasher, washing machine etc).
I really enjoyed my stay and hope to return in the future.
