Description

Trelake Cottage is a cozy & peaceful 'Home from home', and is situated in an elevated position with far reaching views. A fully equipped kitchen leads on to a large, private, terraced & secure garden with various seating areas and is very well lit at night. Off road free parking is adjacent to the property and there is room for 2 standard sized Saloon cars. The cottage is within walking distance of Trebarwith Strand, the local tidal beach, the South West Coastal Path, various footpaths, Tintagel, St Nectans Glen, Boscastle and for the hard core walkers, in the other direction, Port Isaac. Being in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is little light pollution and on a clear night you will see a sky full of bright stars and if you are lucky, the Milky Way. it is in a convenient location to access many of Cornwalls' famous attractions and beautiful beaches.
Access is via self check in.
The space:
Parts of the cottage date back 450 years and benefits from a spacious lounge, which is cool in summer and cozy and warm with a wood burner, in Winter. You will find 2 generous sized bedrooms, a family bathroom with a bath/shower and a separate dining room. We can Provide the following for little ones: Travel cot with sheet, Baby bath, Highchair, Step, Potty. With the use of a travel cot, the cottage will comfortably sleep a family of up to 5.
Guest have access to all rooms apart from a 3rd bedroom which is used for storage and locked at all times to guests.
We are dog friendly - please contact Host for K9 House Rules and charges - and provide towels in case of inclement weather, metal food/water bowls, poop bags etc. We also have an outside hose incase of messy outdoor exploring. This can be accessed directly from the carparking area via a side gate, rather than taking your pet through the cottage.
Other things to note:
All local businesses have their own policies & procedures in relation to Covid-19 and we politely ask our guests to respectfully observe their policies. Visitors should check for further instructions. Many provide hand sanitiser at point of entry for customers use. Please check all websites of any hostelries & attractions to book a day & time slot to visit, when planning your holiday. This includes Tintagel Castle. Many of these can be pre-planned and booked before your stay and in the busy times I would recommend it is worth contemplating doing this, not just for days out, but also meals out, just to avoid disappointment.
Please Note: we have a minimum 3 nights stay most of the year, apart from July and August when we will only accept a minimum 7 nights stay
We respectfully request guests do not use the power supply at the cottage to charge electric vehicles.

Can't fault this lovely cottage

By Mike Gurr on 31-Dec-2021

Can't fault this lovely cottage - there is everything you could need for your stay (and much more besides!). The decor is beautiful and most important (to me), the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately the weather was bad during our stay so we didn't get to see much of the area, but we were warm and cosy inside. Would love to stay again.

Wow!

By Katie on 20-Nov-2021

Wow - what a place! On booking Trelake cottage I had high expectations after reading the glowing reviews and it did not disappoint, if anything it was better! The cottage was spotless and so cosy - 2 key things for us when travelling are a comfortable bed and good shower and both were great. Coming back to the cottage after a day out and sticking on the wood burner was such a treat! This was our first family holiday with our baby and Karen has a baby bath, high chair, travel cot, stair gate etc so we had a bit more room in the car when travelling down!! Over our stay Karen was the perfect host, responding to some questions we had about the area and even checked with her daughter about the best leisure centre for baby swimming. The location is a brilliant base for exploring the north Cornish coast - we would not hesitate in booking again or recommending to friends. Thank you Karen for sharing your lovely home with us!

Beautiful

By Sheena on 13-Nov-2021

This is a beautiful, very well appointed cottage. The garden too, is more expansive than we expected with hidden nooks. We really enjoyed our time here!
