A heavenly boathouse with contemporary interiors and a huge games room. You’re on the beach so hop in a kayak, fish, swim - bliss
Cornwall at its most quintessential. Tucked into a little cove is a house with a private slipway and access to the beach: sandy-shingle at low tide, picturesque at high; on fine days you can take to the river Helford in a kayak. The boathouse conceals a fresh and contemporary interior with a flexible layout (note the huge games room on the ground floor with TV, log-burner, DVDs, toys). On the first floor is a lovely sitting room with a sweep of wooden floor, a wood-burner for cosy nights and double doors to a furnished deck. Superb ash units from a Somerset craftsman grace the kitchen, with a drinks fridge and a pot to cook lobsters (don't miss the fishermen's catch!). Bedrooms are most comfortable and three face the shore – let the waves lap you to sleep; bathrooms are functional and fresh and there's a wet room next to the drying room for wetsuits and wellies. It's a brilliant place for lovers of old-fashioned holidays, a place to mess round with fishing nets in rockpools, jump in and out of boats and drink in lungfuls of Cornish salt air. Heaven too for coastal path hikers and birdwatchers.
Boat hire (sailing, motor, kayak) and moorings from St Anthony. Hired boats can be delivered to the beach or you can walk over at low tide.
2 Tennis courts available for hire in Manaccan (5 mins by car).
The house is on the coastal path so there are fabulous walks from the doorstep.
Tate Modern. National Maritime Musuem, Seal Sanctuary, Flambards are all within an hours drive as are a number of stunning gardens including Trebah.
2 High Chairs and 2 Cots provided upon request.
