The outside area has several eating/sitting spaces allowing for guests to enjoy basking in the sun if they wish or languish in the shade if they prefer. There is ample parking for at least 4 cars. We are happy to have small dogs as extra guests.
The house is a 10 minute walk from the village of Le Coux-et-Bigaroque which boasts a bar, wine cave (run by an Irishman and his English wife - so no language problems) a wonderful bakers/patisserie, a shop selling local produce, a small hotel/restaurant and a post office. There is also a lovely plage which has access on to River Dordogne. The town of Siorac-en-Perigord which is less than 1 mile away, has a superb supermarket, pharmacy and bakers. The area is exceptionally well served by markets and people travel some distance to visit the Sunday market at St Cyprien which is only a couple of miles from Le Coux.
Bergerac airport is 45 minutes away by car and is served by Ryanair and Flybe. During high season British Airways operate flights to Bergerac from London City Airport. If travelling by car the nearest motorway is the A89 and once coming off the motorway it is a 40 minute drive to the house.
Les Eyzies and its famous prehistoric museum is just a 20 minute drive and beyond that are the wonderful caves at Lascaux, a World Heritage site. The towns of Sarlat and Domme are less than 30 minutes drive from the house and the chateaux of Beynac, Milandes and many others are only 20 minutes away. The river Dordogne runs through the village and has a small plage which in high season has a small pop-up food outlet selling drinks, sandwiches and some hot food. Canoes can be picked up at various locations along the river including the pretty villages of Limeuil, St Cyprien, Beynac and Roque Gageac.
There are many superb restaurants in the surrounding villages and towns and in high season (July-August) the villages hold night markets, selling food and drinks. Long tables are laid out, all you need to do is take your own cutlery, set yourself up and wander around and choose from the vast choice available. If you wish, you could go to one every evening without travelling too far. The roads around the market are closed to traffic which make them all very family friendly.
The house is managed on our behalf by a local agency who will send out a formal contract and collect the deposit and the final payment. The keys to the house will be be collected from their office which is very nearby. They are also on hand throughout the stay to deal with any problems which may arise. We have found that this works extremely well as this gives guests peace of mind that help is not too far away if required. Please note that the price per week is shown in EUROS not STERLING.
We are unable to show any reviews as the house was previously on another site and we have not renewed our contract with them meaning we cannot cut and paste them on to this site - but they were very good!

We had a wonderful week in the Dordogne, and the sun shone everyday! The house was spotlessly clean and it is large and well designed with a lovely open plan kitchen and living space with amazing views. The house is well equipped with modern appliances. There is a downstairs bedroom with adjoining bathroom which was useful for my parents, and the 3 bedrooms upstairs are very comfortable with plenty of hanging space. The outside plot is very large with a wonderful pool which is beautifully secluded and landscaped. We had such fun in the various night markets as well as a great day canoeing on the river. We will be back!

We stayed here Summer 2019 myself, husband and 2 boys aged 9 and 12. It’s an easy transfer of about 40 mins from Bergerac airport where we hired a car, essential for this area of France. The house is up a hill with spectacular panoramic views of the region. Three bedrooms upstairs, one en-suite and one family bathroom and another bedroom and bathroom downstairs. Fully equipped house and kitchen, home from home. Stairs from the kitchen lead to a really good size swimming pool which the boys loved! Loads to do in the area, we enjoyed kayaking and fishing in the stunning Dordogne and went to a little stoney beach area a short drive from the house. Night markets are a must, visit the market in St Cyprian, great restaurants and overall a fabulous location for a family holiday. We will return!
