What Brings Us Back? It's Awesome

By Lyndall Paterson on 18-Aug-2017

My late husband and myself have stayed with Tim and Jenny at Calais View Garden Appartment many times since it first opened in 2007. We were their first guests who returned twice during our six month stay in uk. In 2011 we returned for another visit and after the death of my husband in 2013 I have returned three times by myself. I have it in my diary to return next year yet again. I am starting to feel like a local.
What brings us back?
Tim and Jenny are wonderful hosts who are very warm, friendly and generous hosts who are always a joy to catch up with. Also the area has much to offer with things to see and do.
The accommodation at Calais View is up with the best with what my husband and myself had stayed in over the nine months that we spent travelling uk in self catering cottages.
The warm welcome by our hosts who supply the best welcome package ever that compliments the extensive herbs, spices and lots of cooking aids makes it a very easy cottage to feel at Home away from home.
To wake up in the morning and look directly out from your bed across to Calais is pretty special.
I live in New Zealand and there is no way that I would visit UK without retuning to my favourite cottage and to catch up with two of the warmest hosts that one could ever meet.
This cottage is certainly 5 star and offers so much that is unexpected. Wifi ,phone calls, off street parking, washing machine and everything that you would require for a lovely holiday. The linen is very good quality and the cottage is spotlessly clean.
Visit Calais View agarden Apartment and I am sure that you won't be disappointed. Reading through their guest book you will see that they have many return
guests year after year from all over UK, Europe and from New Zealand and Australia.
It is awesome.

Could Not Ask For Anything More

By Jenn on 10-Feb-2017

We could not ask for anything more for our seaside weekend break! Comfortable accommodation, immaculate decor and cleanliness, fully stocked kitchen and gift basket, fabulous sea views and close to a lovely pub. We loved our stay at Jenny's place and would highly recommend it to others.

What An Amazing Place

By Kelly on 12-Dec-2016

What an amazing place! This was by far one of the best airbnbs I've ever stayed in. Communication with Jenny was perfect - she was lovely, informative and helpful every step of the way. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything and more than we needed! As we arrived late, she even went to the shop to make sure we had some food upon arrival. The Apartment is gorgeous - decorated beautifully and it was especially festive (as it was christmas) to have a sparkling Christmas tree and decorations. The view from the Apartment is unbeatable. Literally from your bed you wake up and all you can see is ocean (if you're blessed with sunny skies!) There's a delicious pub just a short walk away and more restaurants a short drive away in the little town. I would without a doubt recommend this place as I'm hoping to return one day as well!

Exceptional

By Shobha on 07-Nov-2016

In a word, exceptional. The location is fabulous, the decoration lovely, the eye for detail in terms of anticipating guests' needs is second to none. We loved the great wide views of the sea from the bedroom and the patio and were even able to breakfast outdoors. Jenny was great in helping us with the pre-visit arrangements and Tim kindly picked us up at the station, even driving us around the area, explaining local history, and pointing out good walks. Their warmth and hospitality were very much appreciated.

Another Perfect Stay

By Nick L on 09-Jul-2016

Back to Calais View for the second time was like coming home!
Everything was as expected and more, just perfect. Once again Jenny and Tim were the perfect hosts making our stay as special as they could.
The Apartment is really well equipped with everything you need for your stay, with a generous welcome pack, bread, butter, milk, cereals, jam, biscuits and a lovely bottle of wine gets you off to a good start. If you like making your own meals the kitchen has a good variety of herbs, spices, vinegars and oils.
The weather was very kind to us in the second week, giving us spectacular views to the coast of France, just nice to sit out on the patio and watch the world go by. Very relaxing, we shall return.
Thanks Jenny & Tim.

Terrific Seaside Bolthole With A View To Die For

By Alison T on 07-Jun-2016

We had a lovely stay at this peaceful retreat in a pretty spot on the White Cliffs coast. The flat was beautifully decorated and furnished and finished to the highest standard and there's an uninterrupted view of sea (all the way to Calais on a clear day) from the bedroom and terrace. The owners couldn't be more charming and welcoming. We'll be back.

Lovely Views, Lovely Accommodation

By F1DGEXLC on 16-Apr-2016

Jenny and Tim seem to have created a winning formula of a lovely location and accommodation that feels like you are a guest at a friend's house. They have great quality interior, and the forethought of getting the small things just right having the dressing table in the right light to get ready, (ladies will understand this one!) a lovely range of olive oils in the kitchen, plenty of kitchen utensils, a welcome pack with a bit of imagination (not just some sad custard creams) I could go on....
I have worked in a busy hotel when young, and as a housekeeper for a private school, my partner laughs because I always pack food and cleaning products, this is the first time I have stayed in accommodation where I have taken kitchen equipment out confident it is all immaculately clean and ready to use.
Over the years we have stayed in some pleasant locations but they all had that feeling a hundred 'bums'
had sat on seats and everything was slightly tired and jaded, everywhere in Calais View was 'showroom fresh'. I understand why many visitors return.

Excellent In Every Respect

By N.R on 08-Aug-2015

We had a wonderful two weeks holiday in this very well presented apartment. Situated in a stunning location, very well suited for walking, the beach and exploring the lovely country side.

The Apartment is very well equipped with attention to detail, clean and quiet. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

We can recommend this accommodation without any hesitation at all to people who appreciate quality.

Calm Tranquility

By Christine & George Percy on 10-Mar-2015

As soon as we entered the Apartment we sensed a feeling of calm. The interior design has been very carefully thought out to provide deep comfort. I know you may think cream can be a bit 'beigy' but trust us Jenny, the proprietor ,knows how to integrate a colour palette with nuances of colour and texture. It's truly delightful. The ambient lighting, the wooden floors, the generous sofas, the heating already on and cosy. The Apartment is in excellent condition. Box fresh as they say! The kitchen is generously sized and very well equipped. You'll not have to struggle to find anything [and we are cooks!]. The bathroom and bedroom offers a bit of a 'wow' factor. A touch of the 'boutique' hotel, at a fraction of the price! You can sit in bed and watch the wonderously changing rhythm of the sea. But perhaps what matters most is the warm friendly welcome. Being techno-phobes, when we couldn't work out the TV [despite very clear instructions!], Tim came to our rescue with a ready smile. Their hard work and commitment to our pleasure made the holiday a sheer delight. We say curl up on the sofa and read 'Coast' magazine, generously supplied, and dream of that fizzy cava soon to come your way! And oh yes the coastal walks, available from your doorstep, blow all your worries away and remind you what you are living for!

A Home From Home In Beautiful St Margaret's

By Steve W on 20-Feb-2013

We have stayed here multiple times because we love the place.

We have very high standards and all of these are met here. This Apartment is very clean and all you need is here. There's also a washing machine and a dishwasher.

The view from the bedroom is spectacular. Some days you can see France. The sound of the sea is calming.

Jenny is extremely efficient when dealing with all enquiries and nothing is too much trouble.

You are ideally located to explore all of Kent from here.

If you want to stay here book early - it's well admired.

This was our second visit to Calais-View appartement and both times it was wonderful. The view over the channel and the beach are really great and inspiring.

The appartement is comfortable, cozy and elegant. It is very well equipped and everything is designed tastefully and in beautiful colours.

A place for recreative and completely relaxing holidays.
