The Garden Room is a cosy self catering cottage located in the middle section of the garden of The Old Bakery in the centre of Georgeham near Croyde.
It comprises an original stone building that has been completely refurbished and extended to create a really intimate and attractive layout arranged in an L shape. The refurbishment has been carried out to a high standard aiming to keep the character of the original building whilst providing modern levels of insulation, warmth, comfort and accommodation making it suitable for year round use. The accommodation is open plan and comprises a bed room and sitting area in the original building with the kitchen/dining area and shower room in the extension. The dining area faces south west and has a large full height window looking out onto a private patio and decking area which is for your sole use and is quite a sun trap. The kitchen is equipped with a two ring ceramic hob, combination microwave oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, toaster and electric kettle as well as all the normal utensils, pots and pans etc. There are two 2' 6” single beds that can be zipped together to create a King sized double making the accommodation suitable for both singles and couples. There is room in the living area for a travel cot (not supplied) but no other beds are provided. There is a settee in the living area, a TV with Freeview and a ""smart"" DVD/Blue Ray player giving access to features such as facebook, iPlayer etc. Ultrafast broadband and WiFi are included in the price. Heating is provided by a wall mounted electric convector heater and fire effect electric stove. The full height window also provides a source of warmth in the winter on sunny days. Opposite the Garden Room is a patio and open, decked area for your sole use.
Children and infants: The cottage only sleeps two people but there is room for an infant if you bring your own travel cot. Nothing is provided for infants. If an adult wishes to stay with a child, please discuss its suitability with us first. Thank you.
Pets: Please note we do not allow dogs or any other pets. We do, however, have our own dog called Bobby. She is very friendly and loves company but if you are not keen on dogs, do let us know and we will do our best to minimise any contact with her!
Parking and Access: You can pull up in our driveway to offload then we ask you to park in the village car park which is almost opposite and free. Access to the cottage is down a number of steps so the cottage may not be suitable for people with limited mobility.
Rates: The rates quoted below are per week but we also have daily rates for minimum 3 night stays during the quieter winter months (October to May but excluding Easter). Normal changeover day from June to September is a Saturday. Please enquire for details.
Availability: We have cancelled all bookings to the end of May for now and will extend that as required. You are welcome to enquire about staying in June or beyond but any reservations will be subject to the latest government instructions/guidance and specifically what is appropriate for visitors wishing to stay in the south west.
