La Grange welcomes clients from around the world, including the UK, Germany, Canada, the US and Australia, every year. It is a large 6 bedroom/6 bathroom restored chai with superb views over a valley and vineyards. Well connected, it is 4kms from the market town of Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, Bergerac Airport is 25 minutes away, Bordeaux airport 60 minutes, Libourne high speed train station is 30 minutes away. The world famous wine town of Saint-Emilion is 35 minutes away to the West, with the beauty of the Dordogne to the East. The house offers Wifi, large screen home cinema and free to air satelite TV. Tennis, riding, golf, canoeing, fishing are all nearby.

The Setting
La Grange is a tastefully restored 18th century wine chai, sitting on a hill facing southwards looking over its surrounding vineyards and orchards. It is situated on a private laneway. The private swimming pool (10m by 5m), secured by a hard top cover, is situated in front of the house, across a small lane, and is right alongside the vines, providing glorious uninterrupted views. Tables, chairs, parasols and a bbq are provided for a perfect outdoor dining experience, and table tennis is available. There is parking for six cars.

All six bedrooms are ensuite and tastefully furnished for modern comfort. A grand stone staircase leads to the kitchen and living rooms on the first floor. There is a fully equipped, well stocked modern kitchen with electric/halogen stove, twin electric ovens, extractor, dishwasher, microwave and an American fridge/freezer. The top of the stairs is dominated by the wall-to-wall picture window with sliding doors which provide access to the 15 ft. balcony. Both the landing and hall are bathed with light with marvellous views southwards.

There are two large sitting rooms (dining and salon, 38ft by 30ft average) on either side of the house. Both rooms are characterized by vaulted ceilings, oak beams, stone walls and huge open fireplaces, giving you glowing fires on winter nights. Full-length double window french doors, equipped with safety railings, provide spectacular views southwards over the pool, garden and valley. The rooms are tastefully furnished with modern and antique furniture, large sofas and armchairs. A large dining table sits 12 comfortably in the dining salon, which has additional sofas and a large desk. There is a 10ft by 6ft large screen cinema system with DVD player and free-to-air satellite channels, for film, TV and music enjoyment. All towels and linens are provided.

Behind and underneath the staircase is the wine cellar, approached by a helicoidal staircase, which is ideal for wine-tasting by candlelight. A laundry room contains the central-heating and washing machine and drier. Central heating is available throughout the year upon request and for an additional fee. Housecleaning, linen-change, babysitting, musicians and chef are available as optional extras at separate cost upon request. While the house welcomes families, it is best suited to adult parties. Animals are welcomed with permission.
