Hollens Farm Cottage is a cosy and traditional 2 bedroom cottage for soaking up the scenery in one of the most beautiful parts of the Lake District. Our delightful Lakeland holiday retreat is full of character and charm. Tucked away within a small group of cottages only a short walk from Grasmere village centre, this is true Wordsworth Country.
There are 2 bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other has 2 single beds. The beds will be made up for your arrival but please note we do not provide towels.
There is a log burner in the sitting room and full central heating which is operated by the Rayburn oven. The cottage is also double glazed throughout.
A wonderful setting backing onto Stone Arthur, with unspoilt views from the Master bedroom across the village towards Silver Howe and Sour Milk Ghyll. Walks abound in every direction, you will find Hollens Farm Cottage a perfect bolt-hole to return to at the end of the day. Enjoy free Wi-Fi and Netflix which can be watched on our flat screen Smart TV.
The cottage is in a south facing courtyard with outdoor seating provided.

Ample free parking for 2 cars. One car may be parked in our courtyard and there is also space for a small car in front of our garage which is close to the cottage.

Minimum 5 night stay.
Saturday Changeover; Arrival time from 3PM, Departure 9.30AM Prompt

Electricity is included in the cost of your stay but Gas is charged by usage (depending on the time of year between £12 to £30 per week)
A £200 deposit is required to secure your booking and the balance must be paid in full 6 weeks prior to your stay. Payment can be made to ourselves by Cheque or Bank Transfer.
All payments received will be confirmed via email.

We ask that on the morning of departure our cottage is left clean and tidy, all dishes are washed and put away and if the log burner has been used then please clean it out.

Many thanks Clare, the place was perfect. Plenty of room and the aga and wood burner were a real treat for a few warm cosy evenings. Would highly recommend this place. Grasmere is a great base for exploring the Lakes and the village has all you need while at the same time being close to the main attractions of the Lakes. Excellent. Will definitely stay here again when we return to the Lakes.

A Very Cosy Cottage For A Mid-winter Break

This cottage is well-equipped, and for a winter break it is ideal, in that it is very well insulated with double-glazing in new sash-windows, thick walls, and some sort of heating under the bathroom floor. It stayed warm all day with the thermostat turned down, while we were out, and was perfectly pleasant when we returned. Also, the situation is excellent, with a pleasant five-minute walk into Grasmere village.

Absolutely Wonderful

This was our first visit to the Lake District and we loved it! Hollens Farm Cottage was wonderful! Characterful and homely. Aga and wood burner made the cottage warm and cozy after long walks. Cottage provided plenty of room and everything we needed. Everything within walking distance. We will definitely return!

Very Nice Old Cottage

Great location 10 mins walking distance to Grasmere village. Cosy and charming little cottage, well equipped. Bed was excellent. The Rayburn oven is a bit special as it needs some pre-heating for both cooking and baking, but no problem at all. Good WiFi. We would have preferred a dishwasher instead of the washing machine in the kitchen , but that's a personal comment, not a complaint. We would recommend the cottage, but also Grasmere as a perfect base to explore the Lake District.

Lovely Cottage, Full Of Character And Very Comfortable

We really enjoyed our stay, it was such a pleasure to return to after our long walks in the fells. The location is excellent, just a short walk into Grasmere village and plenty of good longer walks nearby. We didn't meet the owner but the instructions we were given were clear to follow. Would be keen to return to at some time in the future.

Lovely Cosy Cottage. Excellent Location

Hollens Farm Cottage is a beautiful characterful place to stay. The master bedroom is gorgeous with stunning views over the Grasmere countryside. The cottage is within easy walking distance of the village and lake and Wordsworth's Dove Cottage is literally just up the road. We did some excellent walks from the front door! We stayed in the heatwave of July 2018 so the ever-warm kitchen (due to the Rayburn) was not all that welcome but I imagine during normal English weather conditions coming home to a warm home would be delightful!

Perfect Getaway

We stayed for a week at the cottage and absolutely loved it - we went on many long hikes straight from the door. The size was perfect for 3 adults and everything was comfortable to use. We can't wait to come back again!

Perfect Cottage

We stayed in this lovely cottage with beams and a wood burner in January. The location is perfect for the Grasmere area. There is a pleasant short walk through the fields and over the river to the centre of the village. The facilities in the cottage are very good and it is clean and cosy. We had not used an aga before but the instructions were easy to follow.
It was ideal for our 3 year old granddaughter, as only a short drive to the Beatrix Potter Museum in Windermere.If you are looking for a traditional and quiet place to stay, this cottage is perfect.

Beautiful, Cozy, Traditional Lakeland Cottage In A Great Location!

We stayed here for a week in October 2017. The kitchen is warm and cosy and we enjoyed using the Aga, a great retreat at the end of long walking days. Everything about the cottage is top spec with loads of storage in the bedrooms. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a great view of Sour Milk Ghyll. The location is perfect and we did loads of walks from the cottage doorstep! Would highly recommend.

Fantastic Cottage

We had a fantastic week in Grasmere and this is a wonderful cottage. It was always warm and cosy as soon as you stepped into the front door and there was always plenty of hot water and I enjoyed drying the washing over the aga! It is a real charming cottage full of character and beautifully decorated, with everything that you could possibly need. It is also in a great quiet location with stunning views but only a few minutes walk from all of the restaurants in Grasmere. We have stayed in lots of cottages in the Lake District and this is one of the best! It was great that 'everything just worked' . A real gem of a place.

THE Place To Stay In The Lakes

Hollens Farm Cottage is as honest and traditional as you can find in The Lakes. Its combination of 'past and present' create the perfect Lakes retreat - something which is really hard to find nowadays. Claire and Mark work hard to maintain very high standards in the cottage, and that's the reason we continue to return to the cottage year after year. After a day out on the Hill, or simply having a lazy day, the cottage provides everything one could need. Its a really special place, and we love it.

We recently stayed (family of 3) at the cottage which was truly lovely. The location is perfect in the heart of the lakes. The property itself was tastefully decorated, cosy and clean throughout. We could not have hoped for a better place to stay and would certainly recommend to friends.

Quaint And Quiet

Our first stay here. Excellent location and very good communication with owners prior to, and during attendance. Lovely location just a short walk out of the village, just enough distance to make it feel like a proper holiday. Well appointed cottage with good parking facilities, log burner, decent size TV for those dark evenings, and Netflix so that we could watch a film in the evening. The Rayburn is the master of the house and cooking & hot water are its speciality, and we loved using it. All in all, a lovely place with all the natural historic charm one could wish for.
