Description

Put down your suitcases in a contemporary and chic space, bathed in light.
800 meters from the beach of Hermanville-sur-Mer (Sword Beach) on the Côte de Nacre, our cottage welcomes you in the residential leisure park “Le Clos des dunes”. The PRL is open all year round and has secure access.
You can park your vehicle directly on the plot.
This timber frame house can accommodate up to 4 people. It is entirely on one level; an access ramp leads to a very large decking area facing south. You will stay in a very calm environment : your only opposite is a small wood !
The cottage consists of:
- a large living room with corner sofa, armchairs, electric fireplace, dining table, 55 "HD TV with satellite receiver, DVD player
- a fitted kitchen (induction hob, extractor, microwave, dishwasher, Nespresso coffemaker, etc.)
- an adult bedroom with 140x190 bed, wardrobe and TV
- a child's bedroom with 90X200 bunk beds and chest of drawers
- a large bathroom (sink, walk-in shower, toilet, hair dryer)
- an independent shed with washing machine, lounge chair and electric plancha gril
- a 62 m² decking area with bioclimatic pergola, large dining table, garden furniture
For your entertainment, the sandy beach of Hermanville is 800 meters away. A small footpath takes you there in 10 minutes.
The market town of Hermanville is also 800 meters from the cottage. You will find various shops there: bakery, butcher, small supermarket, post office with distributor ...
The Ouistreham ferry station is 6km away from the cottage.
The region offers many places of tourist, historical and gastronomic discoveries.
Visit Caen, its castle and its abbeys; discover the places of remembrance of the Second World War and taste the wonders of Norman gastronomy (cheeses, cider, etc.) You will not be disappointed by your stay!

No rental below 3 nights.
For short breaks or special weekends (Christmas day, New year's Day, May Day Bank Holiday, Good Friday & Easter Monday...), the price per night is € 100.
The rates do not include the tourist tax collected on behalf of the "Caen la mer" urban community. This tax amounts to € 0.20 per night and per person over 18 years old. Payable on arrival.
Cleaning is mandatory : 50 € payable with advance payment

This was our first visit to Normandy and Le Cottage de Chouettes is perfectly located, just 3 miles from the ferry terminal at Caen and only 1km to Sword beach which is clean, vast and uncrowned. The property is a short walk to the local village which has a lovely bakery and a butcher. There is also a peaceful war memorial nearby. The owner greeted us on arrival and was very friendly and helpful. The property was immaculate and has every amenity you will need, including an oven, dishwasher and washing machine. The big plus is the large outside patio/decking area where you have complete privacy to relax and unwind. The property is perfectly located to explore the historic Normandy beaches and villages as well as Caen and Bayeux. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property as a great base to stay at if visiting Normandy.

Le Cottage des Chouette c'était notre vrai coup de cœur : très confortable et moderne, bien placé dans un environnement calme, tout y est prévu pour passer un très bon séjour.

Super cottage, très bien équipé. La déco est sympa, il y a plein de petits détails pratiques. Des jeux pour tous, des BD, une super plancha,... Les proprios sont sympas et à l'écoute. Endroit très calme, à mi-chemin entre la plage et le village (avec tous les commerces nécessaires). La connexion wifi n'est pas très bonne, mais elle fonctionne. Parfait pour se détendre ou comme base de départ pour découvrir tout le Calvados :)
