Two Hoots is a 3-bedroomed holiday cottage situated on a rural lane within the hamlet of Hodgeston. Located within the National Park within easy reach of the beach at Freshwater East Bay, midway between historic Pembroke and lively Tenby. The cottage was built in 2005 - a former outbuilding of Hodgeston Hall, the neighbouring Grade II listed building. Great care has been taken to empathise with its surroundings - the exterior being built of old, local limestone, whilst internally there is la feel of modern living.

The cottage sleeps 7 and has 3 double-bedded rooms - with an additional single bed in the largest room. There are modern bathrooms on both floors. A walled garden to front and rear make it very safe for the under 5's and the 'Access Only' lane outside ensures their further safety. There is secure parking for 3 + cars on the gravel drive.
There is plenty to do and see in this lovely part of Wales and clues to its Norman history and ancient past are all around, with the magnificent castles of Pembroke, Manorbier and Carew hosting events throughout the year. Water Sports, Karting, Horse Riding, Boat Trips, Fishing, Golf or Walking the coastal footpath are just a few of the holiday activities available.
Freshwater and Manorbier beaches are a firm favourite with surfers and kayakers, whilst Bosherston lilly ponds provides gentle walking and excellent fishing. The award-winning Barafundle Bay is within 5 miles and if walking (both seriously and leisurely) is your interest, the coastal footpath is at the top of the lane outside the cottage and you can hop on and off the Coastal Cruiser bus if you don't want to walk back! Whichever holiday activity you prefer - Pembrokeshire has the lot!

Reviews

total comfort

By Mary B on 13-Oct-2019

The cottage was brilliant for us - myself, sister, cousin, friend and dog. I cooked all our meals and was so impressed with the equipment provided. Often this is the downfall of rental properties, but not Two Hoots. we enjoyed the endless possibilities for walks. Definitely the best property I have rented so far. Many thanks for your attention to detail.

Lovely quiet family orientated property

By Janice M on 19-Sep-2019

We had an amazing week at two hoots cottage, the property was clean and very comfortable and in a lovely area. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for my elderly father and the enclosed garden was brilliant for his small dog. The beds are very comfortable and the cottage is much lager than it looks on the photographs. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage, we will definitely be returning in the future.

Impressed wow

By Anon on 08-Sep-2019

Wow from the moment we arrived we ( nan, grandad, mum, dad and three kids oh and the dog ) were really impressed. Plenty of space for us all and a large dining room table to sit around at the end of the day . So clean it was like a new build. Everything in the kitchen for cooking and self catering , we wanted for nothing. Beds were really comfortable and the village so quiet a good nights sleep was guaranteed. The garden is superb, sun all day Car parking is plentiful. All in all this is 5star plus ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would book this property again and highly recommend it. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Spectacular Pembrokeshire

By Alistair G on 06-Aug-2019

High quality accommodation. Quiet location, which we like, but close enough to local amenities. Totally dog friendly. Easy access to the glorious coastline. A great break.

Very comfortable in a quiet location

By John W on 06-Jun-2019

We really enjoyed our stay at Two Hoots. The property is in first class condition and very comfortable in a quiet location. We had no problems at all during our stay as full instructions were available both at the property and by email. The location is extremely convenient for the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. There is a pleasant pub overlooking the sea within walking distance (1 mile along a very quiet lane) which provides food.

Great holiday home at Two Hoots

By D Fowler on 29-May-2019

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Two Hoots. It was everything it had claimed: spacious, warm, modern, with every comfort one wants on holiday. But for me, one thing was important:safety. As a person of advancing years I chose Two Hoots because it had a downstairs room and en-suite,which I loved, and I wouldn’t have to worry about stairs. In fact I found the whole house so easy. The open plan kitchen/lounge was level and uncluttered,( loved the tiled floor,) and the entrance and gravel courtyard were so ideal for me. These factors are rarely mentioned in brochures but they are important for some of us and helped to make my first visit to Wales very enjoyable indeed.

Lovely property with access to good walks and a great beach

By Fiona L on 01-May-2019

Seven of us (four adults and three children) plus dogs visited this property for a New Years break. It was much bigger than I expected it to be so plenty of room for us all. The cottage was warm and welcoming. It has a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and good showers. We visited the local pub a few times after our walks and enjoyed the fact that they were very dog friendly, as is the beach. This was the first time I had visited South Wales and I would definitely like to return. A very relaxing few days had by all!

Perfect

By Lisa G on 31-Aug-2018

Two Hoots Cottage was perfect for our needs. Set in a lovely quiet village, in a lovely quiet position, yet not far from other local village shops and Pembroke Town (short drive). Beautiful beaches within walking distance if you like some exercise or otherwise a short drive.. Great for dog walking. The cottage itself felt like a good size for our family (2 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs). We had plenty of space and the cottage was practical and well equipped. Liked the enclosed space in the garden for the dogs. The owners of the cottage were very helpful with information before our stay and lots of information in the cottage of what to do and places to go in the area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

An Absolute Gem

By L Wilding on 30-Apr-2018

This is our forth stay at Two Hoots and as usual it did not disappoint. The excellent location allowed us to re-visit several lovely nearby beaches (Freshwater East), perfect for walking dogs and toddlers! To more robust walks through the stunning Bosherston Lily ponds (national trust) and onto new finds Broad Haven South beach, with its absolutely gorgeous little streams, bridges and caves galore! We also discovered a new beach at Manorbier with its own castle. Carew castle also worth a visit. Numerous beaches, castles, folly farm and of course Tenby is all within 20 minutes of Two Hoots! It made it so easy with a family, dogs and other friends who joined us. On arrival at Two Hoots we also discovered they’d put a brand new bathroom suite in upstairs with a wonderful corner bath and seat which my Son really enjoyed sitting in. I really enjoyed the new waterfall shower! The downstairs ensuite also benefits from another new brilliant waterfall shower and suite. The house is always warm and cosy with plenty of linens on comfy beds, a well arranged kitchen diner with all the facilities (washer & tumbler dryer were very usuful and straight forward ). The neighbors are lovely and always say hello, the drive way is spacious and secure and the garden is excellent for keeping in wandering toddlers/dogs! We had such a wonderful holiday and will continue to come back to Two Hoots ... already booking our next slot!

Bright and spacious!

By Lexa P on 28-Feb-2018

We had a very comfortable stay at Two Hoots. It's ideally situated close to Pembroke, Tenby and lots of really beautiful beaches. The children took the rooms upstairs and my husband and I had the downstairs ensuite. The sitting room has lots of space for a family of 5 to all sit and the kitchen is more than big enough with lots of storage. The garden and front drive are ideal for small children and dogs as it is totally contained by a wall and gate. We stayed in a chilly February half term but the cottage was lovely and warm. Wouldn't a little log burner be amazing though?! The two bathrooms were modern, smart and new with lots of hot water. Great downstairs shower!! Highlights for us were Pembroke castle, Bosherton ponds and walking onto all the lovely beaches. Great food at Stackpole Inn too. We would definitely recommend and love to go back to Two Hoots.

What a great place to chill with many beaches within a short distance

By Daniel B on 01-Feb-2018

The cottage is a lot bigger than it looks in the picture. Was a great place for 6 of us and a 4yo to bring in the new year. The kitchen was well equipped allowing us to cook every night. We will be staying here again. Great hosts who kept the place immacuate, they even put up an Xmas tree for us.

A charming cottage in a perfect location.

By Anonymous on 12-Aug-2017

We were in need of a relaxing holiday and that's what we had at Two Hoots! It is a beautifully furnished cottage with all the amenities you could need for a family holiday. I was particularly pleased to have a downstairs bedroom with en suite as I am not too good on stairs, and I was closest to the kitchen for the first cup of tea in the morning! The cottage is in a great location. The children made friends with the local cows and horses, and the cat next door. It was handy for some stunning beaches, although we didn't have perfect beach weather. There were plenty of things to do within an easy drive and we enjoyed the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside. We had a fantastic holiday and would love to return to Two Hoots sometime soon.

Perfect Family Friendly Cottage

By Simon G on 24-Jul-2017

We had a brilliant week in this lovely cottage in our favourite part of Wales. On arrival we were greeted by a well equipped, spacious and clean (very important!) property which we soon settled into. We discovered some new parts of this beautiful county and revisited a couple of our favourite places from last year - Folly Farm, Heatherton and Cafe Mor (Freshwater West) got the thumbs up from the children again. Personally, Manorbier castle and an hour boat trip to see Porpoises and Seals around Tenby were my highlights of this trip. The cottage itself was a great place to enjoy family meals, relax and plan our daily adventures and we would not hesitate in recommending it to anybody looking to stay in the area. Thanks again for letting us stay in your lovely cottage and also for the information in the welcome email. Hopefully, we'll be back! SG
