1 min walk to the white sandy beaches of Juan Les Pins, this stunning 2 bedroom south facing penthouse apartment with views of the sea, accommodates up to 6 people. The apt has a south facing suntrap main terrace plus a north facing terrace - both with patio furniture, sun loungers and retractable awnings. Full air conditioning and heating separately controlled in each room is also provided. 4 pairs of patio doors to 2 fully furnished terraces provide a wonderful level of natural light to this tastefully and elegantly furnished apartment, and is all you could want on the doorstep of the warm Mediterranean waters and beaches with the rugged backdrop of the Alps. Juan Les Pins, immortalised by Peter Sarsted’s “Where do you go to my lovely” is famous for its beautiful views along the coast and for its vibrant nightlife and many festivals throughout the year including the Jazz Festival in July and its August season of music with firework displays. Apart from its many water sports, the region is a golfer’s paradise. Juan-les-Pins merges with Antibes, home of the largest private yacht marina in Europe, which is situated next to the old walled town, with its many pavement cafés, restaurants, churches, art galleries and shops. Juan Les Pins is an obvious jumping off point for day trips East to Nice, Monte Carlo, the Italian border, and West to Cannes, St Raphael, Port Grimaud, and St.Tropez. Cannes famous for its film festival, with its picturesque villages of Mougins (gastronomic heart of the Côte d’Azur), Grasse (famous for its world-class perfumeries) and Vallauris (known for its pottery) is a short bus/car ride or a 9 minute train journey away. Bicycles can be rented locally and cycling, along the coast both ways to Nice and Cannes and to places in between, is very popular. Cycling to the old town of Antibes for a coffee is a mere 10 min ride.

Accommodation, equipment and services

Two double bedrooms (each with a double bed and its own terrace), 1 ensuite bathroom plus 1 main bathroom, 1 living/dining room with a fold-out double sofabed, 1 fully equipped kitchen, accessed through an archway, complete the accommodation of this delightfully bright holiday apartment. To assist with the sleeping accommodation, a self inflatable single bed is available, if required, which would be suitable for a child. If needed, we supply at no extra charge, a high chair (clip on to the table type) and a travel baby cot. For hygiene and health and safety reasons, we do not supply bedding for the baby cot.

Add to this, air-conditioning separately controlled in each room and you have all you could want on the doorstep of the warm Mediterranean waters and white sandy beaches – all of which provide the main physical attraction for the holiday visitor to the French Riviera, famous for its beautiful views along the coast, which can be enjoyed by car or by using the excellent train or bus service. The beautiful white sandy beaches of Juan Les Pins and Antibes are the first sandy beaches you come to travelling from Nice. On days when you just want to hang out - go for a swim down at the beach and dry off in the luxuriously comfortable sun loungers on the apartment's main south terrace or get away on your own with a chilled beer to read in a lounger on the smaller north terrace. 3 separate retractable awnings (sun shades) afford as much or as little sun shading on the terraces as you require.
While bath and hand towels for each of our guests are included in the rent, you may also, if you wish, hire larger beach towels for €3 each, payable locally to our agent when you arrive. In the era of airline weight restrictions in which we now live, this particular facility is proving very popular with our guests. Also, beach chairs and beach umbrellas and some other beach items (balls, goggles/snorkels) are available in the storage box on the main terrace, and may be taken to the beach.
Given the very good local bus and train services, it is not at all necessary for our guests to have a car during their stay with us . However, for guests with cars, there are 2 dedicated parking spaces side by side in the underground car park for their exclusive use. The car park is accessed through a garage door opened with a remote control with lift access then from the car park to the apt.
The apt is equipped with free WIFI and a TV with the basic UK Sky package with 100's of UK free to air channels and all RTE and BBC radio channels. Through our SFR phone line, we also supply 100's of French TV channels. A hair dryer and iron and iron board are provided and also a floor safe for our guests' valuables, at no extra charge.
Smoking and pets are not permitted in the apartment.
This apartment is co-owned by 2 families who live in Dublin – the O’Kelly’s and the O’Hogan’s, who are both friends and partners in this business. Ciaran O’Kelly, who generally handles enquiries and bookings, is a retired registered architect - and now a retired member of the RIAI (Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland) and a former member of ARCUK (Architects' Registration Council of the United Kingdom) when he worked as an architect in Guildford, London and Edinburgh in the 70ies and 80ies. More recently he was the Director of Buildings in DCU (Dublin City University) from 1985 to 2003.
