A comfortable, clean and cosy cottage in an excellent location.

By Paul M on 10-Oct-2018

Myself, my wife and our dog spent a very enjoyable week at Number 3. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and warm and benefits from a utility room which is really handy for storing your holiday equipment, coats, boots and dog paraphernalia if you have it. The presence of the boiler in the utility makes it a useful 'drying room' although with a week of glorious sunshine we had no need of it. Kingston is a lovely location for exploring the South Hams area, with beautiful beaches, coastal path and the estuary readily accessible by foot and much more within a 30 minute drive. The enclosed garden has a sunny aspect, perfect for an al-fresco coffee or lunch, and is also secure and dog friendly. Liz dropped by to check all was well with us which was much appreciated. Overall I thoroughly recommend it as a base to explore this beautiful part of Devon.

Amazing week, we wish we could have stayed there longer.

By Miroslaw R. on 08-Sep-2018

The cottage was very clean and cozy, walking distance from great beach and footpath over the cliffs with breathtaking views. The mattress was so comfortable that it was difficult to get off it in the morning and the wood burner was very useful on the rainy days. Great location for exploring the South Devon. The owners have been very welcoming and helpful. Thank you very much.

Lovely country cottage for a relaxing break away

By Laura, W on 07-Sep-2018

The property was as described. Very nicely finished and furnished. Everything you need, but nothing you don't need. The garden was lovely for the children to run around in. Also having the pub and play park within walking distance was ideal for us as a family! We would recommend this house! Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.

lovely little cottage, in a super location.

By Emma, H on 22-Aug-2018

We all had a very enjoyable week at 3 rock cottage. It has a lovely private garden with use of bbq. The village of Kingston Is lovely and quiet! it has a fantastic pub called the Dolphin inn which does great food, there are lots of fantastic beaches around the area to explore. you can walk the lanes from the cottage to womwell beach which we did a few times, it takes about 30 minutes! its a lovely quiet beach as there is hardly any car parking spaces. there is easy access to the coastal paths if you are into walking. We would definitely be back in the future!!

The cottage was beautiful, very comfortable for me and my family. The cottage had a lovely garden and there was a great park around the corner which was great for the children. We visited some beautiful beaches which were just a short drive from the cottage. We would highly recommend this cottage.

Excellent, recommended

By Mark, D on 15-Jun-2018

The owners, Liz and Jerry were there to greet us and they treated us like old friends. I knew this was going to be great accommodation from the outset. The cottage had plenty of space for us. It was very clean, cosy and very well furnished. We had everything we needed. Unfortunately, my wife was so comfortable in the king size bed I may have to by a new mattress. There is a very nice garden in which to enjoy eating al fresco in the evening when the weather is kind. Our Airedale Terrier enjoyed exploring it, so if you have a pet this is the holiday cottage for you. Liz recommended some nice places to visit and we can recommend Ayrmer Cove and Wonwell Beach. She also recommended local places to eat out, which we tried and thoroughly enjoyed. Although the Dolphin Inn on our second visit on the Friday night was hectic. All in all Rock Cottage is lovely accommodation as a base for exploring the South Hams and I would definitely stay there again if we revisit the area.

A wonderful weeks holiday at this country cotttage

By Colin T. on 13-Jun-2018

We had a lovely week at number 3 Rock cottage which had enough room for four adults and our two dogs. The weather was perfect for walks with the dogs to the local beaches and we also spent a couple of days on the huge Bigbury Bay north beach where dogs are allowed during the summer. The local roads were a bit of a maze being only single track but we soon found our way about thanks to a detailed map provided by the owner . The cottage was very clean and tidy and the owner Mrs Barnes was very accommodating. We found a couple of local pubs which provided us with delicious meals. I would recommend this property especially for dog owners.

The perfect getaway

By Katherine L on 17-Sep-2017

The cottage had everything we needed, great kitchen, Wifi and a very comfortable bed. The cottage is well placed for walking, birding and going to the beach. A wonderful base to discover South Devon including Burgh Island and Salcombe. We walked to the beach daily and the two local beaches are dog friendly. The garden is beautiful and completely enclosed, the dog had a great time. Ideal peace and quiet for total relaxation.

Fascistic place to stay

By Sue.C on 11-Nov-2016

We booked this very late. Liz was helpful and effecient throughout. We arrived late and in the dark but Liz had been and put the lights on in the house and outside and also switched the heating on. It was lovely to step inside out of the cold and dark. The cottage was spotlessly clean. It was full of character and tastefully decorated in. It was very well kept and there was lots of attention to detail. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. There were games, films, books and magazines. There was an information and visitors book full of ideas about walks and places to eat. Liz came around the first morning to check everything was ok. The cottage was in a great situation. It was easy to walk to the local beaches and the coastal path. Ideal for dogs. There was plenty to do and the scenery was beautiful. There was a nice sunny garden that was great for our dog. It felt like home from the moment we stepped inside. Thanks for a great time.
