Set in the heart of rural Yorkshire, “The Escape” provides comfortable, spacious, luxury, self-catering holiday accommodation for 2 people. (There is a very comfy sofa bed to allow a maximum of 4). This is an ideal location to relax and soak in the atmosphere of this beautiful part of the country.
Converted in a loving and sympathetic style, the furnishings reflect Philip and Jane’s love of the eclectic and their passion for travel. With large bi-folding doors out onto a private patio that boasts 20 mile views over the Vale of Pickering, this is a real escape. The open plan living room which is 30 foot long is stocked with all the mod cons one would expect. The under floor heating, the high ceilings and the old wooden beams mean the place is oozing with character while the modern wood burner adds an extra dimension to cold evenings. The bedroom is flexible with either two 3′ 6 pocket sprung beds or zip and link to create a huge 7 foot double. The linen provided is of lovely quality with a throw and cushions to finish off the look.
There is a fabulous designer bathroom, with a proper shower in the bath as well as toiletries, bath robes and fluffy towels.
We also include this in our Bed and Breakfast offering if you so wish. This makes for a really secluded and romantic escape. The escape serviced cottage comes with a complimentary shop, tea and cake on arrival, two maid services per week, on request, and wood for the wood burner (though it is more for atmosphere rather than necessity as we have under floor heating throughout).
We accept well behaved dogs by prior arrangement for a fee though they are not allowed in the bedroom, on the furniture or to be left alone. We would love to look after you. Prices start from £100 a night for a three night stay. Please contact us for availability.

"The Escape" was perfectly named - an ideal location set in beautiful surroundings with unspoilt views of the Yorkshire Dales. The accommodation was extremely well equipped and very comfortable. The welcome pack was excellent; and added extras such as flowers, bath robes and complimentary toiletries an extra treat. Jane and Philip the owners were friendly and helpful. An excellent holiday property perfect for a couple looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

What a lovely spot nestled in between Kirkbymoorside and Gillamoor. Stunning countryside all around and loads of space for the kids and dogs and a short drive to many of the area's attractions. A real treat having a bathroom for each room. Would definitely book again, loved it!

We stayed at The Escape for a weekend in November and would definitely recommend it. The cottage is beautiful and is really well-located for heading out for a walk. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival (our dog included!), and very much enjoyed the treats that were left for us. The kitchen is well-equipped and the whole cottage has clearly been well thought out. We were really pleased that there were some lovely walks right by the farm, rather than having to drive somewhere and park up first. It was a chilly weekend when we visited but it was always lovely and warm in the cottage because of the underfloor heating - we had to turn it off for ages just so it could be cold enough for us to enjoy the novelty of the woodburner!I have one question - could you please tell us what the fragrance in the reed diffuser on the dresser was? It was lovely and I completely forgot to ask when we left! Thank you for a lovely stay. Hide
