A property that can be highly recommended from various aspects. The two houses are both well planned and exceptionally equipped; really there was nothing lacking. The open kitchen was great for communal cooking and each of our two families had ample space for ourselves. The village is very quiet but not far from shopping and a host of culteral sites. We especially enjoyed biking the area which is simply gorgeous with good, little traveled roads. A perfect get away location for one or two families. Burgundy at its best.

Perfect family and group location
By Hannah R. Reading, England on 29-Sep-2016
I have stayed at this location with a group of friends and had an excellent time exploring the local area and enjoying the local cuisine. There are some stunningly picturesque villages which had me snapping away contentedly. The house itself has a lovely terrace which overlooks a vast valley. Many a happy night has been spent sipping Cremant (the local bubbly) and star gazing. The house has brilliant facilities and plenty of space so you can dine together then find a quiet spot to finish your book in peace. Infact, I had so much fun with my friends that after I had my daughter I went back, taking my parents and stepson. Even across the generations this house was perfect with a pool and small games room. And if you do forget that book - dont worry the owners have kindly left a broad range for your persual.

Immaculate family home
By Peter C. on 26-Sep-2016
We've stayed at La Pailotte on 2 occasions - both with a larger group of several families. We had an amazing time....
Exposed beams, white walls and treasures gathered by the owners - it really feels like you are staying in a much loved family home....
We spent our time lazing by the pool, playing boule on the driveway, going for runs on quiet local roads and visiting local villages for fabulous food.....we might have had a drop of burgundy....
The house was beautifully clean and well equipped.....
We'll certainly be back time and time again!!!!

This is an ideal location for families looking for a self contained, peaceful, comfortable, and enjoyable holiday in a highly desirable location.
The properties are excellently equipped for families of varying sizes, and with a wonderful swimming pool in an idyllic setting. Nearby shops offer easy access for all your self catering requirements.
The location is close to Semur which offers a good selection of eateries for when you would rather eat out than slave away in the kitchen.
There are ample opportunities for exploring nearby, and slightly further afield, towns and villages...many well worth the additional effort.
All in all this is a great location for families of all ages.
We made memories, and will most certainly be going back to make more.
Thanks to the owners for living up to our expectations of the property :-).

Peaceful, rural and amazingly well-equipped
By James M. on 26-Sep-2016
We have stayed here a few times over the years and have always loved the peaceful location.
The facilities in the house are great and Richard and Caroline have always been very helpful in recommending where to go, and in keeping the pool in top order (when it's hot, the pool is an absolute necessity!).
Semur-en-Auxois is a beautiful little town with some great restaurants and lovely riverside walks and you are within striking distance of the main wine region to the south - about 45mins away.
The kids loved Parc L'Auxois this year, a zoo and playpark 25km away and we managed a day trip to Paris by TGV - 1 hour by TGV!!
It's a great place for dogs, too, because the whole property is fenced and secure. Oh, and make sure to stay up and watch the shooting stars from the balcony - the night sky is simply stunning.
We will definitely be returning in 2017.
