Description
Gospenheale is Cornish for “the settlement in the nook at the edge of the moor”. This perfectly describes the beautiful setting for this barn conversion, providing award winning 4 star self catering holiday accommodation for up to 6 people. The holiday let has been inspected by Quality in Tourism and has been awarded 4 star GOLD status every year since we joined the scheme. In 2017 we were delighted to receive a (ROSE) Recognition Of Service Excellence Award from Visit England.The property is ideal for holidays and also perfect for people visiting family and friends in the Launceston area. We offer a £100 discount for couples sharing one bedroom and also £100 off for fortnight bookings. Please check our website for details of any other current offers and for short break availability. We may also be able to accommodate you for longer stays when moving house or needing furnished accommodation for a few weeks.
Set alongside our farm in a quiet hamlet the cottage enjoys wonderful views of the North Cornwall countryside. Gospenheale Barn near Launceston, has been carefully converted by an excellent local builder giving a unique feel to the property with many character features. Both the North and South Cornish coasts are easily accessible with sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs and quiet coves. For those who like walking there are miles of country footpaths to explore. The historic market town of Launceston is just 5 miles away, offering a range of shops and services.
The open plan first floor living area has exposed oak A-frames, wooden floors and beautiful views across the patchwork of local farmland with Dartmoor in the distance. The lounge has a Smart TV, DVD player, comfy Laura Ashley leather sofas (new in 2018) and a selection of books, games, toys and DVD’s for guests to use. Free Broadband is provided. A large kitchen area has been fitted with electric hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washer dryer. The French windows open onto the original granite steps which lead down to a large garden, patio and parking area.
The ground floor benefits from underfloor heating and porcelain tiles throughout. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and an ensuite shower room and wc. The twin bedroom has 3 foot beds which can be zipped and linked together to form a very large double on request. There is a further single bedroom with a pull out 2′ 6″ bed available. The family bathroom has a large bath with a shower over it.

The location is a perfect 'jumping off' point

The Barn really is a very special place and we would be hard pushed to think of a better equipped or stocked house in our 30+ years of self catering - and the scones were delicious! The location is a perfect 'jumping off' point for not only most of Cornwall - coasts and inland - but also North Devon and Plymouth. Perfect for people like us who want to explore and experience everything Cornwall has to offer and then come back to a warm welcoming environment, comfy beds and plenty of hot water! And its so close to the A30 with very easy access and so near to shops etc in Launceston and some good pubs for suppers. We will, as the saying goes, be back!

Wonderful hosts, wonderful property, wonderful location Would definitely stay again and will recommend to friends And Bob the dog is awesome (Make sure you check out the dvd showing the build of the property) I would recommend this place heartily Thank you David and Bridget for a lovely week

They provided lots of useful information about places to eat. The Eliot Arms and Thd Rising Sun were excellent. Cannot wait to go back,
