Jopes Lodge is a romantic hideaway on the banks of the River Seaton. Originally an artist's studio it has been converted to an extremely high standard to provide luxury open plan accommodation. A key feature is the large (4m x 4m) covered terrace overlooking the River Seaton. This is heated for cooler evenings and is the perfect place to relax - with the sound of the river as a backdrop you might want to spend your whole holiday here!

Inside the Lodge is approximately 8 metres by 4 metres. It features a newly fitted and well equipped kitchen, slate floored bathroom, wood burning stove, smart tv, etc. The double bed has a pocket sprung mattress and hotel quality bedding. There is high quality wooden flooring throughout the living, kitchen and bedroom areas.

Visitors to Jopes Lodge have unlimited private access to 5 acres of riverside gardens and woodland, including 400 meters of the beautiful River Seaton. Whether you want to take a stroll around the many paths and lawns, have camp-fires in the fire pits, or just sit and watch the river go by, this is the perfect setting. At the end of the garden is a 50 metre long waterlily lake which is in bloom through until September.

Jopes Lodge is only 3.5 miles from the beach at Seaton - it's a beautiful walk along the river to the sea. Looe is 10 mins away by car and Polperro 20 mins. Looking inland Bodmin Moor is only 15 mins away. There is a huge range of things to do in the area, from spectacular coastal walks to National Trust houses and gardens. For all its beauty, SE Cornwall is less well known, and less busy, than many other parts of Cornwall.

The Lodge has superfast broadband wifi.

For larger groups the nearby Jopes Mill can be booked at the same time - SimplyOwners reference P217476

Jopes Lodge

By Matt and Maria Ellswood on 17-Jul-2021

We stayed at Jopes Lodge earlier this year and had a great time. The accommodation was perfect for the two of that travel light. We really enjoyed using the outside space to relax, read and unwind. The surroundings are beautiful and ripe for exploration. Nick and Sally were incredibly welcoming and helpful, for example, when our parents visited they offered to help with a larger table and any other items that would be useful. We were a bit constrained by the weather and amongst the relaxation still managed to get to Looe, Fowey, the China Fleet spa and a day out in Plymouth on the train. We would definitely return to Jopes Lodge.

Jopes Lodge

We really enjoyed our stay in the lodge. It was the perfect accomodation for bad weather because the cosy, pavilion-like building gave us unobstructed views of nature, even when the rain kept us indoors. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and there were lots of opportunities for lovely walks nearby. :-)

Jopes Lodge

By Mike and Shelley on 21-Jun-2021

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the beautiful Jopes Lodge. This place is stunning. The lodge has everything you need and the owners Nick & Sally really have thought of everything to help make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. The lodge has more than suitable heating ( including on the veranda). The log burning stove just finished it off perfectly, and works a treat! Logs are provided and there are wood stores within the beautiful, tranquil gardens that you can help yourself to. There are several areas to walk around the gardens, which have been beautifully maintained. You can wander up the steps into the woods or sit by lilypad lake. The location is excellent with Looe, Polperro & Fowey, just to name a few within easy access. We went pony trekking at Great Trethew Trekking which is 5 minutes drive and we’ll worth a visit. Looe to Polperro walk is a lovely scenic walk with spectacular views. The lodge is spotlessly clean and the sound of the stream running by the lodge just adds to the relaxing feel of the place. There is a purpose built fire pit just in front of the lodge by the stream. It’s worth a read of the welcome pack as this tells you everything you need to know for the lodge and surrounding areas. Nick and Sally are very hospitable and are on hand to help with anything without being intrusive. The lovely cream tea and apple juice on arrival is a nice touch. It is clear from the moment you arrive that Nick and Sally have put their heart & souls into making this the perfect place to stay. Only negative thing is that we didn’t have long enough. Can’t wait to return
