We have now stayed at this stunning apartment for the past 3 years (flat 2), and this year we stayed in flat 1 with the rooftop terrace. I cannot recommend this place enough. It is a quiet location overlooking the Cobb and Harbour, but yet a stone's throw from all the amenities including the Cobb Arms which has lovely food. Ali is friendly and very accommodating. There is also parking which is fantastic as Lyme Regis has limited parking (especially in the busy season) so this is a great added extra. We would recommend this to anybody and will be back soon! Purely for background, we have been coming to Lyme Regis for years for our annual ‘staycation’, although until 2014 we used nearby Seaton as a base, as a close friend had a second home there. When the option of a holiday base at ‘mates rates’ in Seaton unfortunately went away, we started looking at Lyme Regis directly, and in 2015 we stayed in one of the flats in Ozone Terrace right by the Lyme Cobb Beach. Fast forward to July 2016, when we stayed in Penthouse Apartment 1 for an absolutely joyous (and much superior) week, and I will mention that I have already made a July 2017 booking, and see no reason why this will not be repeated in 2018 and beyond. The images on Owners Direct dedicated to Penthouse Apartment 1 do not do the property justice, with the exception of the Lounge area. The roof patio is much larger than shown and there are sun loungers, extra folding chairs and a barbecue up there. The owners have thought of everything and provided a solution, with the ‘general store’ style shops at the street level of the apartment selling perishables (e.g Milk) and any essentials not already in the apartment. The property is immaculate and the standard of facilities provided is very high; e.g. TV * 2, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer are all quality brands. The en-suite in the double bedroom is a necessity for an apartment of this size and again is fitted to a high standard, as is the main bath/shower room and toilet. We ate out in the extremely good Cobb pubs and restaurants, but there is an electric oven with gas hob, cooking utensils, pots and pans, etc. needed for cooking in. We spent most days on the sandy Cobb beach, with post-meal evenings spent on the roof patio enjoying our own company, then using the two extremely comfortable (and very high quality) futon sofas to seat the family for web-surfing and/or TV watching. Our sons are 20, 18 and 16 so we did 'grown up' things, but for younger families there is an amusement arcade, crazy golf and table tennis. As a previous reviewer has mentioned, the property is in a superb location for families with young children, as the sandy beach is literally a two minute walk from Harbour House, and there are also shops, toilets, restaurants and pubs on your doorstep in the event you need pretty much anything. In summary, I cannot recommend Penthouse Apartment 1 of Harbour House highly enough; it is an absolute gem that I wish I had discovered some years ago.
The property is in a fantastic location for a family with young children. Our group comprised 2 seniors , 2 adults and 3 children under 10. The flat has a good layout with very good fixtures and fittings, very clean with a great roof top terrace which was ideal for relaxing and a BBQ. We had intended to do some touring but we never left Lyme Regis during our week's stay, with a lovely beach, fossil hunting, amusements and good local restaurants nobody wanted to explore further. We were very lucky with the weather but bad weather would seriously reduce your options and getting in and out of Lyme Regis can be tiresome.The owner provided accurate information about the flat and was generally helpful.
