Came here for a much needed break over new year period. Went by the previous reviews and pictures. We arrived mid afternoon and the house was ready to walk in and use. Even the small things you don't normally see at a rental were there, hand soap throughout, kitchen was FULLY stocked including foil, clingfilm and a complete array of pots and pans, everything you could need was there. The owner Barry popped round after about 20 minutes and said hello and ran us through the place, such a friendly and welcoming person. The Hot tub took a bit of getting used to but once we had sorted out the fire - New Years eve spent in the tub with a glass and clear sky :) Milford on Sea only 10 minutes away, great walks through the marshes and along the front finished off with a pint and dinner in the Red Lion. We will definitely be coming back here so once again - Thank you Barry

Very pleasant and enjoyable stay

The property is located about 2/3rds of a mile from the nearest shops, pub restaurant and chippy - it is a drive rather than a walk along a relatively busy country road without a pavement. It is exactly as described in the particulars. and the owner, Barry is prompt in replying to bookings and questions. Using the postal code of the property finds the road quite easily noting that the cottage is actually found by turning left by the Christmas tree sign! We were a party of four adults with one two year old and a travel cot and high chair were provided. The twin bedded room is further from the lounge/diner and has the space to accomodate the travel cot. Everywhere was very clean and the electric showers have a very good flow of water at a good temperature. The lounge/diner has an induction infra red cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and spacious fridge freezer.together with comfortable seating. We enjoyed our stay very much and whenever help or advice was required it was provided very promptly and willingly.

This cottage was just what we wanted, quiet, private, a very relaxing holiday. The owner Barry was very friendly and helpful, he was next door if we need him but also respected our privacy. The Swedish hot tub was absolutely brilliant and myself, two sons and husband spent every evening in it after a long day out sight seeing. This cottage is based in just the right location for sight seeing as it never seems to be far from a sea-side if you fancy a day at the beach, or a long walk in the New forest. This is another holiday cottage I will be coming back to in the future.

Poppy's cottage is in a great location to tour the New Forrest by day and relax at night. The owners Barry and Anne are very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. The cottage is well equipped. The hot tub is great to help you relax after a day out. Thanks to Barry he had it ready for us on our return and we were welcomed by the smell of the wood burner heating the hot tub.

The cottage is clean and tidy, with all that you will ever need. The hot tub is a lovely addition, it did take a little while to heat up but it is December and cold out! However Barry, the owner, was more than happy to help and stock the fire while we went out. The location is great for both a short drive to the coast or lovely walks in the new forest. I would definitely recommend to my family and friends.

We have just returned from our stay at Poppy's cottage with our two children (11 and 7). The accommodation and facilities were way beyond our expectations. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming. We were extremely lucky with the weather and able to take full advantage of the wonderful secluded garden. The hot tub was a big hit! We had worried about keeping the kids entertained in the evenings (having previously always stayed at holiday parks with evening entertainment), but we needn't have been concerned! We spent several lovely evenings in the garden, using the BBQ and hot tub. The owners were even kind enough to allow us to pitch our (small) tent in the garden so our son could 'go camping' ! It was an absolutely fantastic place to unwind and simply enjoy chatting, laughing and being together as a family. The twin room is down a short corridor, accessed via a door from the lounge/diner. It has a lovely en suite and is a good size. The children were thrilled as they felt they had their own wing of the house! The double bedroom was extremely comfortable, and storage was plentiful. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped. Absolutely every utensil you could possibly want! It was a wonderful, peaceful base from which to explore, though you may not want to leave the cottage to do so! I would definitely recommend Poppy's Cottage, we hope to return!

We've just returned from 4 days away in Poppy's cottage with our year old son. The amenities were brilliant and after a day out sight seeing, the hot tub worked wonders. We used the hot tub three evenings and couldn't get our 7 year old out of it :-) Barry the owner was friendly, helpful and informative about the local attractions, he also made us feel very welcome and ensured we were comfortable. We would defiantly recommend Poppy's cottage and will retuning ourselves, as its a great base to visit the surrounding areas such as Lymington, Pool Key, Isle of Wight etc. After a busy day out getting back to Poppy cottage and just relaxing in the tranquil surroundings was perfect.m
