Description
The Perigourdin Barn is approximately three hundred years old, situated in one acre of mature gardens within the grounds of Les Joinies Ouest. It has been very tastefully renovated, exposed oak beams are a feature throughout this property which has been converted into high quality self catering accommodation. Our high level of returning visitors and their recommendations over 23 years of providing high quality accommodation, all of which is documented in our visitors books, gives our new visitors piece of mind when choosing to book their holiday.
The Barn is situated 7 kms from the market town of Le Bugue in the little village of Mortemart.
Opposite is an 18-hole golf course with restaurant, considered as one of the best in the Dordogne. Also canoeing, fishing and horse riding are within easy reach as are many excellent restaurants. We are ideally situated for visiting the many delights of the Dordogne.
Private Swimming Pool A few metres from your terrace is your own private swimming pool, 8m by 4m. This is fully alarmed and is also completely surrounded by a fence with a locked gate. Alongside are sunloungers with cushions. Garden furniture parasol and charcoal barbecue are on the terrace.
There is private parking.
The barn is totally secluded, overlooking its own pool, with views over the fields and woodland. There is a large plantation of bamboo where several species of birds can be seen and heard. Foxes, badgers, hoopoes, woodpeckers, buzzards and kites are just a few examples of our wildlife.
Accommodation: Very spacious and to a high standard
The open plan living area is light and spacious with two sets of french windows leading on to your private terrace. Inside there is a comfortable leather settee and two chairs. There is also a large modern flat screen HD ready television (with all English free to air channels) a DVD player and selection of DVDs are supplied and a CD player. Also a good selection of books and board games are provided. Excellent WiFi connection.
Gas central heating and a wood-burning stove make it an ideal property for low season letting.
The kitchen/dining area is equipped with a fully fitted oak kitchen and has a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, full-size cooker, microwave, kettle, iron and ironing board. Kitchen towels are provided.
There is a dining table with four chairs.
The downstairs bathroom comprises of a shower, toilet, sink and shaver socket
The double bedroom, which has lovely views over the pool and garden, has a double bed and ample furniture. There is an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and shaver socket
The second bedroom, which has lovely views over the pool and garden, has twin beds and ample furniture. All beds have duvets and pillows
All bed linen plus one bath towel and one hand towel per person are provided.
Smoke alarms are installed upstairs and downstairs.
