Sea Drifters Cottage was built as a miner's cottage back in the 1860s. Typically Cornish it offers both a perfect getaway for the small family or a romantic hideaway for couples. Walk down the lane to the local pub in Paul, or further down to Mousehole and all its eateries, as well as its safe sandy beach. Wake in the morning to the moo of the cows and the cry of the gulls. Catch a glimpse of the sea from the main bedroom window or see the mizzle roll in over the fields. Free fast wifi and the whole place to yourself!

Sheffield still retains a part Cornish community. On the Atlantic Coast bus route and within walking distance of Paul (0.5 miles), Mousehole (1 mile), Newlyn (1.5 miles) and Penzance (3 miles). St Ives is 12 miles away. There are some good eateries in these areas including a Michelin standard pub. Penzance Lido is on the sea front, and the fishing fleets go about their business in Newlyn. The death of Nelson was announced in one of the pubs in Penzance, Porthcurno has the theatre and telegraph museum, whilst the last working tin mine has a fabulous location over at Geevor. There's so much to discover....

Cuddle up in front of the open fire on a winter evening or sit outside on the garden chairs in the summer. Enjoy fibre optic wi-fi connection to browse 'What's on' close by. Chat to the locals as they walk past or cook a roast in the kitchen to enjoy at your leisure at the dining room table. Grab a the 'Atlantic Coaster' around the penisula stopping at Porthcurno and Sennen Cove - for a day's body boarding or go watch the seals at Godrevy. Wash your wet suit in the washing machine and hang out to dry. Enjoy the sunset at Pendeen lighthouse...or visit the famous Minack Theatre for a rehearsal during the day or a play at night....this seriously doesn't cover everything on offer.

Loved our stay

By Ana And Charlie on 19-Oct-2020

My partner and I loved our stay. The Cottage was immaculate and fully equipped. Although the weather was amazing and I know the area intimately we can only say “it was lovely”. As soon as COVID allows we are keen to repeat our times here for another staycation. If you are undecided where to go or where to stay this is 100% the right place and a superb location to enjoy breathtaking coastal beauty.

Didn't want to leave!

By Karen on 12-Oct-2020

We had a delightful stay in the cottage and didn't want to leave! The location was perfect for exploring the coast and my husband and I did some fantastic walks. The host provided a very helpful hints and tips info document. Communication was always very fast and the cottage was immaculately clean and tastefully furnished. All in all, we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it. We hope to return soon.

Beautiful cottage in an excellent location. Everything was spotless and cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. This was our second stay at the cottage, and it was every bit as good as last year.

Peaceful little cottage

By Jennifer on 08-Aug-2020

A lovely stay at this peaceful little cottage . We have had a fabulous holiday . The cottage is cosy , clean and comfortable . Lots of attention to detail have made Leonora’s place an enjoyable experience . I would thoroughly recommend a stay here . With a country outlook in this tiny hamlet of Sheffield the cottage is a great place to explore this area of Cornwall knowing that there is a welcoming little home from home to return to each day

Lovely authentic Cornish cottage

By Georgia on 25-Jul-2020

This is a lovely authentic Cornish cottage with everything you need for a short or long stay. It's perfectly located for a stroll down to Mousehole Harbour, and only a short drive (or train journey ) to Sennen or St Ives. Leonora was so thoughtful and helpful! My advice is to book for at least a week as there is so much to see and do in South Cornwall.

Welcoming, comfortable and practical

By Claire on 09-Sep-2019

We had a wonderful time at Sea Drifters' Cottage. A great deal of thought must have gone into making the cottage such a welcoming, comfortable, and practical place to stay. Leonora kindly left us scones, clotted cream, and Cornish tea - a delicious introduction to Cornwall! We immediately felt at home and were very sorry to leave when our stay came to an end. We highly recommend Sea Drifters' Cottage for its charm, character, comfort, and location, and we would love to stay there again. Thank you !

Spotlessly clean, good location in West Pentire (buses go from outside/near the cottage to Lands End, St Ives, and Penzance if you don’t drive; very easy parking right by the house if you have a car). Charming small end of terrace cottage with fully equipped kitchen. The walls are a little thin as in the advertisement, but this didn’t really cause us problems. Leonora was super quick to reply to our messages. Good pub in Paul 10 mins walk away, Mousehole another 15 mins. Great for a couple, would also suit those with one child.

Peaceful, snug getaway

Sea Drifters cottage is the perfect place to stay and explore the surrounding area.
The cottage is very well equipped and cosy. We loved the welcome pack which included a cream tea.
We had 6 days of glorious weather and we visited some beautiful beaches. Porthcurno, Marazion, St. Ives and the stunning Kynance Cove.
We visited St. Michaels Mount and the tide was out which was a bonus, the Minack theatre is also a lovely way to spend an evening with a great view out to sea.
We had a lovely meal at Becks fish restaurant in Carbis bay.
We would recommend the cottage as a great base and hope to visit again.
Thankyou Leonora.xx
