Maison adorable - impeccable - très confortable

By Stephane D. on 27-Dec-2016

The bungalow is well equipped, the owner having considered every need.It was really clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable and the bed lined of good quality. The garden was delightful with lovely plants as well as a nice outside seating area.We could not fault the accommodation at all.The area is a working town so not a tourist spot ,we drove to places of interest and there are good transport links, especially the bus.We didn't eat out in Newhaven,so can't pass on any recommendations.

Agree indeed with all previous reviews!

By Anonymous on 06-Aug-2016

Just perfect

By Alexander K. on 21-Jul-2016

We are a Swedish family of four who stayed in this lovely spacious house for two weeks. The place is clean and much effort has been put into the house to make sure the stay is as comfortable as possible. The garden is absolutely beautiful and the view magnificent. We will defiantly return and give our highest recommendations. Thank you Mike for your service and hard work to make our stay so comfortable.

wonderful place!

By Bobbie Jean H. on 15-Nov-2015

The place is an absolute wonder. It's charming, the kitchen is well-stocked, alls of the rooms are clean and bright, everything has been thought of and provided for our comfort and happiness. We will very happily stay here again when we are back in England, thanks to Mike and Karen, who also managed to arrange the weather for our 6 week stay. :) Thanks so much!

Trés reposant

By Anonymous on 27-Sep-2015

A house to feel at home for the first minute

By Anonymous on 10-Aug-2015

After 7 Long hours on the road from Cornwall we had a heartfull wellcome from Mike, who has waited for us patiently. The house ist beautufull from the in- and from the outside. Mike showed us around and we felt home instantly :-). There is everythin you need for cmfortable stay and even more. It was great to get everythin shown by Mike, so we did not have to search for our selfs. The rooms are beautiful furnished (oppinion of us-parents- and the "Kids" -15/18/19) with plent of room for everyone to feel comfortable. So ist the garden: wonderful grown - we even had fresh rasberrys in the morning - different places to relax and feel good. Everything was clean and specially the many towels in the bathroom were wonderful with us traveling with 3 big Kids! Mike also told us alot about the surrounding and showes us a lot of brochures to look at, so we were all prepared for our week. We have only been in "The Ark", a Little Restaurant at the Harbour - nice Food, good Drinks and nice to sit! Alfriston is a very beautifull old and little english town nearby. Your final words: We loved to stay in this house, felt at home and looking Forward to be back soon.

Top ausgestattet, sehr sauber

By Heike S. on 30-Jul-2015

Danke Heike Schmidt

lovely and spacious with a wonderful garden

By Anonymous on 22-Jul-2015

We are a family with three teenagers (12, 14, 17) and stayed for ten days. The property is really great. Three spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds. The main bedroom offers a fantastic view into the garden. The huge kitchen is completly equipped. Washing-machine, dryer and dishwasher are in really good condition. Wifi made travelling with three Teenagers much easier. Just the sofa in the livingroom could be a bit harder. Mike gave us many extra information about travelling by bus and train in advance what made the planing of our trips much more easy. And we saved a lot of money. Special thanks for that. There is an excellent bus-service, so we could leave the car in the parking space. We visited Brighton, Eastbourne, Seaford and Lewes by Bus. The double decker busses offer great views to the landscape (the green Brighton&Hove busses offer free wifi 8-) ). We reached London by train in about 90 minutes. (The fare for an adult including all transportation in London (busses, tube etc) was about 22 GBP.) Newhaven itself is - as someone has written below - a ferry port and there are some areas that are not really attractive (But you will find unattractive areas in nearly any cities won't you?) Mikes property is situated in the upper part of Newhaven that is really in good conditon. Supermarkets are not to far away. thanks Mike for the wonderfull time. I guess we'll come back.

Beautiful home, all the amenities, allergy free!

By Cara L. on 22-Sep-2014

Mike and Karen's property is just what I needed: a beautiful clean space, all the amenities one would need or want (from kitchen appliances to a complete 4 piece bath and extra toilet to washing machine and dryer), a large and comfortable garden, parking space, close to Brighton, Lewes, Seaford, the Seven Sisters and the Downs. I travel for a living and unfortunately have severe allergies (pets, dust, mould, mildew), which means I'm very particular about where I stay. This house was the perfect match for me! I stayed for 12 nights and wish I could've stayed longer :)

Perfect home with wonderful garden

By Din O. on 21-Sep-2014

This house is perfect. Every room is in a very good condiion. Kitchen is huge and perfectly equipped. Bathroom as well. Sleeping rooms are fine as well. There is a lot of space in the living room as well (the sofa could be a bit harder). The garden is wonderful and has a lot of space; there is w barbecue as well. We spent almost every day outside - even our evening meals. We recommend this house 100%; perfect for 4 persons. Thanks a lot to Mike. I guess we will come back sometime (for the 3rd time).

ein wunderschönes Haus - ein wunderbarer Platz für

By Anonymous on 01-May-2014

By Florence H. on 03-Nov-2013

Fantastic with every home comfort you could need

By Anonymous on 01-Oct-2013

The owner has really thought about the facilities in this property. It had every comfort you could require. As a foodie and someone who enjoys using local ingredients, the kitchen had every utensil you could think of. The raspberries and tomatoes in the garden were an extra treat. The bed was very comfortable (we only used the main bedroom as there was just the two of us). And the linens very good quality. The facilities in the garden were great and positioned to catch the sun all through the day. The owner met us on the first day and gave us a very comprehensive review of both the property and the surrounding area. If I have a criticism it's that the area really needs smartening up. It is a ferry port and therefore not particularly attractive and the general area is one of degeneration. This of course is no fault of the owner and should not detract from visitors booking the property. There are some lovely places around to visit, Lewes, Brighton, Eastbourne, Seven SIsters Park and Seaford just to name a few. The bus service to all these places is great if you don't want to use a car. On a scale of 1 to 10 we would give this a worthy 9. Thank you Mike.

great house, good starting point for day trips

By Anonymous on 21-Aug-2013

House and garden are beautiful and well kept. The kitchen is the best eqipped we have ever had in a holiday home. It is a pleasure to have breakfast in the garden (morning sun at the table). The owner is very friendly and helpful and gave us a very warm welcome. The town of Newhaven in contrast is not very well kept, but it is worth taking short trips to other towns or - which we enjoyed most - going hiking near the cliffs (Beachy Head, Seven sisters). A lot of information material is provided, among other a guide on hiking tours with very exact descriptions. For our family of five (children of 16, 13, 8) it was a wonderful holiday in this lovely house and garden.

Nice House with beautiful garden

By Anonymous on 05-Aug-2013

We had a exciting week in this house. The house is very nice, especially the garden. Everything you need was in the house. It´s easy to go on a trip by bus or train. Lot´s of flyers for sightseeing were in the house. We were in Brighton (by bus) and Lewes (by train). From seaford we took a walk to the cliffs. The beach in Newhaven is very quiet. That is also wonderful. The whole family became a sunburn. The supermarkets are not far away. The owner provides us a greeting paket. That was very kind of him. So we felt very well.

A perfect holiday home in Newhaven

By Andre J. on 02-Jan-2013

A beautiful house and the reception of the owner was better than expected, really warm and helpful. We are considering to go here again in 2013 since we simply loved the place. Brighton and Eastbourne are just around the corner and the taking a train from Lewes (10 km away from the holiday home) to London to see a musical was also perfect.

The bedrooms are spacious, the livingroom a warm and nice family area and the kitchen has all the equipment and space you need. We had a lovely Christmas meal in the dining room and the bathroom has a shower which is so nice you simply can't stop.

Even though the weather was windy and rainy we didn't mind because being inside made us forget about the weather. If I would have to score 1-10, it would get a 9.5.

Newhaven is hardly the bustling hub of East Sussex, but all the necessary facilities such as post office, supermarkets, bus and train stations are within walking distance. If you don't like to stay in a noisy environment, this place just is fine. Newhaven is the perfect starting point of everything where the fun is, like Brighton, Eastbourne, Lewis and much more highlights.
The bungalow is equipped with all the possible facilities like you're used to at home and why should you settle for less? That the bungalow is including WiFi and countless channels on the TV is a big plus. You can see that the owner has taken great care to make it the guests as comfortable as possible.
I would recommend this location to all my friends and acquaintances.

- Search on the internet for all the car boot sales and fleamarkets in the area, they are definitely worth to visit.
- Coming from over the Channel, you should download an app that converts kilometers into miles. Most of them are free and it's easy to stick your iPhone just above your rear view mirror. The GPS module in your phone gives you your current speed in real-time... in miles.

Thanks Mike,

Lovely, spacious bungalow with gorgeous garden

By A. M. on 25-Jun-2012

A very spacious bungalow with lovely big bedrooms and plenty of living space. The kitchen is big and well equipped and it is very easy to operate and maintain the house. The garden has lots of different seating areas where you can get some quiet time if you want to. Easy to get to the South Downs and to visit all the lovely coastal towns... lovely walks everywhere. The owners are kind and very helpful - we were there at Christmas and they had put up a lovely tree for us. Highly recommended.

We had a perfect familly stay in this lovely bungalow, well equiped, with spacious living space and georgeous garden located at the door step of Brighton and South down coast overlooking the Seven sisters. The owner is trustworthy and made us feel at ease and nothing was spared with quality of equipement and furniture. I would highly recomend this property and will defenitely come back.

Komfortables Ferienhaus

By Jürgen A. on 14-Aug-2011

Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Girls Getaway, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway.
