Description

This lovely Victorian building was originally the vicarage belonging to the nearby St Edmunds church in Hunstanton and was converted into ample apartments several years ago.

Only a few minutes’ walk to the beach and town centre this lovely second floor apartment has a distinctive but friendly ambiance as soon as you enter. It is ideally situated so you can leave the car and explore the town. Cliff tops and local holiday amenities are only a stroll away

The light and airy apartment has been a family holiday home for many years and offers accommodation for a small family or couples/singles who appreciate antique and historic items of interest. The owners have retained original features and tastefully furnished the rooms in a minimal and characteristic style with Edwardian and Victorian period pieces. Parking space for two cars, gas central heating and mostly fully carpeted but no garden. But who needs a garden when there is plenty of other areas in Hunstanton close by to relax? Guests can also sit and view the sea from the lounge windows or the turret and small roof top parapet (at own risk).

Offering a different style to our usual holiday homes, we are sure that the accommodation will appeal to many guests seeking something unusual, or maybe quirky and individual.

Available all year the property offers the perfect escape from busy life. There is a communal entrance with staircase to the private entrance. Wide hallway. Spacious lounge with bay window which enjoys birds eye views overlooking the town to the sea and narrow iron stair ladder into the turret with higher sea views. There is a door onto the small parapet protected by iron railings but guests must be aware of their own safety. Perfect for sitting out taking in the surroundings and no more. Guests may use this at their own risk with no responsibility to the owners or agents.

Modern kitchen breakfast room. Separate WC. Bathroom with separate shower and bath, WC and washbasin. Two bedrooms; one with twins and the other with a double.

Parking; outside the property on private gravel drive.

Hunstanton has something for everyone in the family. Sandy beach, sea, rock pools, guided tours on the wash monster, sailing, kite surfing and water skiing. On the sea front there are many stalls selling ice creams, food and sweets. There are amusement arcades, Fun fair, bowling alley, adventure golf, Sea Life Sanctuary and a sports and leisure centre. Take a walk along the promenade, which will take you to either Old Hunstanton, via the beach stripped red and white cliffs. Or the other direction staying on the promenade to Heacham. Walk around the sensory park, esplanade gardens that provide a colourful display of flowers in the summer months. The Norfolk Coast Path takes you 34 miles to Cromer from the North promenade. Heritage, Horticultural or Wolf trails are available from the tourist information centre. Relax on the green, and enjoy the summer entertainment on the bandstand on a Sunday afternoon. Or in the evenings watch the sunset . Book a seat at the theatre for a show, or take a round of golf, or take a leisurely ride on the Coastliner bus to visit the coastline. Visit the Heritage Centre or The Coal shed gallery to learn about Hunstanton's interesting history. Various festivals throughout the year include the Lifestyle Festival, Carnival, Kite Festival and the charity Xmas day swim.

Old Hunstanton has a sandy beach with dunes, and rock pools. There are various eating places including the beach cafe. Visit the Life boat station on a Sunday, hire a beach hut for the day, play a game of pitch and putt, browse local crafts and antiques in the Old Barns, or have a drink or meal in one of the many popular pub restaurants in the village. St Mary's Church holds various events throughout the year, including a lovely annual Flower Festival. There is a post office with a Deli that sells many of your everyday items.

Only a short drive along this Royal Coast is Sandringham Estate with house, gardens and museum. Plan a whole day here or take the dog and family for long woody walks and picnics. Bird reserves at Snettisham, Titchwell both RSPB and Pensthorpe Natural Park are also worth visiting and for walkers there are miles of accessible and dog friendly coast and country walks to be found - follow this website for Norfolk Trails and cycle rides.

The Vicarage perfectly met our needs. Charming with lots of space and character. Good location which was convenient to town center as well as the beach front and clifftop walk.
