Accommodation for a mixture of six to twelve adults and children, or more
The house is a fine 18th century ‘manoir’ including farm buildings around a courtyard, set in five acres of grounds close to the River Orne, with a lake, garden and orchard.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor, each with its own bath-room.

The main bedroom has one Super king water bed, and a fold-out sofa bed which could sleep one or two children.

The second bedroom (the “Tapestry Room”) has one double bed.

The smallest bedroom (the “Rose Room”) has one double bed.

In the attic there is one bedroom which has two double beds, and the rest of the attic could take several camp-beds (not provided). (OK in summer but might be chilly in winter). Access to the attic is via a wooden staircase with an incomplete hand-rail, and there is no bathroom up there. Best for fearless kids or adults who don’t mind nocturnal adventures down the stairs.

There is one portable folding bed suitable for a child or smallish adult, which can be placed in any of the bedrooms.

Around the outside of the property there is plenty of space for tents and / or camper vans.

Arrival earliest 4pm Saturday, departure latest 11am Saturday unless otherwise agreed by prior arrangement.

A Special place in our hearts

By Inge on 21-Aug-2018

A lovely manor house and grounds in a beautiful country setting. The place is full of history, with the comfort of today. Le Logis du Marais has a real special character...and now also a special place in our hearts.

The manoir is dreamy.

Translated from Spanish

A family home equipped to the smallest detail and with space for two families. The restoration and decoration are perfect. The photographs are totally true. A family home made with love and with spectacular green areas. The main access road to the house next to the lake is something from a film. Regarding the rooms, highlight the bathrooms (3 and a half), the kitchen and the decoration of every room. We have been very comfortable and would like to return. Christine is very accessible despite not being there although, as everything was indicated in writing, it was not necessary to contact her. In short, very highly recommended

Tranquility in a luxurious setting

By Julie on 17-Jul-2018

The 'manoir ' house is exquisite with a fascinating history. The interior design is quirky and tasteful . It reflects the grandness of the building. As a family of 5 we are used to compromising on holiday but not this time . The house is vast with spacious en suite bathrooms to each bedroom and a clever washroom tucked under the stairs. The showers are all very high spec, especially in the master suite , as it also has side jets. Much to the delight of our children! The kitchen has everything you will need and more ! What a delight to cook on a Godin range cooker. All the appliances are high spec. Despite the grandeur the house feels very much like a home and is easy to relax in. There are no strict rules and the owners foster a level of trust by the house being left for you as they would use it themselves....keys for every room, access to everything in the kitchen, usb plugs, soundbar for the tv.... the list goes on. The gardens are stunning with a moat to the rear and your very own lake with the sweetest raft of ducks. The house itself is an excellent base for many of Normandy's tourist attractions such as William the Conquerer's castle and the D Day landing beaches. The nearest town Argentan , is 9 minutes away and is very well appointed for shops and supermarkets. This house was outstanding value for money and we would definitely stay there again.
