The Old Stables overlooks the monkey puzzle garden to the east and the sun streams into the south facing living room and across the balcony with sea views between the trees. This spacious, first floor cottage with bathroom and shower room, and two loos, spans the the length of the old stables building. The cottage has 3 bedrooms (King, double & twin). A generous balcony extends from the kitchen through French doors to catch the sun from late morning onwards – ideal for dining.

Superbly located on the South coast between the historic fishing villages of Fowey and Charlestown, 25 minutes by car to the North Coast and within walking to the Eden Project, Tregrehan is a fabulous all season destination. Tregrehan House remains home to the Carlyon family since 1565. Tregrehan Garden, next to Kew and Hillier Gardens, protects the greatest diversity of recorded trees in the country. Across a cobbled courtyard, ancient trees tower above the walled garden.

Five fully equipped cottages surround the courtyard, each with it's own private garden. The property is surrounded by fields and ancient parkland, yet urban amenities are nearby (a mile west and east). Entry to Tregrehan Garden is free to guests during opening hours. All season tennis court. Nearby Fowey, historic fishing village and dining mecca. The popular film venue of historic Charlestown with its' tall ships & good restaurants lies to the west. Endless coastal walks. 15 minutes walk to the Eden Project. Arrive to a warm house with lit fires, made beds and milk in the fridge.

A warm welcome

By Steve wrote & Lalaine Jones, via AirBnB 2 Oct 20 on 11-Oct-2020

“A warm welcome from Jo and Tom and a great retreat to stay at and use as a base to discover Cornwall. The Old Stables is a cosy, well maintained period cottage, within the glorious grounds of Tregrehan Gardens which were a beautiful surprise. Tucked out of the way up the long driveway it is situated in a chilled out setting, but is in easy reach of many of the local beaches, coves, villages and towns as well as attractions such as the Eden Project. We spent 10 days here and this went too quick so hope to be back some time soon. Thanks.”

Hosting is friendly and helpful

‘Old Stables provides well-equipped accommodation in a spacious and convenient layout for 5-6 guests. Parking outside is straight forward and a private drive through the grounds gives easy access to main roads and local attractions. The extensive gardens are well-tended and full of delight with majestic trees - the excellent, informative leaflet is the ideal guide. Hosting is friendly and helpful ensuring everything is in place for an enjoyable stay’.
