Following Government guidelines we are opening the cottages from July 4th. We are following the South West Tourist Aliiance (SWTA) & partner alliances cleaning protocol for COVID to reassure our guests. Please contact us if you have any queries.

Superbly located on the South coast between the historic fishing villages of Fowey and Charlestown, and 35 minutes by car to the North Coast, Tregrehan is a fabulous all season destination. Tregrehan House remains home to the Carlyon family since 1565. Tregrehan Garden, next to Kew and Hillier Gardens, protects the greatest diversity of recorded trees in the country. Across a cobbled courtyard, ancient trees tower above the walled garden.

Five fully equipped cottages surround the courtyard, each with it's own private garden. The property is surrounded by fields and ancient parkland, yet urban amenities are nearby (a mile west and east). Entry to Tregrehan Garden is free to guests during opening hours. All season tennis court. Nearby Fowey, historic fishing village and dining mecca. The popular film venue of historic Charlestown with its' tall ships & good restaurants lies to the west. Endless coastal walks. 15 minutes walk to the Eden Project. Pets are welcome in Coach House and Gamekeeper's cottages. Arrive to a warm house with lit fires, made beds and milk in the fridge.

The Coach House is a spacious cottage and garden with 3 bedrooms and two bath/shower rooms, ideal for three generations or 2 small families. Unusual Georgian architecture characterizes this cottage. Arched structures of the old home farm and grain mill enclose a large secret walled garden. The cottage itself has been renovated exposing the beams in the large kitchen and adding a shower room with loo at ground floor level. Adjacent is a small twin bedroom. A short flight of stairs leads to a generous sitting room with wood burner, bathroom with overhead shower and loo, a very large master bedroom with king-size and extra bed, and end bunk room with extra bed.

Additional information: Logs, electricity, heating, bed-linen and tea towels included in the price. Garden entrance included during the open season. Cot and high chair(s) available. Private parking. Dogs welcome upon request at an additional charge of £25 per pet. Garden furniture and BBQ. Guests are welcome to use the tennis courts during working hours (booking is necessary). Towels available at an additional charge of £6 per person. Dish washer & washing machine

Annual Price Adjustments:
* COUPLE ONLY OCCUPANCY enjoy a 10% reduction excluding school holidays in the Coach House (3 bedrooms, pets welcome), the Old Stables (3 bedrooms, no pets) and the Gamekeeper's Cottage (2 bedrooms, pets welcome)
* SHORT BREAKS ARE NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Wohnen im Pferdestall!

By Beate T. on 06-Aug-2019

Danke Jo!!!

Ideal location for peace and quiet

By Michael S. on 21-Sep-2018

This was our second stay at Tregrehan, and we loved it as much as the first time. The Mews cottage is lovely and the grounds of the Tregrehan estate are tranquil and beautiful.

The Mews was absolutely perfect for us.

By John C. on 13-Jul-2018

Our stay was superb. Everyone at Tregrehan was so welcoming and helpful it bowled us over. The environment is just so relaxed and easy and the surroundings very impressive. The actual cottage suited us down to the ground - have to say the weather helped - but the lovely secluded garden was great.
When we had a "minor" technical transport problem the sympathetic help was fantastic. Yes, a truly memorable couple of weeks!

Delightful mews cottage nr St Austell

By Harriet G. on 16-Sep-2016

Very enjoyable four nights in charming well equipped mews cottage set in the grounds of Tregrehan House. The property is one of four rented out by the family who live in the house and as guests we were able to visit the extensive woodland as well as the park. The cottage is well placed for visits and not far from the South West Coast path and great walking plus, if the weather is kind, there are plenty of beaches close by too.

Mews - Tregrehan Gardens

By Diane P. on 27-Jul-2016

The Mews is a lovely well planned, beautifully decorated accommodation, that is perfect for a relaxing break. We had everything provided that we needed and it was extremely comfortable. With its own garden you could sit and enjoy the Cornwall sun anytime you wished and it was so private. David the Caretaker and Richard the Gardener were extremely helpful but unobtrusive, just right. An added bonus is the beautiful Tregrehan Gardens, with all its hidden treasures, well worth a visit whether you were staying there or not. So many incredibly old species and plants not often seen thriving in this country.
The location was great for so many of the Cornwall gardens and it was our first time to Heligan, such a treat. There are also many lovely gardens very close by, Marsh Villas is certainly well worth a visit.
The coastal path from Par across to Polkerris, and Polkerris to Gribbin Head are well worth the adventures and of course the views are stunning. With all the little coastal towns, you are spoilt for choice and don't forget inland has its riches too.
We ate at the Rashleigh Inn and apart from the tasty food the location and décor was very fitting. Also The Britannia and The Four Lords offer great substantial meals, just along the road.
All in all a brilliant holiday.
We will return.
Di and Adrian

A peaceful holiday in a perfect setting

By Tom H. on 13-Jun-2015

Have stayed here many times over several years which speaks for itself. The property is as described and is clean and well maintained. There is everything that you need and the owner and staff are always helpful and friendly. It is ideal for two people and the wood burner makes it cosy and comfortable whatever time of year. Within walking distance of the Eden Project and well located for beaches and countryside and other houses and gardens, although will you want to leave the garden at Tregrehan?
