The property
A charming, terraced, Lake District cottage on the edge of Penruddock and within the Lake District National Park area which we have owned and rented out for over 20 years. We have recently moved to Simply Owners. Penruddock is a pretty village four miles from beautiful Ullswater.
This traditional cottage provides good-quality accommodation, with a cosy sitting room with woodburning stove, a well equipped dining kitchen, attractive bedroom and bathroom. An ideal romantic retreat, this cottage offers wonderful views of the Northern Fells including Mell Fell, Blencathra and Carrock. The lovely cottage garden is just made for relaxing, or why not head out onto the many footpaths throughout the area.
Penrith is 6 miles away and Keswick just 11 miles, both with many amenities. A lovely Penruddock cottage, in a village which is ideally-placed for exploring the Lakes and surrounding areas. Fell walking, pony trekking, cycling on the famous coast to coast route and golf at the nearby Keswick Golf Club are all on offer nearby.
For those visitors with electric cars, please note we do not have any facilities to enable electric car charging at the property but there is rapid charging available at Rheged Service station 5 miles from the cottage.

Cosy little cottage with excellent views to the hills.

By Kerry Gowland on 31-Dec-2022

We contacted the owner Alison at very short notice, as we needed somewhere to stay over New Year. We were staying with friends in the village and realised it was going to be a bit of a squeeze, so needed somewhere close by to use as a base. Alison was very accommodating, and made the last minute process very easy. The cottage was very clean, warm and cosy. The kitchen was immaculate, as was the bathroom and in fact the whole cottage. The welcome gifts were a lovely thought, and we all enjoyed the chocolate reindeer. The beds were very comfortable, the water was hot, and the space was used effectively. The stairs are quite steep, so just be mindful of that if you have very young/ elderly guests. There is a lovely garden although we didn't use it on this visit. The village is only about 12 miles from Keswick, and there is a direct bus route.

What a wonderful week away

By Pippa Phelan on 21-Oct-2022

We stayed at little Mell Fell for a week on the 21nd October, what a treat, we walked in and it was nicer then the photos showed, new furniture downstairs, log burner in the lounge was an added bonus (with wood supplied) Comfortable bed with high quality bedding. We had a little issue with the quilt being duck feather (I have an allergy) however Alison was quick to rectify this, we were so grateful. Bath and shower were great. The kitchen is perfect, all the utensils etc that you could possibly need. The location is perfect not far from anything, wonderful scenery from the bedroom windows. parking enough for one car. Thank you Alison and Malcolm for a wonderful stay, felt so much better knowing our money was going to you and not to an agent. Have recommended SimplyOwners to all of out friends!! xx
