We contacted the owner Alison at very short notice, as we needed somewhere to stay over New Year. We were staying with friends in the village and realised it was going to be a bit of a squeeze, so needed somewhere close by to use as a base. Alison was very accommodating, and made the last minute process very easy. The cottage was very clean, warm and cosy. The kitchen was immaculate, as was the bathroom and in fact the whole cottage. The welcome gifts were a lovely thought, and we all enjoyed the chocolate reindeer. The beds were very comfortable, the water was hot, and the space was used effectively. The stairs are quite steep, so just be mindful of that if you have very young/ elderly guests. There is a lovely garden although we didn't use it on this visit. The village is only about 12 miles from Keswick, and there is a direct bus route.
We stayed at little Mell Fell for a week on the 21nd October, what a treat, we walked in and it was nicer then the photos showed, new furniture downstairs, log burner in the lounge was an added bonus (with wood supplied) Comfortable bed with high quality bedding. We had a little issue with the quilt being duck feather (I have an allergy) however Alison was quick to rectify this, we were so grateful. Bath and shower were great. The kitchen is perfect, all the utensils etc that you could possibly need. The location is perfect not far from anything, wonderful scenery from the bedroom windows. parking enough for one car. Thank you Alison and Malcolm for a wonderful stay, felt so much better knowing our money was going to you and not to an agent. Have recommended SimplyOwners to all of out friends!! xx
Great base for exploring the Lake District, the cottage is well equipped, clean and welcoming.
