There are no words to describe how wonderful our stay was!
The home owner is very easy to communicate with. The property was beautiful and had all the amenities that one would need. Only thing we would change is that we should have stayed two weeks instead of one!!
It was a Fun Stay
We had a great time here. Since you give up privacy staying in this cottage whilst filming is going on, it is also a fun place to stay when they are filming at the cottage itself. We met Martin and Caroline and got to see Martin work with Buddy. Shirley was responsive to our needs. The only suggestion I have is to have a small trash bin in each bedroom which would make it easier for makeup etc.
Just a perfect cottage
Great pre-arrival communication, easy-to-follow directions. Beautifully appointed cottage, spotlessly clean, stunning views. This would be a delight without the connection to Doc Martin, the connection makes it a perfect break. Strongly recommend!

Very comfortable. Everything worked well. Comfortable bed in master. Just lots of people outside, but that’s life on Port Wenn

The perfect property and location for our short (too short) stay.
We love Port Isaac and the surrounding area and having had a weekend break last year, we couldn't wait to go back. This year we chose Fern Cottage, having admired it last year and being big fans of the TV series Doc Martin. The property exceeded our expectations and met our requirements perfectly, as a base for exploring Port Isaac and the north and south coasts of Cornwall. It was clean, spacious and very comfortable with all the facilities required and of course offers amazing views of the harbour, town and surrounding countryside. Shirley is very helpful and very responsive to any questions and emailed us prior to our stay with all the information needed and useful suggestions and advice to help our stay run smoothly. I can't recommend the property and Port Isaac more highly and we look forward to returning again one day.....
Wonderful Cornish experience
We stayed at Fern Cottage for 4 nights. It was outstanding. The outside is the iconic Doc Martin surgery, while inside is a beautifully updated 2 bedroom home with 1 1/2 bathrooms, a living room, dining room and kitchen. Cottage is clean, and well equipped. We loved watching the Doc Martin dvd's that were thoughtfully provided. Shirley was very easy to work with and provided all necessary info.
Much nicer than it looks!
Fantastic couple of nights in this beautiful cosy cottage - the photos don't do it justice, they make it look a bit shabby and dreary which couldn't be further from the truth. It is light and airy, nicely decorated with a good lay out and good sized rooms and a comfortable sitting room. Kitchen is well equipped and everything in good working order and top spec. Lots of lovely walks from the door and road cycling was amazing - lots of quiet roads with no cars on them for miles. The cottage is 5 mins walk from 2 pubs with fab food. The Michellin star restaurant over the road was quite stuffy and very over priced cocktails though so I wouldn't recommend this! Bring your own supplies as no corner shop. Lovely place for a weekend stay and would definitely go back.
A wonderful stay
We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended our stay from 9 nights to 11 nights. The cottage is very well equipped with every thing you would need, we even cooked our Christmas dinner there. The cottage is lovely and clean, as we had never rented before we were a little concerned! but every thing was perfect for us, and Shirley the owner was very helpful and obliging. Thankyou. Oh and Port issaac is a wonderful place to visit ,and many surrounding places to visit, we struggled to fit every thing in.
Cutest Cottage in Cornwall
Fern Cottage has to be the cutest cottage in Cornwall. Beautifully furnished in seaside shabby chic style, it offers sublime views from every window across the fishing boats bobbing about in the tiny Port Isaac harbour and out to sea. Every mod con and gadget is provided, along with lovely comfy beds, fluffy towels, a Victorian bath and a fab power shower. We could have happily stayed forever... Only slight down side for us (& some people might enjoy this..) is the 100+ Doc Martin fans a day who come to take selfies on the front steps! Would love to come back when Doc Martin has retired
So cosy!
The minute we walked through the door, we felt right at home. This house is adorable, the views are absolutely stunning, the decor is superb and of a very high quality and everywhere is spotless. The bottle of wine that was waiting for us was very much appreciated! Port Isaac itself is idyllic. The walk along the coastal path is a must with views across headlands and the Atlantic Ocean that are simply mind blowing. We will definately return to Fern cottage one day
