What a fantastic place to stay.

By Richard Maryniak on 23-Jun-2018

We had a fabulous holiday. The weather apart from one afternoon when it rained was perfect, hot but not too hot. The villa exceeded our expectations in every way, spacious, tastefully and comfortably furnished with a view that was spectacular. Some lovely evenings were spent sitting on the balcony, glass in hand looking out over the unspoilt wooded landscape to the sea beyond with no hotels or other villas to spoil the view. We loved our super large bedroom from which we also had that lovely outlook. The majority of our time was spent lazing on the beach and swimming in the crystal clear waters, although we did manage several trips out, one to Bonifacio Port and another which was a drive through the mountains using a route suggested by hosts. Both of which we would highly recommended. We tended to stick to the beach accessed via the three restaurants mentioned in Casa Mia's literature. Although you didn't have to use their sunbeds but we did find them comfortable and hassle free with drink and food service at your beckoning. We used Palm Beach but I'm sure the others were just as good, although we were told that the Tamaricciu was somewhat more expensive. It is worth noting that these beach restaurants stop serving meals at 4pm until later in the year, end of June I think, when they then serve into the evening. The only improvement that could be made would be a swimming pool, then it really would be heaven. Something the owners Mike and Rita are hoping to do in the near future.

Absolute perfection

By Sharon Durrant on 23-Jun-2018

Casa Mia was a truly perfect holiday experience. From the moment we arrived my husband and I felt totally relaxed. The accommodation is actually better than can be shown by the photographs and the view is to die for. Whilst the accommodation is very private it is within easy reach of many amenities including lovely beaches and restaurants with the town of Porto Vecchio within easy driving distance for an evening by the Port. I could not choose what I liked best about our holiday to Corsica or Casa Mia as it was all perfect. The only drawback was I had only booked one week...but I certainly intend to return and when I do it will be for longer.

A truly wonderful peaceful villa

By Steve And Amanda Frost on 21-Jun-2018

If you are looking to rent a one-bedroom villa, look no further,it is such a find! The views are breathtaking from the balcony, we had every meal outside enjoying the peace and tranquillity and beautiful views over to Palombaggia beach. Bread and croissants can be picked up from the local shop five minutes away and the large barbecue added to the wonderful cooking facilities available at the villa. The villa has air-conditioning and is so well-equipped. It is enormous for a one bedroomed villa and has beautiful gardens to enjoy. The owners are tremendously helpful and emailed us during our stay to check that everything was fine and that we were enjoying our holiday. Before we arrived they sent us very good directions from the airport to the villa and lots of tips on how to get the most out of Corsica, which restaurants to try and how to find the best beaches . So if you are lucky enough to find a week free then I recommend you grab it!

Ein traumhaft schönes Haus mit gigantischer Lage

By Jutta Syben on 19-Jun-2018

A piece of paradise on earth

By Salluzzi on 24-Jul-2017

It will be hard to explain the beauty of this house and place in words. Casa Mia II has exceeded our expectations. The interior of the house is designed with exquisite taste. The kitchen has everything what you need and I really mean everything. Outside you have a great barbeque .The location is excellent , on top of the hill, very peaceful and with a breathtaking view over Palombaggia beach. We stayed for three weeks in this magical place. We spent so many beautiful and happy moments sitting on the terrace , watching the sunset, relaxing and just enjoying the moment. Rita and Mike, what exquisite people. They made our vacation perfect, giving so much useful information before and during the vacation. Always being there when we had a question. We couldn't ask for more. It was our best vacation ever. We already planned to return in 2019- We are already counting the days .

My Response
It was a great pleasure for us to receive you as guests and we are very happy that you found Casa Mia to be what it is - a unique and privileged little paradise overlooking Corsica's most prestigious beach. We look forward to having you back whenever it suits you. Thank you. Mike and Rita

Thank you - your enjoyment is our pleasure

Beautiful villa

By Sarah Gaunt on 06-Sep-2016

CASA MIA II MORE THAN MET OUR EXPECTATIONS. IT WAS SPOTLESS ON ARRIVAL, BEAUTIFULLY FURNISHED, WELL EQUIPPED AND WITH A STUNNING VIEW. MIKE AND RITA PROVIDED DETAILED INFORMATION BEFORE WE TRAVELLED WHICH WAS VERY HELPFUL. I WOULD RECOMMEND CASA MIA II WITHOUT HESITATION.

My Response
Thank you, we deeply appreciate your comments concerning your stay at Casa Mia and will continue to strive to meet even higher standards of satisfaction. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you 'home' again in the future

Beautiful holiday home

By Sarah, Tim And Cicely Carr on 06-Sep-2016

Casa Mia II more than lived up to our expectations. It is extremely well furnished with a well equipped kitchen. The view is stunning and the villa is private and peaceful. Mike and Rita provided us with lots of very useful information before we travelled and the villa was spotless on arrival. My husband, teenage daughter and I had a really comfortable stay and would certainly recommend it.

Beautiful, stylish property with splendid view.

By Emma Lewis on 19-Aug-2016

Casa Mia II is just lovely - it is the 2nd time we have stayed here (and we are quite fussy) which speaks for itself. Mike & Rita are consistently extremely responsive and helpful, and the property was very professionally and thoughtfully prepared - with useful notes on everything, including what to do in the area. The housekeeper Karima was extremely friendly and on hand to help in case of need. The property is very stylish, spacious, homey, modern, comfortable, clean, well equipped and cleverly laid out. There is a lot of space for 2 people - but it feels luxuriously 'just right' rather than uncomfortably big. The view is second to none and it is tempting to stay home and eat on the balcony(ies in fact) as it is so incredibly peaceful and beautiful. The position also is perfect - literally just up the hill from some of the very best beaches on the island (Palombaggia, Tamaricciu etc). We didn't use the extra little bedroom at all but it was quirky and would be fun for an older child (I don't think would be suitable for a younger child as has its own door access - but the property is so spacious a younger child could anyway easily be accommodated elsewhere) who wants his / her own special / private space! The garden area is lovely and you really could hang out at the property all the time (in shade or sunshine, as you choose) without feeling cooped up - our only problem was balancing all the fantastic things to do and places to see with relaxing time 'at home'. I would highly recommend Casa Mia II to anyone looking for a luxury place to stay in the Palombaggia area. That there was no pool didn't bother us at all - the sea is SO close and there is always a bit of a breeze. It was great to have the option of cooking at home as well as eating out in the plethora of excellent restaurants nearby. Porto Vecchio which is a lovely town is only a short drive away and there are loads of day road trips you can do to see a bit more of South Corsica. Idyllic holiday all round - highly recommend this specific area and Casa Mia, it absolutely couldn't have been nicer.

My Response
Reviews from appreciative guests such as this delightful family spur us to strive for even more attention to detail in ensuring a successful holiday to our guests. Thank you.

Villa très confortable avec vue imprenable

By Marie-Laure Dessommes on 19-Aug-2016

Excellente prestation avec grande chambre parentale. La vue est sublime. Attention pour la deuxième chambre, elle ne communique pas avec la maison donc pas pratique.

My Response
Thank you for submitting your very positive review. Prior to accepting a firm reservation we emphasis to our guests the proximity and access of the 'spare' bedroom relative to the master suite. The fact is that Casa Mia II is perfect for a couple but with the possibility of accommodating a child or younger person in the 'spare' bedroom. Casa Mia I, which sleeps four guests in two en suite bedrooms with queen size beds might be a better fit but is not always available to coincide with our guests preferred dates.

Casa Mia 2

By Hans & Dory Barneveld on 14-Sep-2015

We stayed in Casa Mia 2 for 2 weeks. It is a beautiful modern house with a fantastic view over the sea. Every equipment you need is available. It is close to the beach and the beautiful village Bonafacio. We played golf at ´Golf de Perone´, located close to Bonafacio. It is a beautiful 18 holes golf course with fantastic views over the sea.

Amazing, Relaxing, Couldn't have been better

By Bill And April Reals on 11-Jun-2015

The Location- perfectly nestled away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to get into town easily. Contact with the Dowlings was great and they were always quick to respond. While the Dowlings were not on site, we did did get to meet a lovely lady next door, Rita's mother. The accommodations- Wonderful, the master suite downstairs was luxurious and very comfortable, especially the bed. The kitchen was perfectly equipped for whatever your needs might be and the living room and dining area were spacious and roomy. There is also a bathroom on the upstairs level near the kitchen. THE VIEW..............WOW! We sat on the balcony every night and just watched the ocean until it got too dark and then did some stargazing. Peaceful and quiet,. We did several day trips to Ajaccio, Bonnifacio, Corte, Sartene, Filitosa, Wine tasting at a few of the local wineries and my personal favorite, a drive up into the mountains to Col de Bavellas and Zonza. This home was just what the doctor ordered, amazing and comfortable with just the right amount of luxury without feeling stuffy. Well done Dowlings!!! Someday we'll be back. Definitely my favorite part of our trip. My least favorite part......the mosquitoes, but with a few citronella candles and a citronella diffuser we did alright..

Our first visit to Corsica, the "Ile de Beaute" via Casa-Mia ii

By Elaine And Robert Henry on 24-Jun-2013

After visiting France for many years, we finally scheduled Corsica into our itinerary but had little intelligence on the best location for acquainting ourselves with the delights the island has to offer so we started with a search of accommodation and made a very promising find with Casa-Mia II at Palombaggia, Porto-Vecchio, Corse. It didn’t disappoint – in fact we were delighted to have our expectations met whether we are talking about the location, the quality and facilities available within the villa or the communication with the charming owners, Rita and Mike. Casa Mia II occupies a prime position high above the aqua waters in a lovely Corsican garden setting offering peace and tranquillity (once you have mastered the rocky track to arrive at your destination you feel the stress wash away). The construction and fit-out are first-class with every conceivable requirement being foreseen and provided. Indeed, you could be content to spend your whole holiday in the villa! Yes, it is in the higher end of the market range, but if you are looking for somewhere special, then you need look no further. There are four outside areas to enjoy the Corsican clean air tinged with the perfume of the marquis or to have a barbecue of seafood purchased from the Calypso poissonnerie in Porto Vecchio. Or for the more active, you can walk down one of three roads leading to the beaches and seaside restaurants! The location is perfect for exploring the delights of Bonifacio or the glorious coastline north of Porto Vecchio such as Pinarella. Indeed, the drive from the villa to Ille Rousse in the north is little more than three hours. We enjoyed Casa Mia and Corse very much. We shed a tear as we sailed out of Porto-Vecchio and waved to whoever was lucky enough to have booked Casa-Mia II after we left. We are determined to make another trip to Corse in the coming years and if we can manage it, use Casa-Mia II as our base.

Peaceful, beautiful, utterly relaxing

By Lisssssa on 09-Jun-2013

Casa Mia II is the perfect place if you want a luxurious holiday for two. The apartment and garden are beautiful in themselves - and the view really is even more amazing than the pictures suggest. The setting is incredibly quiet, you can barely see any other houses and it often feels as though you are alone on the hillside. There's everything you need inside the house, a full kitchen and space, space, space to relax as well as a peaceful bedroom. The quality of the design and finish is outstanding, we loved it all. There's plenty to do and see in the area if you can tear yourself away, restaurants and food shops are close and accessible. And the owners and housekeeper went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could possibly need to enjoy our stay.

The perfect relaxing getaway!

By Jimbo82_13 on 19-Feb-2013

Casa Mia II is a fabulous apartment. It's so hard to find rentals that cater for just two people but actually feel substantial enough. Usually it's small studios but with Casa Mia II, being set over two floors with a very generous living area, you don't feel trapped at all. The apartment was also finished to the highest of standards which made it all the more luxurious. I'd love to be able to give good reviews of the local restaurants but the apartment was so good, we simply bought in some local produce and ate in most evenings whilst taking in the amazing view out of the balcony. If you want to be right next to a bar and restuarant then this may not be the place for you but if you're looking for the ultimate relaxing break then you've found the place!

A five star retreat

By Kerry L on 11-Nov-2012

This beautiful home offers everything you could ask for and more in terms of quality, comfort and privacy. Finished with great care and decorated with attention to detail, we settled in immediately and felt completely at home. To the great delight of my husband, there was a gas barbecue in a protected corner of the courtyard with a functioning light. In the fully equipped kitchen I found my favourite brand of raspberry vinegar. The owners were on the same wavelength as us! From its elevated position we were regaled by spectacular views over Palombaggia Beach, the islands off the Corsican coast and Sardinia in the distance. There was hardly another house or person in sight. Although we visited in the off season, there was plenty to do in the local area. We walked on the beaches nearly every day and swam in the pristine waters. We experienced some severe weather over several consecutive days during which we stayed indoors but were not bored for a minute. The house also boasts a modest library and the wifi worked consistently. We also had the very good fortune of meeting the owners, who welcomed us warmly. They advised us on some of the best places to shop, eat and visit in the area. They were extremely friendly and concerned that we get the most out of our holiday in their beautiful home. I'm not sure when we will get back to Porto Vecchio but if we do I won't stay anywhere else!

Contemporary paradise in Palombaggia, Corsica

By Luxurytraveller_8 on 18-Jul-2012

This villa is just spectacular and well worth a stay if you can get a booking, we have been to Palombaggia before which is the most magical costline in Corsica but the chance to stay in this villa has made it all the more special. The rugged track, the location and the rustic exterior lead you to belive you are about to enter a traditional Corsican hilltop house instead when the door opens you enter an 'Alladins Cave' of beautiful contemporay design with exquisite taste and all your holiday needs catered for in one space. Despite the becah being on your doorstep you are almost tempted not to want to leave your villa. The smallest details from Nespresso machine for fresh coffee, a fully fitted out kitchen capable of catering to any gourmand Chefs needs, and exterior terraces on alll levels with magical views over Palombaggia beach in the distance. If your an interior deisgner at heart you will love the furnishing and fit out a great fusion of contemporary and classical pieces watched over by a portrait of the owners. Rush to this property if you are coming to Palombagggia it will make for an unforgettable experience. Luxurty Traveller Dublin 8

Superb!

By WASOLLIE on 10-Jul-2012

We loved Casa Mia II from the moment we arrived. We have stayed in lots of vacation rentals but Casa Mia is certainly at the top of the list. The location is excellent, peaceful and secluded, but within easy driving distance of the beach, shops and restaurants. The view over Palamboggia Beach from the property is spectacular and we spent many happy hours on the terrace watching the boats on the water, soaking up the sun and relaxing. It is beautifully furnished and equipped too - a real home from home. We can't say enough good things about it and are already planning to return next year.
