Farbrook is a beautiful 18th century farm nestling in a quiet valley in the south west corner of the Peak District National Park. Our long driveway leads to a bridleway on the famous Three Shires Head network providing some of the most spectacular walking and riding in the country. Farbrook is a working farm where we breed excellent quality alpacas for the fine fibre industry, we're surrounded by fields of these beautiful and inquisitive creatures and you're welcome to walk among them. Also on-farm are sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, and sometimes pigs: a paradise for city children, and we're very pet friendly!
Recently converted, Overbrook Barn's style is clean, modern and cosy rather than rustic. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are on the ground floor in a single open-plan space with three beautiful picture-window views over the farm. There's a log burning stove, free wifi broadband, Sky TV, BluRay DVD, and a music system.
The main bedroom (on the ground floor) has a super-king double bed and ensuite with lavatory, hand basin, shower, and towel radiator.
Upstairs are the other three bedrooms and the bathroom. The upstairs bedrooms all have twin beds but these can be made into super-king doubles if you prefer. The bathroom has a bath with shower-over, lavatory, basin, and towel radiator. All bedrooms have TV/DVD, natural fibre carpet, duvets with cotton sheets and covers (bed linen and towels are provided).
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials you'll need for adventurous cooking for a full house! It includes Neff oven, microwave, and ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and washer/dryer, along with the usual range of kitchen equipment: food processor, toaster, kettle, etc..
Oil-fired central heating keeps the barn deliciously warm 24 hours a day, Overbrook has its own phone which you're welcome to use, and there's free wireless broadband internet throughout.
Overbrook has a gated and lit garden which is secure for small children and pets. There's a barbeque area with seating for eight. Well behaved pets are welcome and there's plenty of room for off-the-lead walking on the farm. We can arrange for a hot tub if you'd like one (though there is a charge for this). There's bags of room to smoke on the farm but please don't smoke inside. The farm is your playground: treat it as if you owned the place!
We can provide a rental hot tub for your stay if you wish (short break: £250; 7 nights: £300).
My family and I stayed here for 7 nights at the start of July 2018. We were so lucky in that we never seen rain the whole time and so we were able to explore the surrounding country-side. The barn looks small from the outside but don't be deceived- it is spacious, well-laid out and has a good attention to detail throughout.
Gemma and her family made us feel extremely welcome and also can provide an informative talk about the alpacas they have.
Wonderfully well-equipped cottage in the countryside

We stayed with 4 couples and really enjoyed the tranquillity, beautiful views and sheep and alpaca on our doorstep. The cottage itself is very well equipped and clean & tidy. Would stay again!
Beautiful pet friendly barn

What a little gem - our second stay here, situated within the wonderful views of the Peak District, with paths leading off to many walkways for the hikers or ramblers. Sheep greet you every morning and what a delight to see alpacas when starting your day. The barn is spacious enough for the 8 of us that went this year, beds large enough to sleep 4 and so comfortable. It has everything in place so no need to take a corkscrew for a “just in case”. The owner Gemma was lovely, nice little touch of being us a bottle of Prosecco on our second night. Wonderful place and will definitely be back for a third time.
Wonderful Winter Weekend

We had a great post-Christmas family get together at Overbrook Barn. 6 adults and 1 child (3 years old). The Barn was very warm and welcoming. Heating system very responsive and the living space warmed up very quickly. ( we have stayed in other lets in the winter where this was not the case) .
The views from the barn are stunning and we took several lovely walks across the nearby fields.
Tha farbrook alpacas were a delightful bonus - we watched them make their way down the hill every morning then visited them in their paddock as we left the house.
Gemma, Simon, Ludo and Stephen all made us very welcome and Stephen took the time to explain the basics of alpaca husbandry.
We would love to return to Overbrook in the summer but it was very beautiful in the Winter.
A hidden gem

Lovely place, perfect for active dog lovers - well equipped, warm and cosy, just right for the four of us. A great centre for visiting this part of the Peak District. Simon and Gemma are great hosts, with an interesting enterprise in alpacas. Definitely worth another visit!

We booked this barn for a joint 40th birthday celebration. It was the perfect place for us to spend quality time together. The barn is lovely and cosy in a very picturesque location. There was everything we needed in the barn, including extras such as books & DVDs, which was a nice touch. Lovely owners who were warm and friendly. Couldn’t ask for more and would definitely recommend.
Fantastic location, outstanding accommodation!

We wanted somewhere to accommodate up to 8 people and three dogs for a half-term break/surprise birthday celebrations. Overbrook Barn was perfect, with lots of room and excellent facilities. When we arrived, late on the Friday, the Barn was warm and welcoming. The family arrived at various points, with the high point being a huge Sunday roast, cooked in the kitchen, which is way better than our's...
We enjoyed lots of walking, and relaxed in cosy surroundings in the evenings, playing games and enjoying being a family. The countryside is stunning; a visit to The Roaches is a must.
Our week was perfect - Overbrook Barn comes highly recommended!
