Hazel Brow House is a beautiful Georgian gentleman's residence with antique marble fireplaces, high corniced ceilings and magnificent views, overlooking the river Swale. Come and experience a fantastic, memorable break in this amazing, period country house, in the heart of Swaledale. Ideal for family get togethers and celebrations, the house comfortably accommodates 14 people in spacious, well proportioned rooms. Despite the size of the property, an efficient heating system ensures a toasty warm stay, even in the middle of winter. The sitting room and snug have open fires and comfy settees, TVs, and a good supply of family games and books. The dining room is ideal for enjoying special meals and it also has an open fire.
Bedroom 1 has an en suite and can be either a Super King sized or twin beds, Bedroom 2 faces south and can be either a Super King sized bed or twin beds Bedroom 3 has a king sized 4 poster bed Bedrooms 4 and 5 are double rooms Bedroom 6 can be either a Super King sized bed or twin beds Bedroom 7 is a single room Bedroom 8 has an en suite and a king sized bed The Kitchen, Pantry and Boot room are all well equipped for large groups and the bathrooms are designed for luxury bathing! We're in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and have a criss cross of spectacular walks right from the front door. We've a great restaurant in our local pub, 5 minutes walk away. We’re within a ½ hr’s drive of England’s highest Pub.and England’s highest Waterfall – all within a day’s walking distance for the fittest amongst us! The river Swale is England's fastest flowing river so you can imagine, we've lots of waterfalls, hills, fells and moorland to discover or you could just make the most of the house and relax with a good book or enjoy a barbecue in the garden.
If you want something different, chill out on an Alpaca Trek or try your skills at goose herding! We also offer special interest holidays - please enquire for dry stone walling, spinning and rag rug making breaks.
Why not leave the car at home and come by train on the Settle Carlisle line to Garsdale Station (England’s Highest station). Book your seat on the Little White bus, over the Buttertubs pass, dropping into Swaledale, 1/2 hr's drive from the station. A warm Yorkshire welcome awaits you and a hamper of local goodies.
