Our response to the Covid-19 Epidemic
In response to current Government guidelines such as travel restrictions and the need to protect the health of our guests, ourselves and to support our local health services, we are operating the following policy:

• All reservations at Goonlaze Cottage until the end of May have already been cancelled and refunded to guests.
• All booking cancellations made by us are in response to the current state of this pandemic and is constantly under review. Therefore it is possible that this cancellation period may be extended. We will contact you individually if your stay is affected and refund you via bank transfer.
• Any guests wishing to cancel their reservations will be fully refunded. This includes late cancellations if guests believe they are unwell.
• No new reservations will be taken at this time. This includes moving existing reservations to later dates.
• Dates of cancellations will be blocked-out and unavailable for booking. Should the situation change/improve we will make these dates available for re-booking with the original guests given first refusal of the dates wherever possible.
• No reservations are being taken for 2021 at this time. This situation will be reviewed in October and, if all is well, then bookings will be made available for 2021 onward from November 1st 2020.

It is very sad that we are in a position of having to cancel our lovely guests stay at Goonlaze Cottage, many of you have stayed a number of times and you are missed on so many levels! We are looking forward to re-opening our calendars and hope that you will understand we are doing the best that we can in a time when our responsibility to the local community, including our hospitals needs must be taken into account.

Goonlaze Cottage is a two, double bedroom (sleeps 4), spacious and well equipped cottage. Having completely renovated to a high standard but retaining all the charm of a Cornish cottage. It incorporates a hand-built solid wood kitchen, separate dining room with log burner, comfortable living room opening on to a large sunny, south facing deck with panoramic views and pretty cottage garden, modern bathroom. Environmentally important features like solar panels, underfloor heating and modern conveniences like dishwasher, washing machine, Blu-Ray and Wi-Fi.

Goonlaze Cottage is situated in the pretty coastal village of St Agnes, just 8 minutes off the A30 which means there is easy access for exploring around Cornwall. There are many places to eat within a couple of minutes walk of the cottage including the Tap House, China Palace and the Peterville Inn. The main village centre offers many convenience stores, bakeries, butchers, veg shops, gift shops and more exiting places to eat and is a 5 minute walk.

Truro is a charming country city offering a wide range of activities and shops, main bus and rail station and is around 15 minutes drive away. There are also good local bus services available close to the cottage.

The cottage is situated between two local beaches; Trevaunance Cove is a 15 minute walk (0.7mile) and has life-guards during the holiday season, and a range of great places to eat and tasteful art and gift shops. Trevellas Cove (0.9 mile) is around a 25 minute walk and is a more rugged and quiet beach. Perranporth (a large, sandy beach and great for dog walking) is around 10 minutes by car.

Description of sleeping capacity:
Sleeps 4 (2 Bedrooms) + space for travel cots

Description of accommodation:
Bedroom 1 is on the first floor and includes a king size, memory foam mattress, luxury bedding. Radio/DVD/iPod dock with sleep-timer for lazy lie-ins. Full length mirror, wardrobe and drawers. En-suite shower room with electric power shower, large sink, WC and electric toothbrush/shaver socket and plenty of mirrored storage.

Living Room is bright, airy, and includes a three-seat and two-seat sofa, coffee tables, lamps, a large flat screen television, Blu-ray player with internet connection. Situated on the first floor it is on the same level as the garden and slide’n’fold doors lead out to the large sunny south facing deck and garden.

Bedroom 2 is on the ground floor and includes two beds (suitable for adults and children), wardrobe, drawers, radio/CD player, TV with DVD player, space for travel cot.

Main bathroom is on the ground floor and comprises modern bath with shower, sink, WC, storage.

Dining Room is on the ground floor and includes a log burner, pine table to seat six, bookshelf dresser complete with a range of books and games for those cosy evenings in.

Kitchen is on the ground floor and is serviced by a cosy Everhot range oven, funky fridge/freezer, washing machine, full sized dishwasher & microwave. The custom kitchen has hand-built painted wooden units, breakfast island and pine dresser complete with vintage china. Cupboards are well stocked to satisfy your dining, baking needs.

Environmentally friendly/Green accommodation:
Goonlaze Cottage has been extensively renovated to a high standard and includes Solar Panels for supplying electricity and hot water, low energy appliances and light fittings, high levels of insulation and a log burning stove so you can feel good about your green credentials contributing to maintaining the beautiful environment you will be enjoying!

There is a secure and spacious cottage garden and large, south facing deck with beautiful views over St Agnes village, a disused engine house and countryside. The garden has plenty of space for families to play, entertaining or just sun worshipping after a day on the beach! There is an outdoor dining table and seating for 6 or more.
There's a dedicated space for comfortable parking for one car and further parking is available opposite the cottage on the road.

Cleaning / Towels / Linen:
Cleaning, clean bed linen, towels and table linen is provided for each stay. A discount of £50 is given to guests staying for two weeks if change-over clean is not required between the weeks. Beach towels are not provided and no linens should be removed from the property. Babies bedding and travel cots is not provided.

Other provisions:
There is a wide range of teas, coffee, drinking chocolate supplied in the cottage. A warm welcome awaits including scones, clotted cream, apple juice, milk and flowers all from local suppliers. Hand soaps, washing liquids, cleaning supplies, tea towels are all provided. As well as a toilet roll in each bathroom so no matter what time you arrive you can step straight in and be comfortable immediately.

Well behaved furry family members are welcome at Goonlaze Cottage at no extra charge! Dog towels and bowls are provided but you will need to bring their bedding. The garden is fully secure for dogs but there are steps up to the garden which may be a problem for elderly or very small dogs. Dogs can be left safely in the cottage but are not permitted on the sofas or beds - any additional cleaning required, if this is not adhered to, would be charged at a flat rate of £50.

Lovely cottage just a few minutes walk from the village. Well equipped, enclosed garden for a dog and parking bay outside. The thoughtful touches of the scones, cornish cream and jam waiting for us on arrival plus dog biscuits made us feel very welcome.
