Luxurious oak beamed, centrally heated farmhouse, open fireplaces, bread oven, traditional Burgundian stone and terra cotta floors, set in own meadows at Villars, Precy sous Thil on the edge of the Morvan National Park, a short drive from the picturesque medieval town of Semur en Auxois. Within easy reach of Beaune, Cote d'Or vineyards and Dijon, capital of the Duchy of Burgundy, with its ducal palace and huge covered market.

A fabulous conservatory and indoor swimming pool (kidney shaped 10m length) in converted barn
5 bedrooms, 3 with ensuite facilities, a family bathroom with WC, 1 shower room with basin, and 1 separate WC with hand basin. There are 2 double bedrooms and 3 bedrooms with twin beds which can be converted into doubles, accommodating 10 adults. In addition there is a folding bed suitable for up to 16 year old and 2 travel cots for babies accommodating in addition 3 children. These can be placed in the larger bedrooms, if so desired. All bedrooms and bathrooms are on the first floor and are independently reached from a central corridor. The main bedroom has an en suite bathroom with separate shower. Bedrooms 4 and 5 have en-suite shower rooms.

Soicherons is located in the Cote d'Or department of Burgundy characterised by gently rolling green hills, the Canal de Bourgogne, Charolais cattle and of course the world famous Cote d'Or vineyards, home to the finest wines and famous villages such as Volnay, Gevrey Chambertin, Nuits St George, Santenay and Savigny les Beaune. It is on the edge of the Morvan National Park, an area of forest, hills, rivers. waterfalls and lakes ideal for hiking mountain biking and waterpsorts.

Explore the Burgundy canal on a lazy afternoon boat trip. Visit historic Burgundy, medieval Semur en Auxois, the ancient châteaux of Chateauneuf, Bazoches, Bussy Rabutin, Rochepot, Epoisses. Venture into the Morvan with its large lakes and beach areas where you can windsurf, water ski or laze around on a pedalo. Burgundy is a centre of gastronomy -sample the delights of 3* Michelin cooking at Saulieu 15 minutes away or half an hour away at Esperence lying beneath the picturesque hill village and religious centre of Vezelay with its spectacular Basilica, art galleries and craft shops. Don't miss Beaune, its beautiful Hotel Dieu with the world famous glazed tile roof, Saturday market, its Caves for Degustation of the finest wines Burgundy has to offer. Spend a Friday in Dijon for its market including antique stalls, the Palais des Ducs and Musee de Beaux Arts
A car is essential so driving to the property is the only feasible option.
The nearest airports are Paris Orly or Lyon, both of which are a 2 hour drive away.
TGV trains run to Montbard which is a 20 minute drive, or to Dijon which is about 40 minutes but the trains are more frequent. Car hire is available at Dijon station.
The property is located about 5 minutes drive from exit 23 Bierre les Semur on the A6 Autoroute.


Excellent choice

The house is located in a quiet corner of France, with minimal traffic noise - nothing from the nearby autoroute - yet is a short five minute drive from the nearest boulangerie and supermarket.

It is a well looked after family home that has been carefully restored. We had between 4 and 10 people staying at various times over two weeks, and the house could easily cope with these numbers. The facilities are exactly what we needed and we made full use of the swimming pool and tennis courts - but the weather was so hot we didn't even have to resort to the indoor pool.

When not visiting some of the nearby small towns and countryside, we spent most of the time on the veranda, eating/drinking/reading or sitting by the swimming pool when not using the tennis courts. The interior of the house was also cool during the really hot weather (35 degrees ++) for those of us who aren't sun seekers.

Overall this was an excellent choice for the house itself, and its location, for a restful relaxing two weeks in the French countryside. We would be very happy to stay here again.

We had a lovely lovely holiday and stay in Soicherons. The house is great, very big with lots of living space so we could all relax without being on top of each other. The weather was a little temperamental towards the end of he week so the indoor pool was a life saver as our two girls loved swimming. Also the heated outdoor pool was lovely and warm and a great size. We also made lots of use of the tennis court and outdoor gardens and swing / slide area. It's a great house for kids. We visited Vezelay on one day too which was lovely and only 40 mins away. A great stay and we would certainly recommend it!

Fantastic place

We have stayed here many times before and with our growing extended family this was the first time we have taken children. We had a fabulous time, and everyone enjoyed it. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. There is plenty of room so we don't all get under each others feet and with 2 swimming pools and 5 children we were in the water a lot!
It is set in beautiful peaceful surroundings. You really get a chance to switch off and relax. Local shops have everything you need and there are plenty of day trips to go and explore the area too. We loved it and can't wait to go back again.

Great relaxation in Great House

This was our 2nd visit and as before we arrived to what is a very beautifully and comfortably furnished house. We received excellent pre-arrival information from the owner that meant we could stock up en route and put our feet up for the duration of our break. Truly, this house and its location and facilities are excellent. The indoor pool is an absolute gem surrounded by beautiful countryside!

wonderful home away from home!

Arriving at Soicherons for the first time is a very happy experience. You, of course, have been well briefed in advance, and have an anticipation of what to expect. The truth is though that the information provided does not fully prepare you for the first impression that the house and it's grounds make.
The farmhouse, an easy days drive from the south of England, has been extremely well refurbished to provide extensive accommodation of the highest order. Very clean and well maintained, it is an 'inviting' home that manages a large household together with providing havens of peace for those that want to escape the madding crowd.
The pools inside and out ( and both are impressive but the inside pool is magnificent) and tennis court, gardens and grounds, and Precy nearby with its boulangeries and supermarket, mean that seeking attraction further afield is a questionable effort - stay, relax and enjoy the charms of a very special place.

Marvellous house and location

A perfect place to spend a relaxing holiday. A fantastically well equipped and comfortable house. Everything is provided to assist in making the perfect holiday, whatever the weather. Suitable for all ages and ideal for the extended family holiday, but so large and spacious that you could always find a quiet corner in which to relax away from the excitement in either of the two pools or on the tennis court. Lovely garden with a most beautiful wild flower patch and set in the middle of the most lovely French countryside. However local shops were in easy reach and we were able to make the most of the local produce and above all the local wine. All in all the most perfect house for a most relaxing family holiday.

Location très agréable, spacieuse et conforme au descriptif.
En pleine campagne, vraiment calme.
Le mode de réservation est inhabituel car il faut payer l'intégralité d'avance par virement, mais tout c'est bien passé pour nous, de la récupération des clefs, à la restitution de la caution.
