Cornflower Cottage is a Victorian semi-detached cottage built in 1858. It offers accommodation for four people. There is a small front garden and a large back garden with lawn, patio, outdoor seating and flowerbeds. Although situated in the heart of Shaftesbury there is ample parking for two cars which is accessed at the rear of the property. As well as full central heating throughout, there is a multifuel stove in the lounge. Conveniently situated a few minutes from the high steet, supermarkets are a short walk away and it is a pleasure to browse down the high street with its variety of shops and markets.
The Cottage - The cottage provides comfortable accommodation while the original character has been maintained. There is double glazing throughout, central heating and a fully equipped kitchen. The internal walls are the original wooden panelling. The kitchen is fully equipped and retains its quarry tile flooring. All linen and towels can be provided
The Downstairs - Downstairs there is a spacious lounge with television, DVD player, comfortable seating and a multifuel stove. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, washing machine, fridge and dishwasher. There is a dining area at one end of the kitchen and access to the garden through french windows.There is a small room where an airbed can be used for a fourth guest. There is also a downstairs toilet with wash hand basin.
The Upstairs - Upstairs the accommodation offers a large double bedroom with twin beds which can be placed together, a single bedroom, as well as a bathroom with bath, toilet and wash hand basin. There is also a separate shower cubicle at the end of the hallway.
A small room downstairs with an en suite toilet and wash hand basin can also be used to provide an extra sleeping area as there is a luxury airbed available.
Location - Shaftesbury is one of the oldest and highest towns in England and overlooks the Blackmore Vale. Gold Hill, made famous by the Hovis Bread advert, is a five minute walk away. Places to drive to include the Dorset World Heritage Coast for fossil hunting, Salisbury with its cathedral, cinema and concerts, Bath and Longleat. The gardens at Stourhead are nearby. There are many walking routes, with outstanding views as well as local villages with antique shops to explore.
