Brazengate is two bed-roomed, extremely comfortable, lodge in Wharfedale, sleeping four people. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, plus plenty of storage space for your clothing. A door leads onto the veranda, with a garden area which attracts a wide range of bird life, plus regular visits from the local pheasants. Keep the bird feeders full, and you will see many beautiful birds. If up early in the morning, you might be lucky enough to see a deer outside.

The second bedroom is equipped with single beds, and an en-suite shower room. The main living room has a door onto the veranda, where you can relax on warm days, either watching the bird life, or maybe having a barbecue. The house is very warm and cosy, having been designed and made in Sweden, and is therefore perfect for an anytime of year holiday. The veranda runs across the whole of the front of Brazengate, and you will find a garden table and chairs for your relaxation.

Our kitchen/dining is very well equipped, with microwave, dishwasher, and large fridge freezer, and has everything you need to prepare a tasty evening meal, that's if you are not out sampling the many excellent eateries in the area.
Centrally located in this beautiful part of the National Park, there are lovely walks from the doorstep, whilst nearby is the popular village of Grassington, with its cobbled square and wide range of shops and pubs serving good food. On site there is a pub serving food every evening, which is only a few minutes walk from your door - no need to drive.
An attractive leisure centre is on site, at extra cost, with swimming pool, Jacuzzi, and sauna. Therapies can also be booked for a holiday treat. The leisure centre also has coffee and light snacks available. It is possible to book a weekly pass when staying at Brazengate.

For food shopping, Skipton, twelve miles south of Brazengate, has three supermarkets, and a wide range of other shops. There is also a large market on various days throughout the week, which is well worth a visit. For more local shops, Grassington, 1.5 miles away, has a Spar shop, a deli and a wine shop, plus of course a range of shops selling outdoor clothing, gifts, clothes etc. Grassington is a quaint village, with its cobbled streets, and a wide number of eating places, varying from local pub food, cafes, fish and chips, plus a very good Indian takeaway.

There is also a Tourist Office, where you can find out much more about the area, and places to visit. Wharfedale is a very beautiful area, and there are so many places to visit and enjoy. I am more than happy to help with suggestions which fit in with your interests. Just give me a ring and I'll answer any of your questions about either Brazengate, or the area of Wharfedale.
Sorry but we do not accept pets.

We had a lovely relaxing week at Brazengate lodge, which was extremely comfortable and well equipped for our stay. The location is really pretty with plenty of places to visit within easy travelling - Grassington is just down the road, Kettlewell and Settle to name just a few. On Long Ashes itself there is a well equipped leisure centre and pub with a wonderful restaurant . During our stay whilst just walking on the estate we saw deer just walking along the road , plenty of birds, squirrels and lots of rabbits. I'm really looking forward to our next stay

What a perfect week in this perfect cabin. We found the cabin to be spotlessly clean and well equipped. The kitchen equipment is wonderful. It was cool on a night but the cabin was warm and snug. The balcony is lovely and big and we were able to sit and watch the local wildlife, including two deer on the last morning. The site is well set out with a very nice leisure centre and pub with restaurant. In the surrounding towns there are plenty of eateries. The cabin has lots of leaflets about places to visit. The whole booking process was easy to do. Dot answered emails quickly and thoroughly. Thank you again Dot for a wonderful week in your cabin.

Thank you very much indeed for your positive review, and I'm so pleased that you had such a lovely time staying in Brazengate. How lovely to see the deer! We have always loved the Dales, and it's good to hear of others getting as much pleasure from the area as we do.
There are so many wonderful places to visit, with a wide variety of differing vistas, from the wilder countryside further north towards Wensleydale, and the more gentle countryside of Wharfedale, with the River Wharfe meandering through such stunning scenery. It's an enjoyable place for both the active walker, and the less active who can visit the many beautiful villages and waterfalls, finding excellent eateries along the way.
I do hope that you return in the future for another holiday, and look forward to welcoming you back again.
Thank you once again for your review.
