Simply outstanding. Cosy charm.

By Rebecca on 26-May-2019

We spent two weeks at Granary Cottage at Home Farm and it was simply outstanding. Mike and Ruth (and their two gorgeous wee dogs, Archie and Harry) could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Home Farm and the cottages are fantastic - quintessential white washed country cottages with all the cosy charm one could want coupled with fabulous modern conveniences. We found the shared laundry and huge freezer really helpful. The surrounding countryside is so beautiful and there is so much to do in the area. Top marks from us!

First class quality cottages

By Bob P on 02-Sep-2017

This is the 3rd time we've rented one of Mike and Ruth's cottages, this time the 3 bedroom Granary one as we had staying with us our son and daughter in law as well as our 2 grandsons aged 7 & 9. As before we weren't disappointed. Everything, and I mean everything is spot on. It's spotlessly clean, you would have thought that they had only been built a week or 2 before, they're that good. The kitchen is very well equipped, there is nothing that they haven't thought of and all the crockery and glasses are all good quality, there was also 2 fridges with additional freezer drawers in the guest laundry room.. A nice touch was all the colour matching kettle, toaster, microwave and bowl. On arrival we were met with a wonderful vase of freshly cut flowers from their garden and some of Ruth's homemade cake. The linen throughout was again of a very good quality with very comfortable beds and pillows. We all had another brilliant stay and we couldn't recommend these cottages higher. Although we didn't have any dogs, it's a great place for them to run around the bottom fields as our grandsons did kicking a ball and throwing a frisbee!

Lovely cottages and location

By Sdraper49 on 24-Aug-2017

Cottages are first class, we stayed in the Granary. Clean and fully equipped with everything you need. Hosts are friendly and welcoming. Very dog friendly, a safe and secure environment for them and they are made to feel like it's their holiday too! Highly recommend! A great base if you love long walks and climbing hills! Beautiful location.

A Magical Family Christmas at the Granary Cottage, Home Farm

By Sue E on 09-Jan-2017

Well, I am not one for going away for Christmas, i'm a home bird. But my youngest daughter has recently moved to Bristol and couldn't get back to Yorkshire for Christmas, so the solution was...take Christmas to her.
That meant me, my hubby, my eldest daughter, my ancient mother and our decrepit dog...piled into 2 cars and set off for Somerset.
We found Granary cottage on the "Owners Direct" web site..and what a complete JOY it was.
The whole journey down, my hubby kept saying " you know it will be very small don't you" " prepare yourselves" well... how wrong he was.
The cottage is plenty, plenty big enough for 6 adults and a dog......
It is beautifully done out. Everything you could need was there. a huge dining table.... all the cooking equipment to make a Christmas dinner, dishes, glasses, mugs etc Perfect.
The bed rooms are gorgeous... the bathroom modern and good showers. The lounge had enough seating for 6 people... great Tv and a wonderful wood burning stove, that got a LOT of use. Plentiful logs to collect from the barn, a very helpful information folder, with ideas for great walks.......
special touches...... dog bowl, dog treats ( how sweet)
and a CHRISTMAS tree!!!!!! so we had somewhere to put our presses under.
I can't fault the cottage, the setting, the equipment or the HOSTS!!!
i will definitely come again... and would recommend this cottage and the whole of Home Farm to anyone..... ENJOY !
