Tone Dale House is a large, comfortable Georgian house that's perfect for house parties for friends and family, corporate groups and small weddings. It's was the mill owners house and has a waterway in the garden that used to provide power to the mill.
The house has large spaces for socialising. The red dining room can seat all 31 guests together in comfort and is adjacent to the party room that has an integrated sound system and air conditioning - it's great for dancing and there is a big screen for watching movies or a big match.
The sitting room overlooks the 4 acre garden and has an open log fire, comfy sofas on which to enjoy chatting to your friends, maybe with tea and scones and is a charming space for pre dinner drinks. Next to the sitting room is the games room with table tennis, pool table and table football. This room is often the hub of the house for family groups. There is a smaller sitting room on the other side of the hallway, a space for anyone who would like a little quiet time.
The kitchen has plenty of cooking equipment for large groups and a big gas range cooker. There are ample supplies of china, crockery and cutlery, a microwave, 2 dishwashers, a washing machine, tumble dryer, fridges and a freezer. Next to the kitchen is the breakfast room with original William Morris wallpaper and long sash windows overlooking the garden.
The main house has 10 bedrooms for 21 guests, 4 of the bedrooms have ensuite and there are 4 other bath/shower rooms to share. The bedrooms have a variety of beds, some can be king size or singles.
Across the courtyard the Stables has been renovated to blend contemporary with the traditional elements of the building. It has an additional 5 bedrooms for 10 guests - 2 of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, sharing a shower room and 3 are upstairs sharing a bathroom. There is a light and airy kitchen for a morning cup of coffee, but most of the entertainment and dining happens in the main house. The Stables are ideal for anyone who wants to have a little space away from the main action in the house.
Outside in the garden are level lawns for croquet and badminton, or your own fun and games. The large hot tub is by the main terrace overlooking the mill waterway.
Tone Dale House is on the outskirts of the market town of Wellington in Somerset. North and South coast are about an hour away - on the south coast, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Beer and Branscombe. On the north coast Kilve (great for fossil observing), and Minehead, which has a steam railway line that’s great fun for adults and children, running all the way to Bishops Lydeard. The Quantock Hills are a superb area for walking, riding and mountain biking.
