Description

From rock pools to sandy beaches; for exploring and paddling it forms the ideal base for a family holiday, There are two routes into town, one along the seashore for the more adventurous passing the Life Boat House (open to visitors), the Fishermen's Beach and sandy Sailing Club beach. The apartment is on the Coastal Path which leads over the Downs to Durlston Castle, the Lighthouse and beyond. A 15 minute drive will take you to the National Trust Beaches at Studland and Shell Bay. Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Dor and the ghost village of Tyneham and Kimmeridge are all within easy reach among the many other delights waiting to be discovered in the Isle of Purbeck. Although only a short stroll into town the Point provides a haven of peace and tranquility even in the busy summer months.
'Waterside' is a semi detached, end of terrace family home of character, The apartment, on the ground floor has 3 bedrooms that can accommodate 2 adults and 4 children comfortably. In addition there is a sofa bed in the living room which can accommodate a further two people. There is a kitchen/dining room and a living room with sea views. There is gas central heating and a coal fire in the living room. There is a secluded garden and beyond a private patio (shared) where one can wine, dine, sunbath and watch the sun go down. The Kitchen door opens to the backyard with shared drying facilities and through the back gate to the car park/ Downs. Parking, first come first served behind the building. There is a car parking permit provided for use in any of the marked bays on the tarmac road. We have a good rapport with the neighbours above and to the side. It is not suitable for large loud groups or single sex parties. We would ask guests to respect this. It is an ideal Family Holiday Retreat. Well behaved pets are welcome by arrangement but will incur a fee of £10; no animals on the furniture, please, or outside the front gate on the shared patio. Non smoking.
The rental period runs from a Thursday to a Thursday; but out of the Summer Season this may be negotiable. This is to your benefit as it avoids road congestion at weekends, which is when the majority of holiday lets conduct their 'change over'. A deposit of 25% secures the booking with the balance being paid two weeks before arrival upon receipt of which the keys will be sent.. Payment is by Bank Transfer.
You will need to bring your own linen and towels. Pillows, Duvets or Blankets are provided. You are responsible for cleaning and removing rubbish. If you do not wish to do this we will provide the details of our cleaner (circa £15 per hr). This will be at your convenience/cost.

wonderful place to stay

By Natalie welch on 13-Jul-2023

We had the most memorable and wonderful stay at Seaview. A property that is full of wonderful history, in one of the best locations of swanage bay. The property is well equipt and full of interesting items. The owners of the property are very responsive and helpful. I couldn't of asked for a better stay and cannot wait to get back down there again. If you do go to stay in this property i recommend a trip to swanage museum to read about the history of the house and if you are into walking especially coastal paths this is a prime location to start as it is right at the bottom of your garden! I was so sad to leave this location, thank you Peter for the most wonderful stay.

A Special Place

By Malcolm McGivan on 06-Aug-2020

This summer, we spent a lovely holiday in this ground floor apartment overlooking Swanage Bay. The name of the house, 'Waterside', could not be more apt. Walk out of the front door and you are by the water's edge. We were fortunate enough to be there during an unbroken spell of hot weather, so eating outside on the private terrace was a real pleasure. The view across the busy bay and towards the town is captivating and some of the sunsets we experienced were stunning. This is, indeed, a special place. Inside, there's space for six, which includes two bunk beds in each of two rooms. There is a sense that you are looking after someone's home while they are away - it's comfortable and functional, with a period feel. We didn't use our car very much, as there was plenty to enjoy within walking distance, including the town centre - via the beach, if you like - as well as coastal walks. There are good local bus services, too. We would certainly love to go back.

Fabulous Position

By PT on 12-Jul-2019

Comfortable 1950's style furniture. If you are looking for 5 star décor this is not for you but in keeping with the property and adequate, Fabulous position, good all round amenities larger than expected. Touching distance of the sea, perfect for swimming, fishing, crabbing, relaxing outside dining weather permitting was a highlight. We were lucky with the weather and had a fabulous relaxing time. Although reviews are subjective it would be hard not to enjoy a holiday here. Would definitely book again.

Amazing Location

Have stayed in numerous properties in Swanage over the years but the location of Waterside is outstanding.

Wonderful location

Wonderful location. We stayed here with one of our daughters and her two children. This review is based on all three generations! The property is in the last building at the tip of Peveril Point with wonderful views and easy access to cliff top walks and the town. The view from the sitting room is stunning and the children loved the easy access to the sea. There was plenty of room for us all. We heartily recommend this apartment to anyone who likes peace and quiet, fresh air, views and easy access to parks, restaurants, shops etc.

Charming

By Stephen W on 23-May-2018

Charming part of a charming town. Six adults and two youngsters had a happy time right on the water. A big kitchen table suited us and a lovely ground floor layout of rooms was private and peaceful. Well suited to town and all amenities therein. Really want to return; nine nights not enough
