Description

Moorside, Tavistock is our family home which we are making available for holiday lets for 6 months before moving down there ourselves. The House provides 4 large bedrooms, one with an ensuite, ample living accommodation, generous kitchen and a large wrap around conservatory with views over a pretty landscaped garden. In addition there is a large triple bay garage with additional parking for up to three cars.

Tavistock is a thriving, beautifully friendly market town that is worthy of any visitor. An ancient stannary town and home of the cream tea, Tavistock is the only town in Devon to hold world heritage status. The vibrancy and uniqueness of Tavistock is undeniable with a range of beautiful local independent shops which are a far cry from today's typical high street. Not to be overlooked is the famous pannier market or the award-winning farmers’ market. It is truly a shoppers paradise.

Tavistock has direct access to Dartmoor. The Western Moor is magical and fantastic for walking, cycling and riding. Several National Trust properties are in easy reach: Lydford Gorge, Buckland Abbey and Cotehele are all nearby.

National Cycle Route 27, Drakes Trail and the West Devon Way to Plymouth are all easily accessible from the town centre. There are guided walks from and around the town, wild swimming in the rivers, a golf course, museum, gym, swimming pool and arts centre.

Plymouth, the National Marine Aquarium and the historic Barbican are 20 mins drive and the stunning beaches of North Cornwall are a 40 minute drive. A similar drive brings you to the South Hams with the quaint twin villages of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers with a fine selection of local pubs and access to the South West Coastal path.

What a Find!

By Kate on 18-Sep-2020

The Post House is a large, welcoming, comfortable and well-equipped place for a group of friends or family to spend time in the quaint and lively village of Noss Mayo. Overlooking the ever-changing estuary, the house has terrific views from the windows and terrace, where al fresco feasts may be enjoyed (bbq provided). This is the sort of house you might daydream of owning and coming back to time and again. A real home from home. The village has much of interest, with two great pubs : The Swan - a few paces from the front door, is the locals’ local, but very welcoming to visitors too. Nice, friendly service and decent pub grub with a fabulous location by the quay. The Ship, only a short walk away, is more ‘high end’ with a really tempting menu. The Chilli Prawns and Seafood Pasta are to die for! If walking is your thing, you won’t be disappointed as there are several lovely walks in the vicinity, as well as opportunities to kayak (there are two at the house for guests’ use), paddle board or just swim. Enjoy!

A relaxing holiday

By Shona on 11-Sep-2020

We have just returned from a week in this lovely house. While we were blessed by the best weather the accommodation was easily as great as the weather. Despite current circumstances everything felt very safe and secure and I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage. The area is absolutely beautiful and we spent many happy hours on the terrace. The equipment provided in The Posthouse was high spec and we found everything a family of 6 with two young children and pets needed to make our stay a real home from home. We have already booked to return next year!
