The Cornerhouse, which dates back to the early 18th Century, has a wealth of period features and traditional English country charm. The cottage is situated in the centre of the friendly and thriving village of Tideswell in the Derbyshire Dales Peak District National Park, near to Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Buxton and easy access to many beautiful walks, cycle routes and historic places to visit during your stay. The Cornerhouse has been lovingly renovated, and equipped to a high standard with quality beds, linens, fittings and furnishings and soft fluffy towels, whilst retaining numerous character features, including oak beams throughout, flagstone and wood floors on the ground floor, helping to make it pet friendly. It has an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area which many of our guests tell us is the perfect holiday home for families and friends to holiday together. We have a small walled and gated garden which is separate from the cottage, providing a tranquil space to relax on a spring or summer evening after walking or cycling in the area.
It's central village location, within walking distance to many local independent shops, cafes, pubs, 2 fish and chip shops plus a restaurant and next to the beautiful 14th Century Church known as The Cathedral of The Peak, all help to make for a relaxing break after your journey and from which to enjoy the numerous attractions The Peak District has to offer.
COMPLIMENTARY WELCOME HAMPER : A bottle of wine, plus delicious selection of products from village independent shops, for example including some of the following: milk, butter and eggs from Tideswell Dairy, bread and cakes from the local Bakery and Deli.

FIREPLACE & SITTING ROOM: The open plan oak-beamed sitting room with its original grit-stone fireplace housing a Clearview log burner, gives both an airy and cosy feel to the cosy cottage. It has comfortable sofas for 6 people, a flat screen TV, Blu Ray DVD player and a cupboard with board games, DVDs for a relaxing evening in after a day's walking in The Peak District or eating out in one of the numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants in Tideswell right on your doorstep.

STORAGE & LAUNDRY Facilities: Additional storage is provided in a traditional walk in larder plus a cellar with a washing machine and tumble dryer for guests' use.
BATH & SHOWERS: Two bath/shower rooms, one on each floor, combines original features with 21st century modern comforts.
DOG WELCOME PACK: For your dog we include a welcome pack including treats ,doggy bags, bowls and to borrow a book of walks with your dog.
GARDEN: Relax in the cottage garden found just at the end of the walkway in front of the house adjacent to the church known as The Cathedral of The Peak, where we provide storage for bikes. Local people walk their dogs in the adjacent churchyard and through the village lanes to nearby country fields.
PARKING: Free and unlimited parking is available on the streets and market places in the village. One car can drop off and unload right next to The Cornerhouse.
Guests have recently booked for family birthdays, special anniversary celebrations and a mini Honeymoon, as the top vaulted bedroom is a romantic, characterful and spacious bedroom.

Lovely short break in Tideswell. Snow made village look beautiful
By Felicity S on 04-Mar-2018The house was warm and cosy - the wood burning stove was a bonus in the freezing cold weather. It was ideal being in the centre of a village as we were virtually snowed in. We could easily walk to shops and pubs. The house was very well equipped and the welcome hamper very much appreciated. We need to come again when to explore more of the beautiful countryside
Perfect cottage for Christmas

The children loved the Christmas tree and the advent train. Have never been to a cottage so well equipped and the welcome hamper was a treat, and we all enjoyed the Christmas cake. The beds were so comfy so we all slept well. Would like to visit again in spring or summer so that we could take advantage of the glorious walks. We decided to come home a day early as there was an amber warning of snow, which Nikki very kindly notified us about. The cottage is a real home from home and would be hard to beat. My Response Thank you Margaret for taking time during this busy Christmas holiday to write such a glowing review. We’re delighted that you and your family including your grandchildren enjoyed staying in The Cornerhouse this Christmas and appreciated the quality holiday experience we aim to provide each guest. By Jessica D on 18-Oct-2017The Cornerhouse, 1 Pursglove Road, Tideswell, SK17 8LG, United Kingdom Date of Stay 7 Oct 2017 We had a wonderful stay in Tideswell at the Corner House. It's a beautiful cottage, in an amazing location, right next to the cathedral. We were travelling with our two young children, and this house is just perfect for families. The owners have thought of everything. The welcome hamper was filled with goodies from the local shops (and were delicious). The kitchen is well equipped (with a fantastic coffee maker). The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels, and even a wonderful selection of children's books and games to keep us entertained. The cottage has tons of charm, with exposed beams, stone floors, and beautiful details in all the rooms. If we ever find ourselves back in the Peaks, we'll be sure to stay again.
