My wife and I stayed in the cottage for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our break. The cottage is in a quiet location just outside of the village of Grange Moor. It comprises of living room, large kitchen diner, toilet and small reading room on level one. Downstairs is 2 bedrooms, one a large double, a twin room and a large family bathroom. In the living room, there is a door into the garden, it is split onto two levels. The lower level is for the residents of the cottage. Everything this in the cottage that you need but you could do with a proper coffee table or side tables in the living room, as there is nowhere to set down your tea/coffee/drinks cups/glasses. The owners, Fiona and Jonny are lovely hosts and were a pleasure to deal with. Great walks are just outside the front door and are a added bonus. Our dogs loved the place. But remember there a lot of horses and riders in the area. So keep your dogs under control.

I would loved to have been here in summer as the location was fantastic. Very beautiful rain or shine though I missed out on sitting in the garden of an evening. There are lots of fun pubs to visit which are just a short drive / hike away. This is also a great location for a working retreat as long as you don't need high speed internet.

We loved our recent stay in Grange Moor, the property was very comfortable, well equipped, beautifully situated and Fiona and John were wonderful hosts! The beds were very comfortable, something I often struggle with. My 19 month old loved looking out over the horses and all the friendly animals around. Thanks so much, we’d definitely come back!

What a lovely cottage we thought it a lovely place to use as a base

Really good property, very well equipped and cosy, with plenty of space to not be on top of each other. We used it as a base to meet up with family in both Yorkshire and Lancashire and would do so again. The kitchen was well equipped and enabled us to entertain family as well.

This is such a beautiful cottage and made our trip to England perfect. Fiona is so great and easy to work with. My only regret is that we were so busy visiting people/sights that we didn't spend more time in the cottage. It had everything we needed for a terrific vacation. Thank you Fiona! I really want to return someday.

Really enjoyed our stay. The cottage had everything we needed (apart from a bread knife) and lots of lovely touches to make you welcome. The only downside for us is that there is nowhere private to let the dogs out for a comfort break, so you always have to take them out on lead. This isn't ideal first thing in the morning/last thing at night when all the garden areas are shared so you have to risk being seen in your pyjamas/wellies. Only downside to a gorgeous location with lots of lovely walks from the door and within a short drive too.

This is the second time we have stayed at the cottage and we enjoyed it even more this time! With just the two of us and one doggy, it is ideal and suits our purposes perfectly. It's well equipped, comfortable and very cosy and Johnny and Fiona (and mum) are excellent hosts supplying extra bits and pieces we asked for. We'd love to stay again next November but booking is not operational yet. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Fiona I'd be grateful if you'd contact me re one or two things. I no longer have an email address or phone number for you Phil Ellis

a beautiful fully equipped hideaway

A stunning hide away from all the hustle and bustle but within 10 minutes of civilisation. we had no problem finding it ,just be wary its down a rather narrow track at the end of a road,ok in summer but could be a little tricky in winter if youre not in a 4x4. plenty of walks to try immediatley from your front door. A fantastic fully equipped annex with stunning views and everything you could want . luxurious comfort in easy reach of Wakefield ,Barnsley ,Sheffield and Leeds , 1 minutes drive from the motorway junction. What you have to realise is living quarters are at ground level and bedrooms and bathrooms are below via a rather steep staircase, so if you have pets or children you have to take this into consideration. We had to move a toybox to create a barrier prevent the rather old german shepherd trying to join us down stairs .( pets arent allowed downstairs). Fiona was brilliant , excellent communication and information inside, and even whem the dog scratched the inside of the room door door in a panic when we went out it wasnt a problem.( if there are any incidents theres ionformation how to deal with it without it spoiling your holiday) I would fully recomend the place for a relaxing stay.

We (family of 4 plus 2 dogs) had the fortune to stay at this cottage for 9 weeks whilst we waited for a house sale to complete. Incredible cottage, wonderful owners and a fantastic rural location. This cottage is not your typical holiday cottage, it is a real home superbly fitted out with exquisite decor. The quality of the towels, bedding, and adds on such as toiletries and welcome pack was fantastic. Super garden and grounds - great for the dogs with some great circular walks. Whilst we are local and did not use the cottage for a holiday, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the area - a fantastic base, peace and quiet with close proximity to village and main towns. You will not be disappointed if you book a break at GrangeMoor cottage.

Lovely cottage retreat

Me and a friend satyed here as a base for exploring Yorkshire for a couple of days. We chose the cottage because of how close it is to the Sculpture Park (we had to be there at 5:30am one morning to watch the sunrise!). We spent 3 nights here and found the cottage to be exceptional; very well fitted with modern applianes, all looked new, with a relaxing living room with wood burning stove, and a beautiful view over fields, horses and forest. The owner was very accomodating and easy to get in contact with - we couldn't have asked for a more comfortable and ideal place to stay! Some people might find this cottage to be a little "out of the way", but this that is what we wanted!
