Lovely weekend away

My boyfriend and I had such a relaxing weekend at Cob Cottage. The house was lovely and spacious (we especially enjoyed the hot tub!) but it still had a cosy, welcoming feel thanks to its rural location. It was located just 2 minutes from the local village pub where we had a really good meal on Friday night. We were easily able to visit several beaches and restaurants that were only a short drive away - overall a great weekend and we would love to come back for longer!

Really lovely cottage, very well equipped. Owners very friendly and helpful. The garden would be perfect for families, very surprising how far it extends. Only downsides were the neighbours, on one side there are some extremely yappy dogs and a bit further along one hilariously grumpy (although he warmed to us eventually) older man, clearly he's had issues with previous visitors and parking! BUT these are minor issues and should not put anyone off staying in this glorious little cottage. Its perfectly situated for many Dorset highlights and only 5 minutes into Dorchester. Cannot recommend highly enough. Please eat at the New Inn - the food is incredible.
A great space for a large family group!

Really enjoyed our week in the cottage. It’s got a great open plan downstairs kitchen/diner and lounge area. The garden is a great space too and is accessed via a 20m alleyway (maybe something to bear in mind if you’re travelling with kids) where the hot tub is. The parking is on a very narrow access road and you can’t park right outside. There is parking for one car 20m or so further up the lane and for 2nd or 3rd cars round the corner in the village church car park. It’s really well placed for Dorchester, Weymouth and Swanage (a little further by car) and is tucked away in a beautiful Dorset village surrounded by countryside. The village has a country pub called the New Inn. We went twice and it was excellent.

We had such a fantastic stay! The space was perfect for our family with lovely communal areas great for family dinners. The bedrooms big enough for what you needed and nice to have two bathrooms as well.

Nice and spacious. Home from home facilities including washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. Only minor problem a lack of parking but you can park round the corner outside the church but do not be put off by this.
Cozy cottage in rural location
By Sara E on 14-Nov-2017
Wow. Spent 4 nights at Cob cottage and it had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing few days in this wonderful part of the UK. Very clean and spacious with a huge garden. Our days were action packed so only had the evening to enjoy the comforts, there is also a wood burning stove which we didn't need as the weather was fairly mild. Only negative was no private parking, we had to park the car jammed up against the hedge as there was hardly any room for other vehicles to pass to access their properties. However this did not spoil our visit one bit. Thank you to William and Sabine for allowing us to stay with our three dogs.... we had a great time !

We rented Cob Cottage for a week, for two families - each with a 2 year old child. The cottage itself was clean, tidy, and very child friendly. The kitchen area was very well equipped for cooking large meals, with plenty of table space for eating in a group. The nice big garden was ideal for toddlers to run around in; and a well proportioned hot tub is available too - which was fantastic. The cottage came with one stair gate (on request), but we found it better to take another along as well to allow one to be in place at both the top and bottom of the stairs. The location was perfect for our week - 30-40 mins drive to the various beaches & tourist spots from Lyme Regis to Weymouth, easy access to other tourist places / museums / etc, 15 mins from a supermarket, & 5 mins walk to the village pub for a Sunday roast. All in all, highly recommended! 5 stars!
Deceptively spacious & well-equipped cottage in delightful Dorset village - & added bonus of the hot tub!
By Zurb on 03-May-2017
Beautiful Dorset with its rolling countryside right on the doorstep! Village pub serving delicious food (we had a great pub lunch AND fab Saturday dinner there) within a very short walk of Cob Cottage. Fantastic coastal & countryside walks nearby. Our minor queries were sorted out immediately with the housekeeper and we found the house was very clean with fresh white linen and fluffy white towels and a well-equipped kitchen. The hot tub "manager" arrived shortly after us to check all was ok for our first dip! A great family reunion was had by all!
An excellent homely base for exploring Dorset

We had a lovely week's break staying in Cob Cottage. 4 adults and 2 children stayed in a deceptively spacious house. Everything was extremely clean and we felt really comfortable there. The location is ideal for exploring large parts of Dorset, and Weymouth was about a 15 minute drive away, with Dorchester being even closer.
