District National Park this large luxury holiday home and events venue sleeps up to 34 guests in 15 charming en-suite bedrooms and offers breathtaking views across the Yorkshire countryside. Guests will have the most memorable stay as the house boasts two hot tubs, pet-friendly accommodation, a state-of-the-art cinema, games room and WIFI throughout. It’s ideal for lovers of the great outdoors too, with endless opportunities for walking and cycling across the Pennines and in the nearby Peak District.
Spicer Manor’s centrepiece is a stunning curved oak bifurcated staircase with spectacular drop lighting. A Chesterfield sofa and wing chairs offer seating for up to 11 guests in the grand hall, and there is a large fireplace with ornamental log burner. During celebrations, this area provides another communal space, situated between the lounge bar, sitting room and kitchen.
In the kitchen a large island with bar stools provides seating for 11 guests. There is enough kitchen equipment to serve all 34 guests at once, including extra-large pans and bowls to use when cooking for large groups. With 4 electric fan ovens, 2 four ring hobs, 2 American fridge freezers with ice dispensers, Wine Fridge, double belfast sinks, 3 dishwashers, 2 kettles, 2 toasters and microwave, this kitchen really does have everything you need. In this room there is also a generous living area which seats 8-12 guests, with a Yorkshire Range fireplace and a large Smart TV with Blu-Ray player.
Lounge and Living spaces
For guests looking for a quiet, cosy place to relax, the sitting room offers a large stone fireplace, comfortable seating on extra-deep sofas for up to 16 people, with magnificent views across the Yorkshire countryside. If you’re planning a special birthday party, the large lounge bar has everything you need. The room is lined with large sofas offering seating for 22 people, five coffee tables, a large 4K flat-screen TV and a spectacular marble-topped cocktail bar with two bar stools. With its own wine fridge, and a range of glassware for gin, champagne, beer, wine and cocktails, this is the place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or wedding. The coffee tables and/or sofas can also be removed on request if guests would like to turn this room into a dance floor.
The dining room/orangery has seating for 36 guests on adjoining oak tables. The room benefits from plenty of natural light, and by night, a set of beautifully hand-crafted pendant globe lights suspended above the table light up the room. There is additional seating with views of the private courtyard and water fountain. The room has bi-folding doors which open out onto the courtyard. Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Each bedroom at Spicer Manor is tastefully decorated, and the soft Farrow and Ball and Little Greene colours provide a restful backdrop to a comfortable night’s sleep. The bathrooms are as individual as the bedrooms, with Porcelanosa tiles throughout and high-quality fittings. All of the 15 bedrooms have king-size beds that can be turned into singles and there are four family rooms, one of which is accessible for people with limited mobility on the ground floor.
No expense has been spared to provide state-of-the-art entertainment at Spicer Manor. The cinema room retains period features with high-level wooden beams and exposed stonework. As well as providing entertainment for large family gatherings, the cinema is also useful for corporate meetings and away days, with access to the screen for presentations.
Located at the top of the house, the games room is the perfect place to escape for the young, and the young at heart, providing hours of fun. There are sofas at each end of the room which seat up to six people. With Pool Table, Air Hockey, Table Tennis and Table Football.
At Spicer Manor we understand your pet is part of the family. That’s why we’re one of the few pet-friendly, large holiday homes, with everything you need to cater for your dog on-site. The room also doubles up as a boot room and cloakroom. We allow up to four dogs, which can run on the ground floor but not in any of the bedrooms, upstairs or any of the furniture. Your pooch has his/her own room, with cages, baskets and a shower provided. Please make sure that your dogs do not go to the toilet on the lawns or grassed areas. Please only use the paddocks at the side of the car park for exercising your dogs. All dogs must sleep in the dog room over night. Dogs must not be left in the house unattended whilst guests are away form the property.
Garden an Grounds
Our gardens and patio provide the perfect place to relax in beautiful surroundings. The lawn area to the front of the house provides opportunities for summer picnic and ball games, with far-reaching views to the north. To the rear of the house there is a private south west-facing courtyard area, perfect for entertaining. Bi-folding doors open out from the orangery to this stunning outside space.
