Dawson's Cottage is a beautifully restored beamed barn conversion.
It is luxurious and spacious (ideal for 2) and has a main bathroom
plus an en suite, separate dressing room, outside seating and private off street car parking.
The sitting room has oak flooring, two comfortable sofas, TV/DVD/CD player and electric coal effect fire. This is a lovely cosy room in which to relax in the evenings.
There are connecting doors from the sitting room to the kitchen
which can either be open as they are in the picture for open plan living or closed for cosy evenings in.
The beamed kitchen is well equipped with microwave, fridge, dishwasher, oven, hob, toaster and all the crockery and cutlery that you will need during your stay. There is also a dining table and chairs for two people.
This is the downstairs bathroom with bath, wc and wash basin. There is also an en suite shower room upstairs with walk in shower and separate toilet.
The beamed bedroom had been beautifully converted from the original hay loft so the ceiling is vaulted. Leading from this room is the en suite with walk in shower and separate wc. The original hay loft window has been sympathetically restored. The comfortable John Lewis bed has a hypo allergenic mattress which is ideal for allergy sufferers.
This walk in shower is accessed from the bedroom. If you prefer a bath there is one in the bathroom downstairs.
The second wc is also accessed from the bedroom.
In addition there is another smaller room upstairs (photograph below)
with full length mirror and seating, this room is ideal for use as
a dressing room and for storing your suitcases.
This South facing outside seating area is to the rear of the property and is a great place to relax with a book and a glass of wine.

We had a lovely stay at Dawson’s cottage. The cottage is beautiful and is very well located in the village. The folder with walks was great. We followed 2 of them and the instructions were very clear.

Really enjoyed the stay, not been to the area before. Location in the village is great, also access to local attractions. Had great meal in the George where staff where 10/10. The cottage is really clean and has all you need for a short get away. Contact with the owners was helpful and swift
A beautiful village for the perfect getaway.

Booked fairly last minute so the fact the booking process was easy and property manager Rachel was very responsive made it quick and painless. Property was very nice, really clean and smack bang where you would want to be location wise (down the road from the Red Lion pub and only a short walk from the other two). It was also close to some of the local walks so we got out and about and had a brilliant stay and weekend.

Very cosy and comfortable cottage with everything we needed for a restful weekend break.

The cottage was well equipped, clean and comfortable in a nice quiet village. Bakewell was a 10 minute drive away and Matlock Bath was about 30 minutes away.
We would use the cottage again and recommend it as a great quiet retreat.
Lovely Period Dwelling

Smaller inside than anticipated but very nicely decorated with lots of well thought out touches. We have a large car so parking was a bit tight , mainly because of one of the locals parking a big van across the tight road opposite the gateway . We found the living room was just right. The bed was so comfortable we didn't want to get out in the morning. The heating worked well and the boiler provided the hot water ok. Not used to electric showers now but it did the job. There is also the option of a bath which was welcome after a long walk. The village is nice and quiet and friendly. Would love to come back again sometime in the future.
Fabulous, cosy cottage in beautiful surroundings!

Wonderfully homely cottage with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing break. Beautifully located in a great spot. Cottage was well equipped, super clean and nice and cosy on a cold and snowy weekend in January!

Immaculately clean and cosy in the lovely village of Youlgreave.
Really lovely cottage

Well equipped cottage, very clean and perfect for 2. Stairs narrow and small as is the en suite loo and shower so wouldn't recommend for very tall or big folk. Shop and pubs just around the corner. Would recommend the George Hotel for food, good quality and loads of it. Would happily stay here again
