No, if you are an agency - that is any organisation that does not have first-line direct contact with the owner where the properties have been handed on and on from and to third parties. We do not allow companies and agencies to overload our database with thousands of properties that are not cared for by the owner, hence our name, Simply Owners.

Do I need any special licences to advertise my property?

This will vary from Country to Country and Region to Region. You will need to make the necessary enquiries with the respective authorities to ensure that you have acquired the necessary licences to operate within the law of your particular area..

How do I know my holiday-home wont get lost amongst millions of other properties and appear on page 76 of the search results?

We are capping the numbers of properties in each resort/area once we have recruited the optimum level and will monitor that level continuously to ensure that we have a sensible margin of vacant properties available to holydaymakers.  We will not overload our database with other companies’/agents’ properties just to take listing fees and then see a stagnant glut of holiday-homes vacant.

How can I make amendments to my advert?

How do I spot any fraudulent behavior?

'Phishing' is the most common practice of scammers ‘sending emails that appear to be from a trustworthy source’. They attempt to obtain information on logins/passwords/bank details etc. Treat an email suspicious if:

The sender tries to get you to use a different email to the one they have registered with us Simply Owners.
The sender attempts to get sensitive information from you such as payment details, passwords, logins etc. You are encouraged to click on links taking you away from the main site.

What should I do if I believe I am experiencing fraudulent behaviour?

First of all, check the email address on the enquiry. We’ll only ever contact you from email addresses that end in:   @simplyowners.net
Secondly, contact us immediately and we will refer it to the respective investigative teams and subsequently to the police.

What common phishing scams should I be aware of?

Some scammers attempt to get your identity by asking you to prove that you are the owner. Asking for utility bills etc. They then ask for your bank details to make a payment to you. Once they have this they can set up all kinds of contracts and accounts in your name including bank accounts.

A renter submits a cheque for more than the required rental fee. They claim the over-payment was an accident and request a cheque to refund the difference. As requested, you write a cheque for the difference between the rental fee and the overpaid amount. The renter deposits your cheque, but their cheque bounces. If a renter sends a cheque for more than the rental amount, rip up the cheque and request that the renter sends a new one for the correct amount.
